Capítulo 25: XXIII - A Deal and a Childhood Outing

Hanasakigawa Girls High School - May 26, 2021 - Wednesday - 7:30 A.M.
Riku POV
A day has passed since CiRCLE's successful Live Event and also the fact that grandfather informed me that I was already engaged to someone...this complicates my relationship to Rinko.....
I'm at my classroom with my head on the desk trying to get some sleep. I couldn't get any sleep from all the information that was dumped on me as I was over thinking on it which is a bad habit of mine. Some of my classmates were asking me if I'm okay, but I tell them that it's nothing much.
Chisato: Riku. Are you sure you're okay?
Riku: I just need a quick shut eye Chisato.
Chisato: Did you play NFO all night?
Riku: It's not that. It's a personal matter....I just over thinked it and left me little time to sleep.
Chisato just sighed as she knows my bad habit of over thinking.
Chisato: Then I won't ask anything else if that's the case. Just take care of yourself. We can't have you collapsing out of nowhere. You know how Yuyuko-san reacts to whenever something bad happens to you.
Riku: You don't need to remind me of that...how much time till homeroom starts?
Chisato: We still have at least 20 minutes till classes start.
Riku: Good. Can you and Kanon keep an eye on my body for a moment?
Chisato: What?
Kanon: Fueeeeh?
The two didn't know what it meant so I explained them in a low tone to make sure no one hears it.
Riku: Look. I need to stay in my mindscape for a while so I can recover fast. So keep an eye on my body for at least 15 minutes.
Chisato: I see. What should I say to Sayo and Rinko-chan when they ask?
Riku: Just tell them what I said just now. Anyway, I'm doing it now. Keep an eye on me okay?
Chisato: Very well.
Kanon: Leave it to us Riku-kun.
Riku: Thanks.
And with that, I closed my eyes and went to my mindscape.
Chisato POV
Riku fell asleep...or it is what he looks like now, but he's in his mindscape to recover quickly. He asked me and Kanon to keep an eye on him, and right on cue.....Sayo and Rinko-chan entered the room. And when Rinko-chan saw Riku sleeping, she showed signs of worry.
Rinko: Is Riku alright Chisato-san?
Chisato: He told me that he was dealing a personal matter, which left him little time to sleep.
Sayo: Then we should wake him up, class is about to start.
Kanon: Riku-kun told us that he'll wake up in about 15 minutes so....
Rinko: He asked you two to keep an eye on him?
Both me and Kanon nodded to her question as they both understood and went to their seats as they wait for Riku to wake up.
And like Riku said, in just 15 minutes, he woke up from his sleep.
Riku POV
I woke up from my quick rest, Rinko and Sayo were already in their seats and Rinko was looking at me very worried.
Rinko: You're finally up Riku. What happened?
Riku: Something personal...but don't worry about it.
Rinko: If you say so....
Riku: By the way, did you or any members of Roselia got some messages on your phones?
Sayo and Rinko looked at each other and Sayo seemed to get it.
Sayo: You mean this?
Sayo gave me her phone and showed me a certain message and it was in full English. Lucky for them, I understood the message.....and it's something that involves Roselia's future.
Sayo: I know English, but not that much so I can't understand some of it. But I think that whoever sent this wants to meet Roselia.
Riku: Well you're right about that Sayo. Because this is a sponsorship deal.
Rinko/Sayo: WHAT?!
The two Roselia members were beyond shocked. The message that they received was a sponsorship deal. Well can't say I blame them. Our classmates turned around and asked what the fuss is about, and I told them that it involves their band, after that, they returned to what they're doing earlier on.
Riku: And looking at the sender...it's from Red Bull. Lucky.
Chisato: What do you mean by lucky Riku?
Riku: Simple, because Red Bull is the main sponsor of OG.
The band were surprised that OG's sponsor are offering Roselia a deal with them. Even though they haven't started performing professionally.
Riku: Let's discuss this later at CiRCLE. Tell Yukina and the other members about this. And from the contents of the letter, a representative will be meeting you girls at 4 in the afternoon.
Sayo: That early?...very well. I'll inform Minato-san and the others.
Riku: Good. Let's continue this later. Homeroom is starting.
Timeskip....
Live House CiRCLE - Lobby - 3:50 P.M.
After classes ended, Rinko and Sayo went to Haneoka to pick up the rest of Roselia as I told them to. Youmu told me that she was called by Yuyuko-san to do the monthly check on the Saigyouji Garden. She also informed me that Mafuyu will be meeting with her friends at a local family restaurant.
When I got to CiRCLE, I told Aya and Hatate to take the rest of the day off, which they were very grateful for. Right now, I'm at the front desk waiting for Roselia to arrive as well as the representative from Red Bull.
While I was waiting for them, Johan posted me the schedule of OG's matches for the Summer Tour of the PBC.
Week 1 - OG vs Goonsquad - June 7 - Monday
Week 2 - OG vs Tundra - June 14 - Monday
Week 3 - OG vs Team Secret - June 18 - Friday

As I looked in to their schedule, I can say that it's a very okay schedule. I know they can beat the first 4 matches, and as for the rest.....it'll depend on luck. Especially Liquid. But I can't wait for their match against Entity, cause Ammar and Bozhidar will be facing their former band mates.
And from the additional information that I got, the Summer Tour for Western Europe will be held at Madrid, Spain. The PBC in Eastern Europe, Western Europe, South America and Southeast Asia are held in certain countries every tour. For example, in the Spring tour, the Western Europe PBC was held at Vienna, Austria, while it was held at Frankfurt, Germany at the Winter tour.
While I was browsing at the PC to kill time. The door opened and I see Roselia entering the Live House.
Riku: Glad that all of you came.
Yukina: We got the gist from Sayo. What you said was true? The message that was sent to us was a sponsorship?
Riku: Yes, it is. I know your dislike on the business side, but at least hear them out first.
Yukina was staring at me for a few seconds, then she just closed her eyes and sighed.
Yukina: Very well.
Ako: Riku-nii, is it true that they sponsor your band?
Riku: Not just OG Ako-chan. They also sponsor the DJ group G2 and the Idol group T1. Both top tier organizations in their own right. But OG is by far the biggest one.
Sayo: But how did they manage to find us?
Riku: Well.....I may have streamed the entire event without you girls knowing....
Rinko: Wait so that means....
Riku: Yup. You're performance is up in the internet for the world to see. And not gonna lie, the views are booming. Go check it out.
Lisa pulled out her phone and checked her twitter page and they see Roselia is number 2 trending worldwide. She found one of the videos and she couldn't believe the view count.
Lisa: 10 million in just a day?!
Sayo: Seriously?!
Riku: and looking at the comments, all I can see is the people begging for Gabe to add Japan in the PBC.
Yukina: If all goes well....
Riku: You're goal is well within reach...they're here.
And on my cue, two people entered the Live house. One man and one woman wearing a business suit. The man has dark brown hair with a calm expression holding a briefcase, alongside him was a woman that is as tall as Rinko that has auburn red hair with a cheerful face.
Riku: I take that you two are the representatives right?
???: Yes. We've come here on behalf of the Main Branch. I'm Takahashi Yosuke. Red Bull Japan Branch representative. And this is my partner.
???: Kinoshita Hanabi. Pleasure to meet you all.
Riku: Now introductions have been made. Let's take a seat and get this started.
Yosuke-san and Hanabi-san took a seat on the vacant couch and Roselia sat opposite of them while I sat on the middle as if I'm the head of the table.
Riku: Now, give us the rundown on what can Red Bull offer to Roselia.
As I said that, Yosuke-san opened the briefcase and gave a stack of papers to Yukina. The papers contain all the information that Red Bull has so Yukina and the others can understand. Luckily for them, the papers were typed in Japanese.
After reading the contents for several minutes, Yukina put the papers on the table and gave her answer.
Yukina: Before we go deeper on this, I would like to ask you a question. And I want you two to be absolutely honest with it.
Yosuke: We'll answer to the best of our ability.
Yukina: What's the catch?
Lisa: Yukina...
