Capítulo 1672: -1653- How long can they last

At this moment, Rozen finally started to carefully observe Eugene.

The opponent possessed a robust physique and an unmistakably high-quality set of equipment. The level of his gear was likely above Rozen's and probably above that of any other player. Finding someone in ALO with equipment of a higher level seemed almost impossible.

Especially the magic sword he held. Its sheen and aura were so powerful that even in SAO, which had reached the 75th floor in two years, Rozen had never seen a weapon superior to this one.

It was undoubtedly the highest-grade weapon currently available in ALO. Perhaps, even in the future, no better weapon would appear in the game.

Compared to Eugene, Rozen's equipment seemed somewhat inferior. The only piece that could rival Eugene's gear was "Feathered Wing." Besides "Feathered Wing," Rozen likely had no other equipment as powerful as Eugene's.

This demonstrated the quality of Eugene's gear, which was certainly among the finest across all ALO players.

With such equipment, if Eugene had decent skills, earning the title of strongest player would be a natural achievement.

Rozen hadn't anticipated that the opponent he had just struck down would turn out to be someone of this caliber.

However, upon further thought, it made sense.

"With my current attack power, I could one-shot a boss like the Fallen Fairy. He may have blocked my strike, but he only lost about half his HP. That's definitely not ordinary."

Thinking this, Rozen became somewhat intrigued by Eugene.

However, if Rozen was merely intrigued by Eugene, Eugene's interest in Rozen was much more intense.

"Now, will you finally tell me your name?" Eugene raised his magic sword, pointing it at Rozen. "I've never heard of a player like you among the Sylphs."

If there had been such a player, Rozen's name would've spread long ago.

In fact, any Sylphs recruited by the Salamanders as spies or traitors would have reported him by now. The lack of any information left Eugene puzzled about Rozen's existence.

Seeing Eugene treat Rozen so cautiously, others grew curious as well.

"Sakuya, who is he?" Alicia asked.

"I don't know." Sakuya looked baffled.

"Don't lie." Alicia retorted. "He's a Sylph. How could you not know him?"

If such a skilled player appeared, as the leader, Sakuya would have been informed immediately and would have kept an eye on him.

While Sakuya and the others weren't present initially, Rozen's entrance and Eugene's attitude toward him indicated that this Sylph was no ordinary player.

Such a remarkable figure appearing within her faction, and Sakuya, their leader, claimed she had no knowledge of him?

That was hard to believe.

In truth, Sakuya felt equally baffled.

"I genuinely don't know," she sighed, looking toward Leafa. "Who is he, Leafa?"

Hearing this, Leafa sighed in exasperation.

"He's a newcomer. This character was created just recently, and he hasn't even been in the game for twenty-four hours."

Leafa's explanation instantly resolved the mystery.

"A newbie?" Alicia exclaimed.

"He hasn't been in the game for even twenty-four hours?" Sakuya was similarly taken aback.

"You're a beginner?" Eugene's expression changed drastically.

Everyone else reacted with shock, causing a stir.

Rozen, however, merely shrugged.

"What's so strange about that?" Rozen said nonchalantly. "This is a skill-based game. As long as you're skilled, a newcomer can make an impression right away, can't they?"

That was indeed one of ALO's core features.

However, no matter how skilled a beginner might be, could anyone else barge into a battleground where the three major factions clashed and leave the elite Salamander forces reeling?

It was almost impossible.

Moreover, Rozen's equipment clearly couldn't belong to a starting player. Even with financial support, a player couldn't equip such gear without a high skill level.

For example, the fairy sword Rozen wielded required a One-Handed Sword skill level of 700 to equip. His other gear had similar requirements, demanding certain skill levels.

Could a player who joined the game less than twenty-four hours ago achieve such levels?

It would take at least seven or eight months to reach a 700 One-Handed Sword skill level, wouldn't it?

So…

"It seems you're not planning to tell the truth."

With this remark, Eugene made his stance clear.

He simply didn't believe that Rozen could be a beginner with less than twenty-four hours of gameplay.

And even if he was, it didn't matter.

"Even with you here, you won't stop us."

Eugene pointed his magic sword at Sakuya and Alicia, a menacing smile on his face.

"Today, the heads of the Sylph and Cait Sith leaders will be our trophies."

With these words, the atmosphere grew more hostile.

The Salamanders reformed their spear line, aiming their weapons at their opponents.

The Sylphs and Cait Siths raised their weapons in response, though their expressions were tense.

"What should we do?" Leafa asked anxiously.

Sakuya and Alicia steeled themselves, raising their weapons in preparation for a showdown.

Amid the tension, only Rozen remained unmoved.

"Even with me, it won't be enough to stop you, huh?"

Rozen smiled, amused.

"It's been a while since I heard something like that. Usually, it's things like 'You're our last hope' or 'With you, we can clear this without losses.' I've grown used to people relying on me as their lifeline. It's been a while since anyone thought I couldn't change things on my own."

Rozen's words, spoken almost as if to himself, caused the others to look at one another.

"Rozen…" Leafa looked at him with hope in her eyes.

"This guy…" Sakuya and Alicia seemed to realize something from Rozen's demeanor, looking uncertain.

"…" Eugene said nothing, but his face darkened.

In his heart, a sense of unease grew.

His intuition told him that this man was even more dangerous than he appeared.

In this atmosphere…

"Hey, everyone, don't interfere," Rozen instructed the Sylphs and Cait Siths, including Leafa, as he flew forward.

"What… what are you planning to do?" Sakuya couldn't help but ask.

To this…

"What do you think?"

Without looking back, Rozen fixed his gaze on the Salamanders' main force, narrowing his eyes.

"If people believe I can't change anything alone, let's put that to the test."

"Let's see how long these so-called elite Salamanders can last against me."

Rozen's declaration echoed through the sky, allowing everyone present to hear him loud and clear.

The Salamanders collectively held their breath.

Eugene's eyes narrowed, his face contorting into a fierce expression.
