After waiting a few more minutes, one of the women walked towards the middle of the stage. "Welcome, everyone. My name is Talia, and I am one of the teachers here. I am specialized in the sword and am currently a B-rank adventurer. While in this academy, you will be expected to train as hard as possible to defend future generations from attacks.

While this academy is going on, you will be introduced to many new things. One of the things that we will be enforcing is the religion." Murmurs began to go around the hall when she mentioned religion. Religion is a topic that is kind of taboo to speak about because most of the people here believed in some sort of God, but when the attack came, they didn't help.

So, for these people, this was a sensitive topic. "We will not be praying to some god that didn't help us or just a name that appeared in the history books. No, we will be introducing you to the God of dreams. You probably have a lot of questions about who that is, right?" The hall went silent when she introduced the God we would worship.

"Now we know and feel abandoned by our gods, but when everything in this world seems to go dark, you may have noticed that the powers you have awakened are something you have dreamed about at some point and that God gave us the power to protect ourselves." The students began talking when this realization kicked in. That was the truth; she did dream of her powers, but she didn't expect that this was the reason for receiving them.

"While the God of dreams blesses us and grants us powers, that doesn't mean everyone is so lucky to get the powers they want. You have one famous example of this. That one is the star goddess that is really famous now because of her powers. She is an example because she never wished for the powers she now possesses but needed them to save mankind.

She got her powers out of necessity from the God of dreams, who was assigned the task of guarding humanity. That is why we will always be grateful for her deeds and help when we can. Now, you will be split up into different groups. Each group contains a different kind of specialty, ranging from swords to alchemy to smithing to simply cooking.

Every class is important here to prepare for our new world. Now, go and find your class. You can find your class on your identity tag. Good luck, everyone." With that, the teachers went down the podium and out of the hall. Following them were the students, now searching for where their class was.

Looking down at my tag, I saw that I was in class four. I looked at the girl next to me and peeked at her tag. Her tag says four as well. "What class did you get into?" I asked, although I knew the answer so she wouldn't think I was just sneaky peeking at her stuff. She looked at me again with her cold eyes and moved back to her tag to look.

"Four." It was a cold and short answer, as always. She kept looking at me, and after processing it, I thought that she wanted to know my class as well. "I am also in class four. Let's go and find our teacher." I grabbed her hand and pulled her behind me when I began walking out of the hall. There were a lot of students making their way out of the hall, so we had to wait in line.

When we finally came out, the yard I had walked on some time ago had changed. Instead of a barren yard that was just large, it was filled with trees and ponds, like a big park. At the sides of this park were big portals with numbers above them. In total, there were twenty portals, and we quickly walked towards portal four.

Walking inside the portal, we felt like we were teleporting. This feeling is weird, as always. I already experienced it when we walked into a portal from our little settlement to this big city. I looked back at the girl whose hand I had still in my grip, and she seemed perfectly fine. When we arrived at the other side of the portal, we saw a tropic island before our eyes.

We saw some other students standing around a female teacher when we looked around. While it wasn't teacher Talia who gave the speech a couple of minutes ago, I recognized this teacher because she stood behind her when she gave it. I walked toward the other students, and we gathered around the teacher, who was standing there waiting for more students.

When three more girls appeared on the beach, the teacher clapped her hands. "Hello, everyone. My name is Fiona, and you will be training under me on this private island. This island will be your classroom, where you will train to become stronger. Every morning, when you arrive at the academy, you will enter our class portal because the location of my teachings may differ by the day.

Some of you may be wondering what we will be doing on this island or where it is. First, the city lord of Goldspire and Lady Star Goddess gifted this island to the academy, so be grateful for the opportunity. Second, I will be introducing you guys to our God. While you may have had different religions in the past, this one has a special ritual for entry, so we will do it here where you can have a bit of privacy.

Are there twenty-five people in total in this class? Look around. These people are the people that you will be in a squad with when you get deployed later, so make friends and, most importantly, don't hate each other, okay?" The teacher paused, speaking, and let us students look around. While I did see some boys in the hall, there weren't any in this class.

I looked around at the people in my class before looking back at the teacher. Seeing that everyone had calmed down, she got a bag out of her storage ring and opened it. "In this bag are twenty-five viles with the liquid that makes our connection between us and our God stronger. Take it, and you will see how great our God is."

She slowly set the bag on the ground, and every student went forward and took one vile from the bag before making space for the next student. When everyone picked one, the teacher clapped her hands, and where previously stood nothing but the beginning of a forest now stood twenty-five different huts. "These huts will be your own personal space; everything you need is provided there. Your only job now is taking this serum and connecting with our God.

When you finish, you can come outside and leave for the day. Tomorrow, when everyone knows what rank they belong to, we will start our lesson. Now choose a hut and get inside." The students quickly spread out and randomly chose a hut to take the serum. I looked back at Selena, and she was waiting for me to decide. Seeing that two huts that stood next to each other hadn't been chosen, I quickly headed there.

"I'll take this one. You should take the one next to me, " I said as I pointed to the one next to mine. We had been holding hands during this time, but now we have let go. Selena began walking towards her hu, and before going inside, she turned around. "See you later, Lydia." Her smooth but cold voice sounded again, but I just nodded with a smile on my face.

"Mhm, see you later." I smiled and waved before going inside. With the door closed behind me, I looked around the room and saw that it was fully furnished. What teacher Fiona said was true. Everything you needed was here. There was food, water, and even a TV. While TVs are rare nowadays, they still exist in some rich places.

After admiring my room, I lay on my bed and stared at the vile in my hand. 'This white liquid that was inside here should make a connection with me and a god? Let's find out.' I opened the cap, and a sweet smell arose from it. While I couldn't compare it to anything, it smelled pleasant.

After sniffing it for a moment, I closed my eyes and gulped the serum down in one go. The sweet smell was in my mouth, and when it came in contact with my tongue, a sweet flavor exploded in my mouth. 'This is so good, oh my god.' While saying that, I felt something was different. Everything around me became clearer, and my powers were more accessible.

She nodded and spoke, but I saw her blush while staring at the ground.

'Cute.' That was the only thing that came to my mind. "Now, let's return to the teacher before it's too late. Selena nodded again, and we began walking towards the teacher. Looking at our arrival, she nodded. "Congratulations, you are the first one to come out. You can go home via the portal over there. I expect you tomorrow."