Yukina: Lisa. I know what I'm doing. I ask you again, what's the catch? I know that sponsorship contracts isn't easy to get. But I know that there is something odd in this one.
Yosuke: There is no catch Minato-san. You girls can play freely, while we at Red Bull will provide what you need for your performances in the future. The reason why we reach out to you because we want your help on something.
Sayo: Our help?
Hanabi: Yes. Nagae-sama, can I use the PC for a moment?
Riku: Sure, go ahead.
I gave room to Hanabi-san as she typed something in the PC, and when the link came out, I understood why they want Roselia's help.
Hanabi: You see, Red Bull is releasing a new type of drink globally for next year.
Rinko: Red Bull Energy Drink....for teens?
Yosuke: Precisely. You see, for the longest time the energy drinks that Red Bull produces are meant for adults to drink. The higher ups were thinking of ideas on how to make it friendly to all ages. Then 3 years ago, we made an idea that what if the contents were lowered to a certain extent where people from their early teens can drink it safely.
Hanabi: After 2 years of constant testing, we finally perfected it and ready to be released in the market. But we need someone to advertise it.
Lisa: And you want Roselia to advertise the drink?
Yosuke: Exactly. And that's not the only reason why we picked you.
Yukina: Reason why?
Yosuke: By advertising, you're not only advertising the drink, but also your band and the Japanese Music scene as well. We know you're the real deal because we were also there at the Live Event yesterday. And you girls fit the age category of the new product.
Yukina: So you kill two birds in one stone....
Hanabi: Something like that.
Yukina: One more question....why us? You could've picked RaS or Peakey P-key and yet you picked us...did Riku-san recommended us?
I raised a brow when Yukina told that I gave them a freebie. Yosuke-san explained to her that it's not the case.
Yosuke: Not exactly. The reason why we picked your band is because the potential that you five girls hold. The higher ups can feel shades of the OG back in 2018 in you. They feel that you girls can reach to new heights in the future, and Red Bull wanted to be the one to help you in reaching it.
I decided to step in to finish the conversation.
Riku: Accept it Yukina. What Yosuke-san said is true. They helped OG when it was its lowest point. When fly and s4 left the band back in 2018, Red Bull could've decided to cut ties with OG, but decided not to. The reason why they didn't cut off with us is because they had faith. They had faith in OG to do the unthinkable, and we did. And we did it again two more times. They picked Roselia because they felt that you girls can do the unthinkable as well.....and I think so too. And not gonna lie, I would be so happy to have Roselia to be with the Red Bull Family along with OG.
Yukina: Riku-san....very well...we accept the terms.
Yosuke-san smiled at Yukina's reply as he reached out his hand to her.
Yosuke: I'm glad you've made a decision Minato-san. I promise that you won't regret this.
Yukina shook his hand in return with a small smile on her face.
Hanbi: Now that you've agreed, let's get to the other matter at hand. This is what Red Bull can offer to you girls right now.
Yukina: Let's see....Takahashi-san....Kinoshita-san...are you sure that this is the amount?
Sayo: Is something wrong?
Yukina: See for yourselves.
Yukina gave the paper to Sayo. And when Sayo saw it as well, her eyes went wide.
Sayo: Are you serious? 60 million dollars for 3 years?
When I heard that, my eyes went wide as well. 60 million for three years? OG started with only 50 million for 4 years. OG had signed an extension with Red Bull for 5 years for 250 million. I also heard that when they took G2, their offer was 40 million for 5 years in 2015 and re-signed for 170 million for 4 years last year and T1 has 50 million for 4 years back in 2014 and re-signed back in 2018, 220 million for 6 years.
Well OG's band will not get the full 250 million, it'll be divided as a portion will be given to the DJ group that OG made 2 years ago, and a portion of the money will be given to the organization as well. So the split will be 100 million for the band, 90 million for the DJ group and 60 million for the organization itself.
(A/N: I know the amount of money that I put out is nearly the same salary as an NBA or MLB player, but you know what, fuck it.)
Riku: Yosuke-san. Are you sure that's their offer to them?
Yosuke: I asked the chairman in person. He said that it was the appropriate amount to start. And also.....he wanted to give this to you.
Yosuke-san gave me a paper. And when I read it, I nearly fell from my chair which shocked everyone.
Rinko: Riku! Are you okay?!
Riku: I'm fine Rinko.....the chairman just gave me this...and it says.....though I'm retired.....Red Bull decided to give me.....a lifetime contract...where I get.....20 million dollars a year.
Roselia: EXCUSE ME?!?!
Lisa: Wait a minute! Aren't you retired?! Then why are you getting paid?!
Sayo: And its 20 million a year....
While the girls were giving their opinion on my unexpected lifetime offer, I read through the paper to see if there are any conditions for it and lo and behold, I found one.
Riku: It has some conditions though.....it says that for this contract to be effective, I must be a manager/coach for an organization that is sponsored by Red Bull for at least 3-5 years, the second option is that I join an organization that is sponsored by them for 3 years...or.....I am to become one of Red Bull's ambassador here.
Yukina: So you either become a supporting cast, a part of the main cast for 3 years...or to represent Red Bull here in Japan....
Ako: Seems like a fair deal.
Riku: If it was that easy. I told you earlier on, G2 is a DJ group and T1 is mostly an organization that promotes Idols. Aside from OG, I have no experience in either field.
Rinko: You can become our coach.
Everyone turned their attention to Rinko when she told me to become Roselia's coach.
Riku: Rinko. Your suggestion is not bad. But let's be real, if I accepted that, expect the media will spread rumors that I picked Roselia because you're my childhood friend which shows extreme bias.
Hanabi: And you know what the media is these days. So Nagae-sama, what can you say about your contract?
Riku: I don't know why Red Bull gave me this contract, but if it's the chairman's idea, then I might have a clue on what he's thinking.
I grabbed a pen and wrote my signature on the dotted line and passed it on to Hanabi-san.
Hanabi: Welcome back Iku.
Riku: Yeah....but do tell this to the chairman. Tell him that I'll be back in a year or two. I still have some matters to settle in Japan.
I noticed a small smile from Yukina just now...I guess she's happy that I plan to come back in a year or two.....
Riku: Quick question, did Johan and the others got offers like mine?
Hanabi: Johan-sama and Sebastien-sama were given offers and accepted it. The contents for them was to draw in new talent to the scene which they say casually "A cakewalk". Topias-sama agreed to it, but he wanted to take a break for the rest of the year and the contents for his contract is the same as yours. Only Jesse-sama has declined it as he was content on his retirement.
Riku: I see.
Yosuke: And what about you, Minato-san?
Yukina said nothing and wrote her signature on the dotted line. She passed it along to Sayo and the others so they could sign it as well.
Yosuke: With that, it's official. Welcome to Red Bull. Your contract will begin in January. Once the new season of the PBC starts.
Yukina: Thanks for the heads up.
Riku: Now with that out of the way. I told you to bring your costumes right?
Lisa: We did....why do we need to bring it though?
Riku: You girls are gonna do a photoshoot.
The girls were dead silent to my statement and Sayo asked me again if I was pulling their leg or not.
Sayo: Are you serious?
Riku: The moment you girls signed that contract, you girls have to do it. This photos they take today, will be edited and will be posted on Red Bull's social media accounts announcing Roselia's signing with the brand.
Yukina: I get it now. Very well, let's get started then.
Riku: Go to the changing room as we prepare everything. Meet us at the multipurpose room, it's just left of my office.
The girls nodded and they head to the changing room. I turned around at the two adults and both of them nodded.
Few hours later.....
Nagae Estate - 6:00 P.M.
The photoshoot was a success. The girls were nervous at first as it was their first time doing a photoshoot. Well, they're gonna get used to it now they're a part of Red Bull. After the photoshoot, Yosuke-san told us that Hanabi-san will be Roselia's official manager, much to our surprise.
Yukina asks Hanabi-san's credibility in being a manager, Yosuke assures the girls that Hanabi-san was more than capable of handling things. In the end, Yukina accepted Hanabi-san as Roselia's manager, but they still have to find a coach for them.
