"Do you think someone had taken her?" Travis's question stuck in her mind, replaying like a broken record.

Suddenly, her heartbeat quickened, faster than before. Then, her palms trembled as tiny beads of sweat spread across her body, and this time, she believed it had nothing to do with this man's presence.

Her friend was missing, or possibly someone had taken her. At least, that was what her muddled brain comprehended from the conversation.

"Oh my!" Her friend was missing. And here she was, fussing over that stupid kiss.

Yeah, he kissed her.

And damn!

She kissed him back. Like a crazed starving woman, she threw caution in the wind and savored every minute she was in his arms.

Luckily, someone knocked on the door, interrupting them, or else, she did not know how long she could have resisted his advances.
