Capítulo 5: Mind blockage

After leaving the office of the gentleman, he wandered around aimlessly, perhaps to find a new place. More for him to explore... of his home...

As he walked around through the halls filled with the muffled sound of jazz. As he got to the main hall he saw a door which seemed to lead to a large room with a single table in the middle, illuminated with the light of a large chandelier above it. Even the simplest of things were so stylish when it came to this hotel.

As he opened the door and crossed over, He was met with nothing but the silence of nothingness, that was present through the strings of the jazz music in the background. He wandered around, until he saw an entity, which is waved at him and gestured for him to come over. It was underneath the lights of an entrance. Above the lights was written "TH" in large red letters. As he stepped toward it. It welcomed him to check out the casino of the hotel. "This is new..." He said to himself as his curiosity lead him inside. As he entered the casino, he was welcomed with roulettes, card tables and the usual games that would be found in one. He looked around aimlessly, without even the intention of playing anything. But then he was approached by a human? No... The guy seemed different he had an 5s-ball for his left eye. He had a welcoming smile. "Hello there, you must be our VIP guest? I am Louie, the manager of the terror hotel casino. The boss has provided some chips for you." The person said, his smile never went away. As he finished his sentence he gave the child a few chips of different colors. five red chips, two blue, one yellow and another one green. In total of the sum it came up to 75$ But the child didn't know what the chips meaning was. "Now... With those you can play some of our games, Place a bet, roll the roulette, You are free to do whatever you want. If you have anything you want you can just call me. Have a great time." Louie said before he turned around and walked away, Leaving the child alone once again. As he thought about what to do, his mind was unsure if even he wanted to play their games. He had no aim, he had no purpose here.

As he sat on one of the chairs at the bar there, he gave a sigh as his mind tried to make up a thought but failed leaving his head in silence. "Hey buddy, what would you like to order?" The barkeep said as he turned to him, He sounded friendly, but the kids mind was in pure silence, He was simply staring blankly at the floor, as he ignored him. "Is everything alright?" The barkeep asked, his voice had clear concern in it. Perhaps because he was the "honored guest"... As he ignored the question, he stood up and walked away... He felt empty, even if he couldn't see his eyes, he could feel his inner void being presented through them. He didn't know what to think about. The lack of thought has lead to emptiness. As he looked at the games something stopped him from getting close to them. After a while of just standing there, he was approached by Louie who by now made a few loops around the casino. "How's everything going?" Louie asked as the familiar voice made him turn his head around and look at him, his eyes were empty and pierced through... What was left of Louie... His eyes were like an endless void, yet they had the same look they had before. The child stood there silent, it was like his mouth was sealed shut. Louie looked away as he saw that the chips he gave to him were still intact. He felt slightly scared to maintain eye contact. "Do you want a suggestion on what to play first?" Louie asked avoiding eye contact, his voice showed fear, and the child looked upon it, he knew that he was feared by him. The child nodded as he seemed to snap out of it, the void in his eyes closed once again. He nodded, but he still felt disoriented.

"Alrighty then... If you wish to not invest yourself much in the games you can go to the slot machines. It's all based on chance..." Louie said, as the empty aura suddenly disappeared letting him breathe freely once more. "But if you want something more entertaining, or enjoyable i did suggest the card games. Still luck is involved, but you get to make choices that could lead you to winning..."

"Appreciated!" The child said as he gave a slight smile. "It's my pleasure. Good luck!" Louie said as he moved away, the fear in his face was now long gone. Even after being encouraged, his mind seemed to be keeping him away from those things. Perhaps a code that hasn't been deleted after his reincarnation with the power of the backrooms. A code from his past self, one that he no longer remembers.

As he thought and thought if he should do it, not a single part of him wanted to have anything with gambling. His legs began moving away, as he made his was toward where he came from. But then Louie came up once again "If you are going to leave so early and without doing anything. At least get a souvenir. Make it into something." Louie said as he leached out with the pool cue he had for arms and threw a dice up in the air for the kid to catch. And so as the dice fell into his hand, He looked at it weirdly it had no numbers it was just a small white cube. "Have a great one!" Louie said as he turned around and walking away and leaving the child to figure what the dice does on his own. As he looked at it he crouched before throwing it on the floor as it spun randomly until it came to a stop. It ended up on number he couldn't read fully.

He looked around and nothing happened so he simply took it from the floor and put it in his pocket before he walked out of the casino into the ballroom. As he looked at the emptiness, it reminded it of him sometimes. He let his legs just move instinctively as he went for the door back to the main hall of the hotel. He seemed to be vanishing? Slowing down? A sad feeling of absolute emptiness washed over him.

What did he need? What did he need? What did he need?

His emotions were chaotic, his sadness grew which then turned into anger. Or a happy feeling which was just to cope with his rotting inner self. 'Did i stay in this level too much? Did i lose even more of my sanity, am i a mere mortal?'

"No... i am not..." He said as his face suddenly stopped expressing the sadness it did and turned serious. Then he began laughing like a maniac once again. Laughing over the dumb questions he was asking himself. "But... What do i need? No... shush..." He said as he held his head with one hand. He was losing his mind on this level. The insanity was always there, it was just activated right now. He left eye twitched as he smiled, before giving himself a slight chuckle. As he began to quickly move, he gave an instinctive order as some entities appeared to show him the way which he needed to take out of here. In the mean time at the starting point. He was met with the hound he was friends with. Which seemed to have brought him almond water, which it struggled to keep in its mouth. He gave it a pat as he took it with a smile. Like his insanity was pushed away just from the action alone. He drank the whole bottle without much of a hesitation, as his mind seemed to feel clear. And light, not like the emptiness which enveloped it earlier. As he took the path which the entities made for him, the hound followed after him and lead him.

After a while of walking he was lead to the boiler room, the hound lead him further in until they were in complete darkness. They travelled to level 6.

The silence was piercing, he hasn't heard of it in a while.