After the two left, Yukina received a message from YAMAHA that they're offering Roselia a sponsorship deal as well, so as ROLAND. We decided to deal with this at a later date as they gave us a date on when we can discuss. After that, all of us went home as we basically have nothing to do. And when I got home, I was greeted by Ayabe and I saw Mafuyu just standing there near the entrance of the living room.
Riku: Why are you just standing there Mafuyu?
Mafuyu: Nii-san. Welcome back. The thing is....grandfather is talking to someone and...
I took a peek on who was grandfather talking to and it was two grown men. The first one was an old man in his 70's with long spiky gray hair with a mustache and beard. He also has a scar on his right eye and he's wearing an olive-colored yukata tied in a white obi. And the second man is a man in his late 30's or early 40's that has long brown hair tied back. He's wearing a black fitted shirt and brown slacks.
As I identified the two men, I went into the living room and greeted my grandfather on my return.
Riku: I've returned, grandfather.
Kyoya: Ah Riku, welcome back. I'm sure you remember these two.
Riku: I do. It's been a long time Sanzaemon-dono, Joichiro-san.
The old man was Nakiri Sanzaemon, Head of the Nakiri Family, the headmaster of Tōtsuki Culinary Academy and known as the "Demon King of the Gourmet World". As to how I know him is when before I left Japan to pursue my career in music overseas, he frequently visits grandfather and the two of them were best friends.
And the other man was Yukihira Joichiro. A former student of Tōtsuki and one of the most reputable chefs in the world...though he only owns a diner that his family owns. As to how I met him is Joichiro-san and my father were business partners before my father married into the Nagae. The man known as "Asura". I don't know how he got that nickname but I won't pry into it. And he is also known to a few people for his disgusting food combinations...which I got the receiving end of it...and that end me up in the hospital for 2 weeks. And I won't forget what Eirin-san did to him.....he became her guinea pig for a week and left the hospital walking like a zombie after.
Joichiro: Been a while Riku. Look at you, you've grown into a fine man. Pretty sure a lot of girls are fawning over ya.
Joichiro-san said it with a teasing grin, only for Sanzaemon-dono clearing his throat.
Sanzaemon: Ahem. Anyways, good to see you too Riku. I've heard that you've retired from being a musician.
Riku: I did. I announced my retirement right after TI10.
Joichiro: Retiring at the age of 18? A little bit too early for you don't you think?
Riku: I just need a change of pace.....the scheduling of the Live Events were...overwhelming.
Joichiro: Reasonable. You're still young, I mean you've been doing this your whole life. Take it from me. Everyone needs a break at some point. Anyway....who's the girl hiding there in the corner?
Mafuyu flinched who was currently hiding behind the wall. Grandfather chuckled as he called Mafuyu.
Kyoya: Mafuyu, you can come out now. They can be trusted.
Mafuyu came out of hiding and entered the living room. She bowed to the two and introduced herself.
Mafuyu: I'm Nagae Mafuyu.
Sanzaemon: Kyoya...is she?
Kyoya: Yes...
Sanzaemon: Hm...very well, I won't pry into it.
Joichiro: Same goes for me. I can tell that there's somethin' about her.
Riku: Mafuyu, you can go to your room. I have something to tell them.....privately.
Mafuyu: Very well.....after your talk...can we have a piano session again?
Riku: Sure why not. Now run along now, I won't take long.
Mafuyu nodded and left the living room. I looked at the two men.
Joichiro: Judging from your tone, you have somethin' very serious to say to us right?
Riku: Yes....Azami is on the move.
When I mentioned "Azami", Joichiro-san and Sanzaemin-dono's expressions turned serious.
Sanzaemon: Where did you find him?
Riku: He was at Stockholm the last time I saw him. Luckily he didn't seem to notice me. And from the info I got, he has made a foundation in North America and South America.
Joichiro: This isn't good. If Azami gets a hold of Europe.....He'll have a lot of backing for his goal...
Riku: And it's not just that. I've been getting reports on a certain person beating world renowned chefs left and right for the past few months. And he is using the name "Saiba" as his alias.
Joichiro-san stood up from the couch in shock. Looks like he knows who the culprit is.
Joichiro: Riku...is that true?
Riku: The Nagae's information network is always on point. Remember what we Nagae specialize in.
Sanzemon: Right.....you Nagae hold the best information network in the world. Thank you for giving us this information. I'll have a meeting with the other chefs in regards to this...guess I have to speed up my plans.
Joichiro: Mine too. Jiji, the brats are still in their training camp right?
Sanzaemon: They just began a week ago, why?
Joichiro: Nothing much. Well, gotta go. I have to speed things up on my side. Nice talkin' to ya!
Joichiro-san left as he was in a hurry, leaving me with the two old men.
Sanzaemon: Whatever you said to him really made him concerned...
Kyoya: Are you still worried about Erina?
Sanzaemon: Yes. Though I freed her from her father's clutches, the effects still linger.....but she's slowly opening up....but if what Riku said was true...I must plan my next move.
Kyoya: Then I suggest reaching out to the Komeiji. I'm sure Satori will lend you her aid. I'll inform the other heads in regards to this so they can allow you to do what's necessary.
Sanzaemon: Thank you.....I'm in your debt.
Kyoya: If you want to thank someone, then it has to be Riku. He's the one who found out after all. He deserve a reward don't you think?
Sanzaemon-dono began to think what to give me. Then he opened his eyes as he had an idea.
Sanzaemon: Riku, are you free for the weekend?
Riku: Grandfather gave me the week off so yes, I'm free.
Without saying anything, Sanzaemon-dono gave me a voucher.
Riku: Uh...what is this?
Sanzaemon: It's a voucher for the Tōtsuki Resort. I can see in your face that you're tired from all the work you've been doing. I gave you that as a means for you to have a break that you deserve.
Riku: Thank you...so....does this voucher covers only me or?
Sanzaemon: You can bring five more with you. That voucher covers for six people for a week. And need to remind you, that voucher only lasts till the end of May.
Riku: Duly noted. As for the person that will be going with me...that might take me a while to decide...and.....
Kyoya: There's a catch right?
Riku: That's what I want to say. So Sanzaemon-dono. What's the catch?
Sanzaemon-dono just chuckled as he was caught red handed.
Sanzaemon: You Nagae really are terrifying with your intuition. Yes, I want to ask you a favor. You still bake right?
Riku: Yeah, I do. Though I bake twice a month for Yuyuko-san. Why?
Sanzaemon: You see, the first year students of Tōtsuki are currently having their training camp at the resort. I want you to give them a reality check.
Riku/Kyoya: Reality check?
Sanzaemon: Riku. I know that you're gifted in baking and in other forms of desserts. If you weren't a musician, you could've taken Tōtsuki's 2nd seat if you were still young.
Aside from my skills as a musician, I love baking as much as playing music. My baking skills were so good, it brought the attention of Sanzaemon-dono when I was 13. He offered me a spot in Tōtsuki and a spot in the Elite Ten in the future, but I flatly declined. He asked why, but I answered that I love music much more than cooking, and I take baking as a hobby.
Sanzaemon: Aside from a select few, majority of the students have well...
Riku: Prideful, egoistic, thinking that the're in the top of the world, underestimating people with humble backgrounds and giving up before they even try?
Sanzaemon: Wow you really go where it hurts. Yes.....those things. I want you to do it at the final part of the training camp. I'll let Gin and the other Alumni in charge to let you do your work.
Riku: Very well. But I'll do it on one condition.
Sanzaemon: Name it.
Riku: I'll hold on to it when I need it.....How's Erina doing?
Sanzaemon: Erina followed your advice. Thanks to you, she and Alice are now very close. As her grandfather, I'm happy that she's going to the right direction. Her tongue may be sharp when it comes to cooking, she's changed tremendously. And she's still a bit upset that you left the classical music world. You know she loves your plays.
Riku: I know.....but it's my choice to make.....and I'm glad she followed my advice...well, I gotta go. Mafuyu is already waiting for me.
Kyoya: Sorry that we're keeping you here. Move along now.
