Capítulo 55: The Death Of The Goblins
After saying my goodbyes to the crew once again, I left the stargate universe and went back to the marvel universe taking Yuto along with me. When we arrived, I was met with news of Oscorp's decline. Apparently the business hadn't been doing well for quite some time and just recently they could no longer keep up appearances. It also explained why Norman Osborn was so willing to try and latch on to fresh ideas from a company that came out of nowhere, no matter how wealthy we appeared or what we were selling.
There was a current battle going on between Von doom industries, Stark Industries, and Hammer Industries as they fought to obtain ownership of Oscorp. Little did any of these big tech companies know, I had predicted something would happen to Oscorp long before it's collapse was noticeable and had Vi'kog buy the stocks from the majority shareholders behind the scenes before news of it's demise became public. The shareholders knowing the company was all but doomed were happy to sale their stocks for cheap knowing they would be worthless soon.
I wondered if my theft had sped up the process of the companies failure. I felt no guilt on the matter either way. I was just curious to my direct impact on the places I visit. It was interesting to me that I could influence worlds and change what happens in them by just existing. While everyone else had a set future for the most part. I did not and by living my life I changed their set futures to some extent making things like destiny a bit more murky and less set in stone.
This also leaves it up for discussion that due to my existence and the choices of others changing, that the main universes I go to are no longer the main universes after my influence and I am actually just creating a new parallel world each time I travel. I can't say for certain, but it is a possibility.
I did know for a fact that the Marvel universe I was born into wasn't exactly the same as the MCU universe I knew of just for the fact I existed. Also my brother Thane was never mentioned in the MCU as far as I knew. It didn't mean he didn't exist, but it's weird that he was never mentioned even though Thano's adopted daughters were. I had only met Nebula and Gamora a few times in my life and although both sisters treated me well, they watched on as my father and brother used me as a slave due to either fear or not caring enough.
When I was forced to eat my arm, all my siblings were present. Thane laughed at my weak self, My father had no expression, Gamora turned her head away, and Nebula watched with faint tears in her eyes. Nebula although mostly robotic, seemed to care the most about me. She even called me 'little brother' fondly anytime she saw me although we only ever saw each other a small number of times as I grew up.
Thinking about my Siblings I wondered what they were currently up to. Thane although extremely powerful had little to no control over his numerous powers and killed many people unintentionally just by walking around. I was sure he was currently still on a quest to find a way to control his power, but I couldn't be certain of anything.
I wondered if Gamora had already met Starlord and the crew and was on a journey with them as Guardians of the Galaxy or was still currently by my fathers side. When I had left she and Nebula both were no longer on missions and were around more than before.
I knew Nebula was for sure by my fathers side currently and I felt bad for leaving her alone, but she was tough and I knew her future was bright so I wasn't too worried. Getting stronger was the best thing I could do for both of us. Trying to play white knight trying to save my sister now would only get me humiliated and possibly killed. Thanos was extremely hard on all of his children, but I knew deep down he cared for all of us to some extent. None the less, I will kill him and I believe in my heart he would understand.
As I was thinking about my family, Vi'kog spoke up. "My King, Stark industries is on the line, It's actually Tony Stark himself, he says he would like to speak with you".
Oh? I had not predicted this. Picking up the phone I answered. "Mr. Stark! For what do I owe the pleasure?"
On the other side of the phone I heard a sigh. "How did you know?"
It didn't take my Titan brain to understand what he was referring to and I had already had an excuse ready for anyone that might have asked. "How did I know Oscorp was in shambles and to buy up everything I could before they announced the news? If that's the question, the answer is quite simple. I recently met with Osborn and I could tell by many things including how desperate he acted when I made a few proposals to him while we ate at the handshake for business, It was pretty obvious to me that he and the business was on the verge of collapse".
"You sure did pop up out of nowhere and started making a name for yourself. If you don't mind me asking, where did you come from?" Asked Stark clearly not buying my response.
I laughed out loud at the bitterness in his voice. I understood where he was coming from though. He has the most advanced A.I. in the world and he had no idea about Oscorp and somehow I did. Not only that, his A.I. has almost nothing on me except for the fake backstory I made public on our website. I was sure that if he dug enough he would find out I didn't belong if he hadn't already, but I didn't care. I doubted he would anyway.
"Sorry Tony, but i'm a pretty private man, I don't see a reason to answer that, but since I have you on the line I should tell you now, you better step up your game if you want to keep up with me in the future".
I could imagine Tony rolling his eyes on the other end of the call after I had made it clear that I was going to be his future rival. Tony didn't currently know I was the red Alien that had helped him out in the middle east and he probably saw my new company as a business that had just started and therefore didn't see it as a threat. If he didn't acknowledge me as a rival both in and out of business now than I would absolutely leave him in the dust, but If I provoked him and one upped him every step of the way, I hoped to see him build something even better than he had in the movies I knew of.
Although I was not Tony's equal in engineering or anything else he specialized in, I didn't need to be. I just needed to make him think I was and to push him into building something better than his armor, ultron, iron spider, etc. Tony like myself was very competitive and did not like to lose to others. He liked to take center stage. He was a maverick among men and I respected that part of him. Still, I preferred Normans company over his, id have to put on a mask in front of Stark.
After a moment of silence, Tony replied. "Sissy was it? You may be shocked if you knew what I was currently working on. I don't think I need to be worried about anyone passing me up for quite some time. Look forward to it.". Tony then hung up the phone.
The man was delusional. I knew exactly what he was currently working on.
