Bow or Die.
Iron Man shouted, "Heads up!" as the plane launched a volley of missiles that separated the team upon exploding. Superman took the brunt and had to drop Silverflash so he didn't take any damage. Ironman flew and grabbed Silverflash before he could drop too far.
Storm separated the new arrivals with lightning bolts, the same way the pilot of the aircraft had done to their group. Knowing that J'onn's strength was more important than his, Logan called out, "J'onn, let me take Devilbat. You help them."
Nodding his head, J'onn let Logan's telekinesis take hold of Devilbat and he quickly went to help fight the newcomers.
Logan and Devilbat watched as the plane made a quick turn and strafed Superman with its guns again, knocking him around in the air.
"Get us to that plane, maybe we can do something about it."
Logan looked at Devilbat, "Just how far can you see with your sonar?"
"Far enough. Your wasting time."
Logan just followed Devilbat's instructions and charged at the plane from an angle he thought would be hard to detect them from.
As the pilot was still concentrating on Superman, Logan dropped Devilbat on the main body of the plane and he flew to the canopy.
Logan noticed that the pilot was Owlman and knowing what a wildcard he could be, he knew it was best to take him out of the fight quickly. He reared back to punch the canopy, but it opened and in doing so clipped his chin making him stumble back a couple steps.
Owlman stood up from his seat and pulled out an oversized gun, he pointed it directly at Logans head, "Get of my plane!"
Just before he could pull the trigger though Devilbat knocked the gun out of his hand with a well thrown wing.
Logan charged Owlman and threw a right hook. Owlman grabbed his right fist and redirected the force away from him and then reached out and grabbed Logans left hand as well.
Logan wasn't worried, and started to use his full strength to push Owlman back only to be surprised when he heard several small motors start up and increase Owlman's strength to match his own.
(He must have an exosuit built into his outfit.) Logan thought before Owlman tried to headbutt him. Logan ducked under the headbutt and turned his body while crossing Owlman's arms in front of him then using a judo throw Nightwing had taught him, he threw Owlman over his shoulder.
It seemed the exosuit slowed down Owlman's reactions enough that the amateurish throw worked. Logan had thrown him hard enough that Owlman was unable to gain a purchase with his claws and fell from the plane.
Logan watched as his cape became a glider and Owlman floated away.
Ironman had grabbed Silverflash and Logan thought it would be best to take over the plane and get all the nonfliers abord, so he went for the seat only to be beaten to the punch by Devilbat who quickly started to run his hands over the controls. "Get in." he was told.
Several more members of the Crime Syndicate had joined the battle by now and there were more coming on the horizon. Devilbat started to fire missiles from the plane to disrupt the enemy groupings on its way to collect Silverflash from Ironman.
As soon as we were close Logan radioed to Ironman, "Let Silverflash go, I will catch him, and he can board the plane freeing up your hands." Once he was abord Devilbat took another run at a group of enemies keeping them from grouping up.
"Is that one of us in Owlman's plane?" Lex asked over our comms.
"Three of us in here to be exact. Needed to get the nonfliers a ride, He decided to float home as our need was bigger than his." Logan replied.
"Then there may be a way out of this mess. Swing around for me."
Devilbat banked in his direction and opened the belly door for Luthor to get abord. Seeing that Superman was outnumbered, Devilbat took aim at one of the opponents and let loose with another line of ordinance.
Logan noticed that the last shots had hit Superwoman and apparently pissed her off enough to start chasing them.
As she started gaining on the plane, Lex was looking over the controls. "Where is it?"
"What are you looking for?" Devilbat asked from the pilot's seat.
"The Chameleon circuit. Owlman used to drive me crazy with it."
"If it's like my Devilwing, all the special options are on my left shoulder for quick and easy access."
Lex quickly started looking over the area he was told. "Found it!" Lex quickly pushed the button.
Logan called out, "Scary hot girl is almost on us guys."
The plane started to shimmer as whatever button Lex pushed started to take effect. Soon the plane was gone from sight and Superwoman was swinging her fist in frustration at empty air.
Once they were clear of Superwoman, Devilbat contacted the rest of the team, "Group up, we will be above you in an invisible jet in moments. Be ready, we want to take them by surprise so we can clear out quickly."
Devilbat punched the button for the belly door, "Now, let's go!"
"Our ride's here let's go!" Superman called out and everyone hurried aboard. As soon as he got confirmation that we had everyone, Devilbat went full throttle away from the enemies.
Superwoman, seeing them escaping called out to her made men, "Strafe the skies!"
The three gathered and pooled their power and lightning began to gather and randomly strike in a wide area.
From inside the plane Wonder Woman's eyes glowed white and she redirected many of the lightning bolts to strike Superwoman and her crowd.
Shortly after that, Devilbat called out, "We have lost them. At least for the moment."
Ironman walked into the cockpit area, "So geniuses, where to? Any other groups of bad guys you want to drop us into?"
"I think I know a place."
-(Scene Shift0)-
A tall metallic structure on the moon was lit up from the inside as the group that ran the Crime Syndicate sat around a table that read [CSA] and under that read [CUI BONO].
A strong Australian accent was heard, "Yeah, got handed a right thumping I heard. Let our fucking side down a bit, didn't ya?"
Ultraman pounded his fist on the table, "Come to order."
Once he had the attention of the others, "First business. We need to decide who to call up to replace J'arkus. God rest his soul."
"There's no managerial talent in that organization, Angelique was the closest thing and she died with J'edd J'arkus. We should dissolve them and split up his territory."
"Right, seems to me like you've already helped yourself to the Martian's crew. You had the whole big bunch of them with you this morning." Johnny kicked back as he spoke.
Made Men need to be associated with one of the family heads, if you want some of them, just ask."
Zeke ran his fingers over the red and silver helmet in front of him, "We can horse trade for manpower any time. What about the turf?" He directed this question at Ultraman.
The only female voice in the group spoke up, "I'm with Owlman. We'll divide his action between the five of us."
"Who died and made you boss?" Zeak asked.
"You wanna arm wrestle for it?" she asked as she placed her elbow on the table.
"Knock it off. We'll work out details later. For now, Owlman can keep J'edd J'arkus' guys."
Johnny snickered, "From what I heard, sounds like you could have used a few dozen more."
"Luthor's new Justice League is not to be underestimated."
"Neither are we. They'll fold." Zeak said.
"Or we'll fold them! Just like everybody else who gets in our way." Ultraman finished.
Owlman stood up, pushing his chair back. "Which brings us to the topic at hand. Last meeting, five of the six family heads approved of project Damocles. Per our vote, I have begun construction on this."
Owlman pushed a button and a holographic image of a large (American) Football shaped object appeared for all to see. "The Quantum Eigenstate Device. Once completed, the QED will give us life and death power over the entire planet."
"We spent 37 billion on government bribes last year alone. No more of that. We'll be the government. Only less corrupt." Ultraman stood and reached out for the image in front of him.
"I still don't see why they would give up the little bit of power they got left?" Zeak said.
"Because if they don't, we'll do this." Owlman pressed another button, and the QED image began to move. "The device's Heisenberg uncertainty override allows us to tap into a limitless pool of destructive energy." The holographic show ended with a net over the globe and showed the ability to strike whatever it wanted.
Everyone at the table was grinning in anticipation at having so much power at their fingertips.
"Which leaves the governments of the world with two choices: Bow down to The Syndicate or die."