I bowed and left the living room as I head to Mafuyu's room. And when I opened the door and went inside, I see Mafuyu, her maid Nazuna along with Tina playing video games. When they saw me, they were just like a pair of deers that were just standing on the road.
Mafuyu: Uh.....I can explain....
Riku: Don't need. It's normal for you to play games. As long as you balance it with your studies and anything else okay?
Mafuyu: Hai. You finished your talk with grandfather and his friends? And who are they?
Riku: Those two were grandfather's friends. Well the middle aged one is father's friend. Anyway, are you ready?
Mafuyu: Hai. I want to show you how much I've worked on my speed.
Riku: Very well, let's get started. Tina, you want to stay and watch?
Tina: If it's alright with you, then I'll take the offer.
Riku: Nazuna, get us some something light to eat.
Nazuna: Understood, Riku-sama.

Hanasakigawa Girls High School Student Council Office - May 27, 2021 - Thursday - 12:30 P.M.
3rd POV
After Riku and Mafuyu finished their session, the two of them ate dinner along with Tina and after that, they called it a day.
Now we cut to the next day, in the Student Council Office where Riku, Rinko, Sayo and Arisa are inside having lunch. As to why Riku's there, Rinko and Sayo invited him to go. Riku was planning to have lunch with Mafuyu, but in the end, he gave up and joined the student council trio instead.
After they finished their lunch, Sayo and Arisa were doing some leftover Student Council work from yesterday, Rinko wanted to help but the two said that they can handle it on their own.
Rinko was looking at Riku who was in his own world. Curious, she tugged his sleeves and Riku's attention turned to her.
Riku: Did you need something Rinko?
Rinko: No, but....you've been in a daze since the entire morning.
Sayo who heard the conversation joined in as she noticed Riku's attitude.
Sayo: Shirokane-san's right. The teacher had to call you at least twice to get your attention. What's on your mind?
Riku: Well....I gotta ask, are you three free for the weekends?
The three girls looked at each other as to why he asked if they were free in the weekend.
Arisa: Why do you ask this?
Riku said nothing and just put the Tōtsuki Resort voucher on the table.
Sayo: This is?
Riku: An all expense paid stay for a week at the Tōtsuki Resort.
Sayo/Rinko/Arisa: EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH?!
Rinko: W-w-where did you get this?! As far as I know, it's hard to get a reservation at that hotel.....
Riku: Sanzaemon-dono gave it to me.
The girls turned their heads at Riku slowly to see if he was just joking, but he was just there sitting and drinking some tea.
Arisa: How did you know him?
Riku: My grandfather and him are best friends. As for the voucher, he gave it to me as thanks for helping him with something.
Sayo: Aren't you busy to use this voucher?
Riku: I got the rest of the week off. That gives me a chance to rest. I was planning to invite all of you but when I he said that I can only bring five, I had to pick my options....
Arisa: Then how about you invite your childhood friends?
The three turned to Arisa as she suggested that Riku should go along with his childhood friends.
Arisa: I mean, you guys haven't hanged out with just you. You can take this as a chance to reconnect. Kaoru-san and Mitake-san are at Haneoka, Kokoro is always with HaroHapi, Chisato-senpai is with PasuPare and Rinko-senpai uses most of her time on her practice with Roselia.
Riku: Hmmmmmmmm....a good suggestion, that is if they're open. Kokoro will surely go. What about you Rinko?
Rinko: Eh? Me? I mean...we have practice scheduled in the weekend...
Sayo: I'll talk to Minato-san about this. You can go Shirokane-san.
Rinko: Hikawa-san? Why?
Sayo: I'm sure Minato-san will understand. Besides, this could give us a breather as well. If Minato-san agrees to it, then that will give me free time with Hina.
Arisa: I noticed that you and Hina-senpai are getting well nowadays. What happened?
Sayo: Riku-san helped me with that. He showed me that I was wrong on how I see Hina. He was harsh at me when he pointed it out, but at the same time he was right. I've been treating her like a plague and that gave me an epiphany to become a big sister that she can be proud of. I'm happy that Hina forgave me for what I've done to her.
Flashback (One month ago - This happened in CiRCLE just to inform ya'll)
What Sayo meant by that is what happened back in April, 2 days after Riku revealed his career in music. Riku confronted Sayo regarding her inferiority complex and surprisingly, Sayo was cooperative. She told Riku the whole story where it all began with Hina, even telling that Hina shouldn't have been born.
Riku flatly told Sayo's mistake without even sugarcoating it which infuriates her at first and without even thinking she slapped Riku's face hard and he just took it with no resistance. Sayo seeing this realized what she did asked Riku on why he let her slap him.
Sayo: You wanted me to hit you.....but why?
Riku: To release your anger. Make you more amenable to reason.
Sayo: Now I feel like shit.
Riku: Don't be. And to be honest, I actually deserve that. But, what I said to you is nothing but the truth.
Sayo: I know, I admit. I'm a terrible sister.....but...what can I do?
Sayo asked Riku as she was looking on the floor while her fists were clenched.
Riku: There is one thing that you can do. One that will for sure mend your relationship with Hina-san. One that will make you a better person than you are today.
Riku puts a hand on her shoulder and Sayo looked at Riku as he awaits his answer.
Riku: Tell Hina-san how you really feel, let the emotions out. Have an earnest talk with each other.
Sayo: Riku-san I.....I don't think that....Hina might hate me for it...
Riku: It's okay Sayo-san...Hina-san won't hate you.....
Sayo: Why won't she hate me? After all I've done to her?
Riku: Because you're her older sister.
A sudden realization hit Sayo as her legs gave out and collapsed to the floor. As the realization kicks in, she began to let out tears and Riku knelt down as he gave Sayo a headpat...
Sayo: Why didn't I realized it till now....I want to.....but....it's too late for me.
Riku: It's never too late. Sayo.
And to Riku's words, Sayo hugged Riku as she cried her heart out and Riku just rubbed her back in return. After calming down, Sayo left the live house as she tries to make amends with her sister.
And several hours after that, Riku got a message from Sayo and it shows that she and Hina have finally made up and gave her heartfelt thanks to him, leaving Riku with a genuine smile.
End of Flashback
Sayo: And that's basically what happened.
Rinko: So Riku helped you with problems with Hina-chan.
Sayo: I owe it to him...and I couldn't thank him enough. If he hadn't corrected me that time...my bond with Hina might've been gone forever. So again...thank you Riku....
Rinko and Arisa's eyes widen up a bit when Sayo called Riku without honorifics. Rinko was thinking if Sayo is starting to have feelings for Riku.
Rinko: Alright...I'll join you. We just need to convince Yukina-san and I'm good.
Riku: All that's left is Ran, Kaoru and Chisato.
Sayo: What about Tamade-san?
Riku: Well she isn't the type of person who does things like going to a resort. She rather do things her way. And on that note.
Riku took out his phone and started typing.
Rinko: What're you typing Riku?
Riku: Aside from you, I'm sending a message to Ran, Kaoru, Chisato and Kokoro to have a video call tonight so we can discuss.
Rinko: I see....ummm...Riku...
Riku: Yes?
Rinko: That's your 9th straight cup....
Riku stopped drinking as he noticed 9 cups on the table which he didn't notice.
Arisa: Riku-san.....do you drink that much?
Riku:.....no...
Later....
Nagae Estate - Training Room - 4:30 P.M.
After school, Riku informed the band girls that CiRCLE is closed for the day because today was its weekly maintenance so they got a lot of free time. Riku and Mafuyu went straight back home and Youmu told the two siblings that Yuyuko was calling for her and Riku agreed. When the siblings reached the Nagae Estate, Riku decided to train Mafuyu on the lethality level of her lightning.
We cut to the training room and we see Mafuyu is kneeling down on the floor looking exhausted and Riku approaches her as he knelt down as well.
Riku: You're getting there. You've got the control, now the next step is to how lethal your lightning will be once you use it.
Mafuyu: Because I might kill someone by accident right?
