So, this is his taste.
Evelyn Sherman quickly withdrew her gaze, like a child who had mistakenly trespassed into forbidden territory.
But the next second, she suddenly looked up, her gaze intensely focused on the contract on the office desk!
Her vision had always been sharp, and she was familiar with this contract more than anyone else. Even from this distance, she was certain, it was her contract!
Evelyn's heart suddenly started racing, as a thought flickered through her mind.
If she could get this contract, all her problems would be solved.
Evelyn swallowed hard. She knew clearly that stealing the contract was wrong, but... she couldn't go to jail!
She bit her lower lip, her feet as if moving on their own, advanced straight to the desk.
She wanted to shred this document, destroy it, so that the predicament confronting her would vanish. But since Chester had let her upstairs, did it mean he was willing to give back the contract to her?
In the midst of her hesitation, there was suddenly a sound of footsteps outside the door. Then came the secretary's voice: "Mr. CEO, you're back?"
Evelyn, like a frightened little rabbit, jumped up in surprise - her gaze still fixed on the document.

Just as she thought of this, the sound of footsteps came closer.
Evelyn felt her mind go blank in that moment. She turned around quickly, like a thief, with a guilty conscience she clutched the document tightly and hid in the nearby bookcase!
Just as she closed the cabinet door, the footsteps made their way into the room. Then she heard the secretary's voice again: "Huh, why is the door open?"
Evelyn's heart skipped a beat. But the next second, she heard another voice, "I'm sorry, I forgot to close the office door when I delivered the documents earlier."
The secretary scolded, "How could you be so careless? You…"
"Everyone out," commanded a familiar deep voice.
Upon hearing him, the other people promptly bowed their heads and respectfully left the room.
Soon, Chester was left alone in the office.
Evelyn was squeezed into the rigid bookcase, her heart raced as if it would leap out of her throat at any moment. She was secretly regretting why on earth she was so reckless to do such a thing?
But now, there was no turning back. She couldn't possibly come out of the cabinet.
She bit her lip, her body curled into ball. Peeking through the crack in the door, she could clearly see a tall figure backlit as he walked towards the room.
He casually took off his blazer, hung it on a nearby clothes hanger, then he loosened his tie with his long fingers, followed by taking a seat behind the table.
He reached out, opened his laptop, then picked up a document from the table and began to read.
The room suddenly fell silent, without the slightest noise. Evelyn felt an intense sense of oppression.
Her fingers clutched the contract as if it were a lifeline. Her gaze concentrated gradually on Chester.
His aura was even more overpowering than it used to be four years ago. This morning, she did not dare to look at him straight.
But now, she could freely gaze at him uninhibitedly.
The outline of his face was sterner than it was four years ago, and more resolute, perfection that was akin to a demonic charm.
The demonic pupils, high-bridged nose, the corner of his lips were uplifted slightly, with an ambiguity of a smiling yet not-so-smiling look, adding an ineffable rogue to his appearance.