Riku: You caught on well. Remember, like fire, lightning is a very dangerous element. It can kill someone in a moment's notice if one is not careful. I'm teaching you so you won't make that mistake. Let's have a short break then we go from there.
Mafuyu lied down on the floor as Riku sat down beside her.
Mafuyu: Nii-san...how long did you train? Though you were busy being.....you know....being a pro at that time?
Riku: Well, I kinda started my training when I was 9. It was grueling and hard, but I toughed it out in the end. As to how I manage my time....I had Ayabe at my side to manage my schedule. Nazuna should be doing it for you as well.
Mafuyu: I see...How did you survive the training?
Riku: Simple, I adapt. Mafuyu, we Nagae adapt quickly to any given situation. Your adaptability is not there yet because you're still new to your power. Give it time and for sure you'll get the hang of it.
Mafuyu got up as she sat on the floor as she asks Riku on why is he training her.
Mafuyu: Why train me in the first place?
Riku: Well.....how should I put this.....in your 18th birthday, you must pass a trial.
Mafuyu: A trial?
Riku: You have to face a member of the Celestial Families that is in the same age range as you.
Mafuyu: What? No...it can't be....right?
Riku: Unfortunately.....it is. A member of the Celestial Families must know how to fight. You just need to beat at least 1 member of your generation to complete the trial. When I did my trial, I had to face Yorihime and I barely won. You're still 16 and you have 2 more years till your trial starts. With me training you, I'm sure you can pass that easily. Once we got your lightning control is taken care of, we have to find a style that suits you best.
Mafuyu: That's reassuring...thank you.....nii-san.
Riku: No problem. So, how's the new class? Is Kokoro giving you a hard time?
Mafuyu: No. Kokoro has been helping me around.....well most of the time. Saaya and Rimi are also helping me from time to time, and I get to know my classmates as well. And I.....I kinda joined the Archery Club.
Riku: You joined the Archery Club? Sayo must be very happy to have you.
Mafuyu: She is....nii-san, let's go back to training.
Riku: Are you sure? I mean, you only rested for like 10 minutes.
Mafuyu: I don't want to be a burden. I want to continue.....until I find my true self.
Riku: Very well....Nazuna, call in Tina. Tell her to come to the training room. Also tell her to come here with her guns.
Nazuna: Very Well.
Mafuyu: Why do you need Tina-chan?
Riku: The next step of your training is for you to utilize your lightning defensively. Tina will be barraging you with bullets while you try to defend it using your lightning. This will train you on how much you need to generate when you're on the defense and to gauge on your limit. Don't worry, the bullets she'll be using are rubber bullets. Though non-lethal, it can still hurt like a bitch. Think you can do it?
Mafuyu: I'll try.
Riku only nodded as they turned around and both of them saw Tina entering the room with her rifle behind her and two pistols on her waist. And with that, Mafuyu's training resumed.
Riku's Room - 8:30 P.M.
After training Mafuyu along with Tina, the three of them took a quick rest and a quick shower, after that, the three proceeded to the dining room to have dinner and after that, they returned to their rooms.
Riku is at his PC as he is setting up his video call with his childhood friends as it's already at the assigned time. After a few minutes, Riku saw that they're online and he entered the call.
Riku: Good that all of you answered. I was worried you might not answer.
Kaoru: Come now ani-sama. I will always answer to your call.
Kokoro: Kaoru's right onii-chan! I wouldn't miss your call for everything!
Ran: But still, it's kinda rare that you sent us a message.
Chisato: If it's Riku, then it must be very important.
Riku: I wouldn't call it very important but I want your say in this as well. Rinko, how did it go?
Rinko: Well, me and Hikawa-san talked it to Yukina-san and she surprisingly agreed to it.
Riku: Really now? How come?
Rinko: Well...It appears that Yukina-san had a cough right now.
Having a cough is something that vocalists avoid. Ran and Kokoro knows it as well.
Ran: For Minato having a cough is kinda unbelievable....how's she doing right now?
Rinko: Yukina-san is doing good, Imai-san has been keeping an eye on her. For now, all practices are on hold till she gets better.
Riku: Hopefully she recovers quickly. Now on to other matters. Aside from Rinko, are you girls free on the weekends?
The girls aside from Rinko were curious as to why Riku asked them that, but they decided to answer it anyways.
Kokoro: Me and HaroHapi are having a tea party coming.
Chisato: Well I have to practice my lines and mostly my bass.
Ran: Nothing much in particular.....I hang out with Tsugumi at her cafe if I had the time. Or most likely practice my guitar.
Chisato: But why ask this?
Riku began to explain everything from how he got the voucher and the limit of people that he can bring and the reason why he called his childhood friends. Kokoro was the first to agree.
Kokoro: I'll go!! I think the others won't mind if I re-schedule the tea party at a later date. What about you Kaoru?
Kaoru: You know I won't let this opportunity pass. I'll take up on the offer ani-sama. For this is a chance to strengthen our bonds that we had for years. Ah~ hakanai.....
Chisato: Hmmm...you know what, I'm coming with you as well. It's not just a get together of sorts, I need a break as well. I'll talk it out with Aya-chan and the others, and someone needs to keep Kaoru in line while you're busy with Kokoro-chan.
Riku: That I can agree on. How about you Ran?
Ran: I'll accept....that if my father agrees to it. Hold on, I'll see if he can agree.
Ran left the call as she goes to her father to ask permission.
Kaoru: Ah yes...we need to ask them for permission. I think both of them will agree that I can go with you.
Chisato: I think I can go with no problems. My parents trust Riku so I'm good. Still....to think that the Nakiri had a deep history with the Celestial Families.....
Kokoro: Onii-chan, you said that the first year students of Tōtsuki are there right? That means Erina-chan is also there!
Riku: Yeah.....
Kokoro: Onii-chan, are you okay?
Riku: I'm okay Kokoro.....I'm just thinking on what I should bake once we got there.
Rinko: Wait, bake?
Riku: There's another reason why I took the voucher and didn't include this to what I said earlier on....let's wait for Ran to come back then we'll continue.
They waited for a few minutes and Ran returned from her father.
Riku: So, how did it go?
Ran: He said that I can go. He asked me where, and when I told him that I was going to the Tootsuki Resort, he said that I had to deliver something there.
Chisato: Deliver?
Ran: Apparently, my father arranged some flowers that the hotel requested and they want it delivered by the end of the week. If it's okay with you....
Riku: Sure, no problem. I just need to ask grandfather to use the van for us to use. And on that side note. All of you got permission right?
Rinko: Yes. Now that Mitake-san is here, kindly explain what's the other reason that you haven't told us.
Riku: Okay...Sanzaemon-dono wants me to give those students a reality check.
Ran: A reality check? But why?
Riku: Well, he said that they needed a push.....and he asked me to do it.
Kaoru: Are you sure you can handle it ani-sama?
Riku: I can. And just so you know, if I wasn't a musician, I would've enrolled at Tootsuki at that time. You'll find out why once we get there.
Chisato: Okay....for now, we should prepare on what we'll bring.
Kaoru: Agreed.
Ran: I think I should start preparing as well.
Kokoro: I'll start right now!
Rinko: I should start too.....
Riku: Okay, but don't rush or you might forget something okay?
The call ended and the girls started to prepare. And before Riku even began to do his thing. He received a message from Johan.
Riku: A message from Johan? A link? Let's see....OG is invited to the Riyadh Masters?
Riku opened the message that Johan sent him and it was an invite. It showed that OG is invited to participate at the Riyadh Masters that will be held a week after the Future World Fes. Riku looked at the other bands invited and he saw the list of bands.

Riku: So aside from OG and Team Spirit, the other rank 1 bands in each region are invited as well. The rest of the spots will be decided through qualifiers.....bummer that I won't be able to compete....and they made a qualifiers for MENA....kinda obvious as they're the hosts.

I disabled the lock on the door and the door opened and it was Ayabe with a travel case beside him.
Riku: Ayabe. I see that you brought it.
Ayabe: Yes. I brought your travel case as you instructed.
Riku: Thank you for doing this...how's your training going?
Ayabe: It's going well Riku-sama. I have some free time to be by your side for a while, and if I manage to finish my training at a fast pace, I can return to your side by December.
Riku: That's good to hear. Just don't rush things. Now if you excuse me, it's time for me to prepare as well, after that I'll call it a day. Oh yeah, can you tell grandfather that I'll be using that car for the trip.
Ayabe: Understood.
Ayabe left and Riku starts to pack up.
The next day....
May 28, 2021 - Friday - 5:30 A.M.
Riku POV
Today's Friday and it's the day that me and my childhood friends are going to Tōtsuki Resort later in the afternoon. I informed the resort that I booked 3 first class suites under the name "Nagae". The front desk informed me that we are to check-in at 5:30 in the afternoon and is set to check-out at 4:30 in the afternoon at Sunday.
Last night, I called Ran's father, Masayoshi to tell him that I'll deliver the flowers that Tōtsuki requested from him and he was grateful for it. He told me that the flowers must be at the resort before noon.
(A/N: There is no information in regards of Ran's Father's name so I'm going with this.)
So I informed my grandfather to go to the Mitake family to deliver the flowers on our behalf and he agreed with it.
Normally I would be doing my usual routine to do my daily jog today, but I decided to go to the archery range to clear my mind. And when I reached the archery range, I see Mafuyu already with a bow in hand along with grandfather.
Riku: I didn't expect you to wake up early Mafuyu.
Mafuyu: Good morning nii-san. I woke up early because I got a good rest. Kanade and the others had something coming up so the meeting was on hold. Grandfather is here to see my form.
Kyoya: And I can say, her form is very textbook...however....your arms are a bit stiff. Relax and breathe.
Mafuyu did what grandfather instructed her to do, she readies her bow....breathed in.....
Kyoya: Let it flow...and.....release.
Mafuyu released the arrow into the target and it landed right in the center. Me and grandfather were smiling and grandfather just nodded in approval.
Kyoya: An impressive release Mafuyu.
Mafuyu: Thank you. Nii-san, I think it's your turn.
Riku: Then I'll take the next shot.
Mafuyu gave the bow to me as I took a deep breath and made my stance. I closed my eyes as I pull the bowstring, I opened my eyes, lightly exhaled...and release.
I released the arrow as it hits the target in the center. Not just the center.....it pierced through Mafuyu's arrow.
Mafuyu: Incredible....
Kyoya: As expected from you. I guess Eirin's pointers did you well.
Riku: She drilled it into me when she had the chance.
Mafuyu: Wait. Eirin...you mean the doctor that I met?
Kyoya: Yes, she's not just a doctor, but an excellent archer as well. Her skills with the bow is far superior to mine.
Mafuyu: I see...do you think she can teach me?
Kyoya: That depends on her. I'll keep in touch to see if she can teach you. You two can continue what you're doing and finish up by 6:30, you have still have school today.
Riku/Mafuyu: Hai.
Grandfather left me and Mafuyu in the archery range as we continue without him.
A Few Hours Later
Hanasakigawa Girls High School - Principal's Office - 12:30 P.M.
3rd POV
After the two siblings finished their thing in the archery range, the two had a quick shower and changed into their uniform as they had breakfast and getting ready for school. Nothing much happened throughout the morning as we cut to lunch.
We go to the Principal's Office where Riku is with Yuyuko and Youmu who just finished eating lunch.....well.....the two of them. Yuyuko on the other hand was having extra servings of food that Youmu brought. After 10 minutes of eating, Yuyuko is wiping her mouth with a napkin with a satisfied smile.
Yuyuko: That was good~ It's been a while since I tasted Youmu's cooking. I'm sorry that Youmu hasn't been at your side for the past few days Riku-kun.
Riku: Don't be. I'm more than capable of handling things on my own. Although, it might be slower than I usually do when I had Ayabe on my side, but I get the job done.
Yuyuko: Hm.....anyway, I called you here because I want to show you something.
Yuyuko pulled her drawer and showed Riku a stack of papers and gave it to him.
Riku: These are the feedbacks of my transfer here....
Yuyuko: I've read through all of them, and I say that all of those feedbacks are filled with positive reviews. As expected from me.
Riku: But don't get complacent Yuyuko-san. True that we're getting positive review, but it's because it's me. I won't say the same to other males out there. I won't be surprised that once I'm gone, the male students that will enroll here are the embodiment of lust and try to bang every girl in sight.....then the school's reputation will plummet and I would obviously take all the flak.
Youmu: Riku-kun's right Yuyuko-sama. Some other males are very different from Riku-kun. We won't know if the male student that will enroll here will have an ulterior motive.
Yuyuko: Hmmmmm...what to do...
Riku: Then how about we set a selection process?
The two ghosts(Youmu is half-ghost) looked at Riku as he said his suggestion.
Yuyuko: Selection process?
Riku: Take it this way. The enrollment for female students will go as is. But for the males, aside from the academic exams, why not hold an interview along with it. And to make sure they won't sugarcoat what they say, we'll put a lie detector to make sure.
Youmu: Isn't a lie detector a little bit too much?
Riku: The Komeiji had commissioned Nitori to create a lie detector that doesn't look like a lie detector at the same time. That way, it can be disguised as an object but what they don't know that it's a lie detector all along.
Yuyuko: How did you know that?
Riku: Koishi blurted it out by accident. Try to ask Satori-san in getting one, she might give you one as a test run. They'll be releasing it at the end of the year.
Yuyuko: Hmmmm...I'll see what I can do. And for your suggestion on the enrollment, we can apply that next year. With it, we can sort out the ones fitted to be here and not.
Riku: Just don't go too far.
Yuyuko: I know....I heard from Kyoya-san that you and your childhood friends are going to the Tōtsuki Resort after class right?
Riku: Yeah...want me to send Gin-san your regards?
Yuyuko: I would like that, thank you.
Yuyuko said that with a light blush on her face and Youmu seemed to notice, but decided not to pry on it.
Yuyuko: So you got everything ready?
Riku: Yeah, I had Ayabe help me a bit. And as for the vehicle....I was planning to use the family van but.....I think it's time for me to use that.
Yuyuko: You mean that? Riku-kun, you haven't even tested it yet.
Riku: Like they say "There's a first time for everything".
Yuyuko sighed as she was concerned for Riku's safety, and more concerned for the girls safety.
Yuyuko: Very well, just be careful.
Riku: I will. Oh right, I forgot to say this. No sweets for you for the next 2 months.
Yuyuko heard it and Riku can see her face became pale.
Yuyuko: NO RIKU-KUN! ANYTHING BUT THAT!! I CAN'T SURVIVE THE NEXT 2 MONTHS WITHOUT EATING THE SWEETS YOU MAKE!!!
Riku was unfazed as he leaves the room.
Riku: Consider this as punishment for prying on me and Rinko.
Riku left the room and Youmu was just looking at the defeated Yuyuko who was still crying on the floor.
Youmu: I told you that you had it coming.
Yuyuko: YOU'RE NOT HELPING!!!!
Few Hours Later
Nagae Estate - Main Garage - 4:00 P.M.
After school ended, Riku told Rinko, Kokoro and Chisato to get everything ready as he will pick them up from their homes. He also texted Kaoru and Ran to get ready as well.
Riku has everything ready, right now he's at the garage trying to get the car that he'll use for the trip. A few minutes later, he found the car he wanted to use.
(A/N: The color scheme of the car is dark violet. Don't ask me cause that's Riku's color.)
The BMW IX (I20). One of BMW's latest electric car models that will be out in the market later in July. Reason why Riku has one is because the company gifted this to him and the boys for their victory at TI10. Riku asked the company if it was okay to customize it and they said that he's free to do what he want, and that he did. The cost was just at least $350,000 to customize.
As the car is being placed at the garage entrance, Kyoya entered as he sees Riku off.
Kyoya: So you're going to use that? You know you haven't even tested it right?
Riku: I mean, I can't just let this one stay and collect dust.
Kyoya: Right. Anyway, do take care of yourself okay?
Riku: Will do.
As Kyoya said his word, Riku put his luggage at the trunk as he got on the car. He gave his grandfather a thumbs up as he drove out of the garage as he heads first to Rinko's house.
When Riku got to Rinko's house, she was already outside waiting for him to pick her up. Her parents asked Riku to take care of her and he said yes. Riku helped Rinko in putting her luggage in the trunk and sat beside him as their next destination is Kokoro's house.
When they reached the Tsurumaki Mansion, Kokoro was already waiting outside with excitement and beside her are two travel cases. Kaoru was also there alongside Kokoro. Like with Rinko, both of them put their luggage in the trunk, got in the car as they drove to Chisato's place.
When they reached Chisato's home, Chisato was just leaving the house. When she saw Riku, she was glad that he was on time in picking her up, but her mood fell down when she saw Kaoru. She put her luggage in the trunk as she sat beside Kokoro. Now they left the Shirasagi residence and make their way to Ran's.
When they reached the Mitake house, Ran is already waiting outside alongside her father. Her father told Riku that he got a message from Tōtsuki that the flowers were safely delivered and was thankful for it. He also told Riku to keep an eye on her daughter and Ran just blushed from it. As she put her luggage in the trunk, her father told her to take care of herself and she just nodded with a smile as she gets on the car and they finally make their way to the Tōtsuki Resort.
One Hour Later
Tōtsuki Resort - 5:30 P.M.
Riku and the girls arrived at the Tōtsuki Resort on time. When they got to the entrance, they were greeted by the valet and asks Riku if it's okay for the valet to drive the car so he could park it, and Riku agreed. They took their luggage as they enter the resort and make their way to the front desk. In the front desk, there was a woman with long bright brown hair and dark gold eyes who was expecting of their arrival.
???: Welcome to the Tōtsuki Resort. I'm Futatsugi Chihiro. And we've been expecting you Nagae-sama.
Riku: I take that Sanzemon-dono has told you about our stay?
Chihiro: Hai. You're rooms are already ready for you. We just need to confirm the names of the other guests that you brought along.
Riku: Very well. Aside from me, they're Shirokane Rinko, Shirasagi Chisato, Mitake Ran, Seta Kaoru and Tsurumaki Kokoro.
Chihiro: There. Their names are already written in the log. Please wait for the valet to-
???: No. I'll see them to their rooms myself.
They turned to the direction where the voice came from. And they saw a man that has a buzzed brown hair, noticeably sharp eyes, and his eyebrows resemble sideways "V"s. Additionally, he sports a round, sliver stud earring in his left ear wearing a business suit.
Chihiro: Chef Dojima!
The man is Dojima Gin. The head chef of the resort and one of Tōtsuki's representatives.
Gin: It's good to see you, Riku.
Riku: Good to see you again, Gin-san. Yuyuko-san sends her regards.
Gin: I-I see....very well then, like I said earlier, I'll take you to your rooms.
Riku and the girls followed Gin to the elevator as he guides them to their assigned room.
Tōtsuki Resort - 8th Floor
They've reached the 8th floor of the resort, they've arrived at the room that was given to them and Gin opened the door as he shows them around.
Gin: This is the suite that you six will be staying through the weekend. This suite has 6 bedrooms with it's very own shower, a living room, a kitchen with everything you need to cook and a balcony where you can see the very nature that Tōtsuki provides.
The girls were beyond surprised on how luxurious the room is. Riku asked Gin if they got the wrong room.
Riku: This is too much for a first class suite. Ain't this the VIP type of thing?
Gin: Well the thing is, the first years of Tōtsuki are doing their training camp and they're using the first class suites. Although that this suite doesn't cover the voucher, don't worry. This one is on us. Now go and pick you rooms. Riku, once you're done, meet me at my office.
Riku: Very well. I'll see you later.
Gin left them as Riku took a good look at the room one more time.
Riku: Well, you girls pick any room you like. And whatever's left will be my room.
Kaoru: Where are you going ani-sama?
Riku: Gin-san told me he wanted to talk to me in his office. Don't worry, I won't be long.
Chisato: Very well. We'll take care of things here.
Ran: We'll make sure that Seta and Tsurumaki won't go overboard while you're away.
Riku: Okay, I'm trusting you.
Riku left the girls as he goes to Gin's office.
Tōtsuki Resort - Gin's Office
6:00 P.M.
Riku POV
After picking my room and left the girls to their own devices, one of the hotel staff is already waiting in the front door and told me that Gin-san sent him to pick me up.
After following the hotel staff, we reached Gin-san's office.
Hotel Staff: Chef Dojima, I've brought him like you asked.
Gin: Good, bring him in. You may go.
The staff left and I opened the door and I saw Gin-san sitting on his chair as he was waiting for me. I closed the door and he got up.
Gin: I'm glad you've come like I told you.
Riku: I did. So? What do you want to talk?
Gin: Follow me. Just do what I say and you'll understand. This involves the first years next task. Normally I would announce this at 10 tonight, and since you're here, I think your presence is enough pressure for the students.
So he's using me as a part of their exam eh? This piqued my interest as I want to see how Tōtsuki assess their students. Grandfather told me that they can go as far as expelling at least 90%, but I'll see to believe it.
Riku: Very well, I'll bite.
I followed Gin-san as we head to the main banquet hall where the remaining students wait for their task while Gin-san was explaining the content of the exam as we go.
We're at the back of the stage and Gin-san told me to stop.
Gin: Wait here and wait for my signal.
I nodded as Gin-san went to the stage as he has a microphone in his right hand.
Gin: Ok, seems everyone has gathered here. Everyone, please give your attention to the stage.
The students turned their attention to Gin-san while I was watching everything unfold from here.
Gin: Now, as you're wondering why you haven't done the usual dinner serving task right? Well you won't have to worry about that, because you won't be doing that tonight.
The students were having a huge sigh of relief when Gin-san said that. I can tell that some of the students are on the verge of collapsing. Gin-san looked at me and I quickly understood his intentions.
Riku(Whisper): I see, so you're planning that I will be the one to explain the next task....
Gin: What you need to worry is...that your next task begins right now.
I can see the relief from the students were gone in an instant and it was replaced by fear and a huge amount of pressure. Some of them plan to back out now, but I don't blame them.
Gin: For this next task, I won't be the one who will give you the run-down. Now, if you may.
At Gin-san's call, I went out of the back and made my way to the stage. I can hear several people talking to themselves as to question that why am I here. I notice a long haired honey-blonde girl with eyes of disbelief upon seeing me.....I assume that girl is Erina. Gin-san explains to the students before he gave the microphone to me.
Gin: Now, I can see the questions in your eyes as to who is this young man in the stage. This young man is Nagae Riku. The heir of the Nagae Family and a member of the twelve Celestial Families. His family is one of Tōtsuki's major shareholders. Although the Nagae aren't a part of the culinary world, they helped Tōtsuki become to what it is today. Riku, you have the floor.
Gin-san gave me the microphone as he stepped back as I gave them their task.
Riku: Thank you Gin-san for the explanation. Like he said, I am Nagae Riku. As to why am I here in this prestigious hotel, is because me and 5 of my childhood friends are having a short break throughout the weekend. Now I can see the pressure from your faces, I can see your fear. Fear of failing, fear of cracking into pressure just to impress.....then you have nothing to worry about. Instead, I want to see the real you once you stepped in the kitchen. Show me that you are the real deal, show me why you are here in Tōtsuki, your creativity, your passion and most of all, your drive to become the best. Show it to me tomorrow and if some of you manage to impress me, I might be able to help if something troubles you. You have my word.
The negativity from the students vanished as it was replaced with hope and a huge wave of confidence. I grinned at their faces as they were more motivated than ever.
Riku: Now that you're all motivated, let me explain to all of you your next task. The theme of your next task is "Breakfast". You are to create a breakfast menu that is fitting for the guests here at the Tōtsuki Resort. You see, breakfast is the hotel's "Face"....it's a very important meal to start the day for anyone. For their table, we want you to propose a course. One that shines like a jewel, and has a fresh surprise. And as for the ingredient...it's this.
I snapped my fingers as the curtains behind me showed a huge tray of eggs behind me. I picked up an egg as I present it to the students.
Riku: The ingredient for your next task is this egg. Whether the regular ones, the ones came from a ranch, Quail eggs it doesn't matter. You must create a breakfast dish using any type of egg you want. And as to how you present it is up to you. It could be a Japanese dish, a Western dish or an Italian dish, it doesn't matter.
The students are already thinking of what to make with so may options given to them.....well.....time to drop a bomb on them.
Riku: For this task, the format will be a buffet-type breakfast. And the exam will begin...at 6 A.M. tomorrow.
The students let out an "Eh" in which I can hear very well. One of the students called me if I was just pulling their leg.
Student: Um....sir?
Riku: Don't need to call me sir, just call me by my name.
Student: Alright. Um....Riku-san....did you say 6 A.M.?
Riku: Yes, I did. Normally Gin-san wants to announce this at 10, but since there's a change in plans, we decided to announce right at this time.
The students shuddered at the idea where they had to prepare right at midnight without getting a wink of sleep, but at the same time, they were relieved as it was announced to them very early, this gave them the time to think on what to serve tomorrow.
Riku: The kitchens are available to all of you by 8 tonight if you want to start. They will be open to all students until morning. And once you decided on your dish and tasted everything that is needed, you can use the remaining time to rest.
I gave the microphone back to Gin-san as he finished it off.
Gin: Well then.....let's meet again tomorrow at 6 in the morning. Like Riku said, show us that you have what it takes to become a student in Tootsuki. DISMISSED!!!!
As Gin-san dismissed the students, I followed him towards the back and looked back one more time.
Gin: You did well right there Riku. You were a natural out there.
Riku: Thanks. With 5 years of experience of playing music in front of thousands in a weekly basis, I'm kinda used to it.
Gin: And here I am wondering why you retired.
Riku: I retired because I was tired Gin-san. I could barely keep up with the schedule. If weren't for Ayabe, I would've collapsed before then.
Gin: So it's similar to Joichiro.....so you've found the one?
Riku: I did....I just need to settle some things that regards with the family.
Gin: I see.....aside from that. I heard from the director that he asked you to bake something for the students right?
Riku: Yeah, he did tell me that. In exchange of baking for this training camp, I get a favor directly from Sanzaemon-dono....I have some ideas. I plan to test it once I get back to my room.
Gin: I look forward to it. You may return, sorry for wasting your time.
Riku: It wasn't a waste Gin-san. I can see some of them have what it takes to break through. It's only a matter of time.....and the need a certain push to do it.
Gin: That I can agree. By the way, there is a surprise for you tomorrow. I hope you like it.
Riku: A surprise for me? Alright....I'll see to it tomo-
Before I finished, I got a message from Ran that Kokoro bolted out of the room.
Riku: I had to leave now. My cousin just ran out of the room to god knows where.
Gin: Very well....
With that I left Gin-san and begin my search for Kokoro. Hopefully she doesn't go overboard.
Meanwhile with the students
3rd POV
After Riku and Gin left, the students that were left behind were either brainstorming for their dish tomorrow or going to sleep early as they heard that the kitchen is open for them until the next morning.
???: Heh, it's finally here. A test worth competing over.
A boy with blue eyes and short blonde hair with a fringe that parts to both sides and one long bang in between the two said in full confidence is Takumi Aldini as he pointed out his finger to a boy with dark red hair and yellow eyes with a vertical scar on his left eyebrow is Yukihira Soma. Son of Yukihira Jouichiro.
Takumi: Look forward to it Yukihira! With Italy's classic egg dishes arranged in the Aldini Style...I'll show you a supreme breakfast!!
Soma: Oh? What kind of classic egg dishes does Italy have?
Soma asked the question to a young man that is obese with brownish-black hair that is combed backwards and is very spiky. He is Isami Aldini, younger brother of Takumi who just casually answered Soma's question.
Isami: Well, let's see...there are eggs with cheese, or mixed with vegetables....
Takumi: Isami!!! Why are you telling this to him?!
Isami: I mean he asked!!
Soma: But anyway.....that Nagae really is somethin'. I saw everyone else were so down they're about to collapse, and just him saying a few words lift their spirits up.
Takumi: You're right.....and to think that we have to present our dish to him.....is he even a chef?
Soma: Yuki, Ryoko. What's wrong?
Soma turned to one of his friends. One is a tall girl with long fuchsia hair and orange eyes, and the other one is a short girl with amber colored hair tied neatly into two buns on the sides of hear head and has teal colored eyes. They were Sakaki Ryoko and Yoshino Yuki. Soma's friends from the Polar Star Dormitory.
Yuki: I can't believe we get to meet him...it's like a dream come true....
Soma: Who are you talking to?
Yuki: You don't know who he is Yukihira?! He's the one and only Iku!
Soma: Iku?
Ryoko: You really don't know? Very well I'll give you the short explanation. Nagae Riku or his known stage name Iku, is one of the most successful musicians that Japan has to offer. And he's one of the best guitarists in the world.
Takumi: I heard of him. When me and Isami were working back in Italy back then, I manage to hear some of our customers talking about him. They say that he's a once in a century talent. Capable of mastering any instrument that he has his hands on.
Ryoko: Well that's a part of it, his greatest achievement was winning The International 3 years in a row. A tournament that is on the same level as the BLUE. If the BLUE is the chefs biggest tournament, then The International is for musicians. And he did all of that when he was 16 years old...and he's 19 this year.
The two young chefs were awed from hearing Riku's accomplishments, the other students that were there manage to listen to the conversation as well.
Isami: And yet, he shows no arrogance despite his success.
Soma: Rather than pressure us, he gave us motivation to become better.....I think I know what to do...oi Nakiri, where are you going?
Soma called Erina as she leaves the hall in a fast pace along with a girl with short pink hair.
Erina: It doesn't concern you. It's better for you to focus on your task. Just so you know I can't beat you if you get expelled. Hisako, let's go.
Hisako: Hai, Erina-sama.
Soma: What's wrong with her?
Takumi: I don't know.....but I noticed Nakiri-san was....surprised?
Yuki: At what? Iku showing up?
Ryoko: You think that they had a past?
Yuki just shrugged her shoulders as she had no idea why Erina left so quick.
Meanwhile with Erina and Hisako
Hisako: Erina-sama....are you alright?
Erina: I'm fine Hisako....I just need to relax for a bit...I can't believe he's here.....
Hisako: Erina-sama if I may be rude.....do you have a past with Nagae Riku?
Erina: It was a long time ago...I knew him because both of our grandfathers were best friends.....
Hisako: Did something happen bad between the two of you?
Erina: No.....It's just.....it's been years since I last saw him.
Kokoro: Erina-chan!!!
What the two female chefs didn't expect is that the honey blonde girl got tackled down by a young girl with lemon blonde hair as she was hugging the former in a tight hug.
Hisako: Erina-sama!! You!! How dare you push down Erina-sama!!
Erina who was at the ground was looking at the person who tackled her down and she couldn't believe her eyes.
Erina: K-Kokoro-nee?
Kokoro hearing that mad her smile even brighter.
Kokoro: And you still remember me!!
Hisako: Erina-sama, who is she? And why did you call her Kokoro-nee?
Erina: Kokoro-nee, can you get off of me first.
Kokoro let go of Erina as both of them got back in their feet.
Erina: Hisako, this is Tsurumaki Kokoro.
Hisako: Tsurumaki? The Tsurumaki?
Erina just nodded in confirmation. Hisako apologized to Kokoro for raising her voice against her.
Hisako: I'm very sorry for my actions earlier! I'm Arato Hisako, Erina-sama's secretary.
Kokoro: It's okay, I don't mind. Say Erina-chan, is she your-
Riku: Kokoro! There you are! I got a call from Ran and she said that you dashed away and-
Riku stopped in his tracks and makes eye contact with Erina. Erina was looking at Riku as she tries to hold back her tears and Riku just let out a warm smile.
Erina: R-Riku.....nii-sama....
Riku: It's been 5 years.....Erina.
