Capítulo 31: The Iron Demon Part IV

“Blade of Brave Soul!” The system announced the monster’s move as the monster slashed the player rapidly in the middle of the air.

“1,452!”

Multiple damages were dealt with. When the angel finished the move, the result of the battle was clear.

“Argh!” Max screamed as his HP became zero. He had lost to Nicki. Tan’s team had advanced to the next round without him doing anything…

“Eizenger has surprisingly advanced to the next round!” On hearing the result of the battle, the audience in the colosseum cheered. Nicki suddenly became everyone’s favorite…

“Awesome, I don’t have to get myself tired,” said Tan who was waiting in the area designed for the team members.

Joey from the Gigantic team who had not had a chance to fight went mad as he walked towards Tan. “Wait! That’s not fair. I didn’t get a chance to fight, otherwise, we wouldn’t completely lose like this!” He yelled. It was then that the system showed cards from three members of the losing team for the winning team’s members to choose from.

“Let’s fight outside when I’m done selecting your cards!” Tan shouted at him and went silent after he saw Nicki and Blanche gave him a dark look. He then left the battlefield and checked the cards available for him to select.

“Go ahead and choose whatever you want,” said Nicki. “I’ve got plenty.”

Blanche looked at Tan. He could do nothing but nod to that. Judging from the cards that Nicki had, he did not have to worry about her. The two guys spent several minutes before they could finally decide what to pick. Blache got himself two new cards while Tan got one.

Player Blanche has received a 7-star Equip Card, Angel Dust Spear, and a 7-star Magic Card, Strong Determination.

Player Tanthai has received a 7-star Light in the Dark card.

After advancing to the next round without doing anything, no…he had to pick a card from the losing team after Blanche and Nicki won their battle, Tan and his friends went to the waiting room to wait for the next round, the round of sixteen, to begin…

They relaxed and prepared their decks for the next round after going inside. Tan did not do anything much with his deck; he just put the new card he got in and took one out. After he was done with his, he noticed Nicki was replacing her deck.

“Changing your deck?” Tan asked. “Use the previous one, I like the giant demon. It was so cool when the demon appeared and kicked the lizard down with one attack,” he said with admiration in his eyes.

“No way,” Nicki replied without looking at him.

“Why?” Tan asked with confusion on his face.

Nicki turned to her troublesome friend and sighed. “A combo deck like that can be countered very easily. If people have seen it, it is hard to use it again. Think about it, if Max knew what my deck was like, he would surely attack the monsters I summoned with the Magic Card; just that, and I would lose. Also, some cards can remove cards from our deck. That will definitely screw me up,” she explained.

Understood, Tan nodded. “Yeah…but I like the demon. It’s so cool.”

Hearing that, Nicki shook her head. She felt that she should not waste her time explaining things to people like Tan. “Yeah…whatever! Just leave me alone…” She sighed.

“It’s a waste of your time,” Blanche, who had just finished rearranging his deck, said as he looked at Tan.

“True,” Nicki agreed.

Tan was about to argue with that, but a staff walked in before he could say anything. “Eizenger team, it’s time,” said the female staff. Hearing that, the trio got up to their feet and returned to the battlefield.

In the colosseum…

Tan and his friends stood up in front of three huge men. Nicki seemed to be familiar with one of them, but Tan could not recall when he met the guy. He soon got his answer after Nicki’s voice rang out.

“You bald bear,” she bellowed as she stared at the guy. Soon, the person who got stared at noticed the gaze.

“Oh, did you guys get tired of your Facebook game? That’s why you’re here, right? Whoa, looking at me like that, are you in love with me or something?” The bald guy provoked.

Nicki got angrier after hearing that. She shouted, “Tell me your line-up! Let’s fight, I’ll be happy to end your life here!”

“Go first to your heart, but second in the battle, sweetie...” The bald bear still was not done provoking Nicki.

“Okay…you go second, right? Don’t run away,” Nicki gritted her teeth as she said.

“So scary…” He made a mocking expression.

“Then, I’ll go first,” Tan said. “I want to show off my deck,” he noted.

“Whatever,” Nicki replied as she stared at her enemy still. “Do whatever you want. Just let me end this bear’s life,” she said, gritting her teeth.

“I’ll inform the judge,” Blanche said and went to inform his team’s line-up to the judge. After everything was ready, the battle was starting.

“The round of sixteen…” The judge declared. “First contestant of the Eizenger team, Tanthai!” He introduced Tan first. “Versus the contestant from Savage Bear team, the Incredible Bolt!”

Hearing the name of the opponent team, Nicki burst into laughter. “Did you hear that? HAHAHA, they’re actually bears. HAHAHA, Savage Bear? That’s hilarious. Don’t you think so, Blanche? HAHAHA.” Nicki covered her mouth but still could not stop herself from laughing. The Savage Bear trio looked at her with displeasure.

“I’ll kill you all,” said the biggest guy on the other team. Before everything went too far, everybody had to turn their attention back to the battlefield as a voice rang out. It was a sign for the judge to allow the battle to begin…

“Begin!”

After that…the battle started. Before Tan could do anything, he was caught by surprise as he heard a similar announcement from the system, only this time his Job was different.

The effect of Risk Breaker’s skill has been activated. The player’s MP is increased by 30%. Switching deck with a member in the party. The effect of the skill is ended when the player defeats the opponent.

“What…?!” Tan shouted and quickly looked at his first seven cards. After seeing Warrior and Knight cards in his hand, Tan turned to his Knight friend. “Blanche…! How do I use your deck…?!”

Blanche and Nicki heard the system’s voice loud and clear as they were in the same party as Tan. They gasped and frowned after hearing the effect of the skill.

“There’s something like this?!” Blanche looked at an unfamiliar deck in his hand. “Let me look at Tan’s deck and figure out what to do with this.”

“You don’t have to…You will be fine because everything will be back to the same after the battle ends. Let’s worry about him. He doesn’t know how to use your deck, right?” Nicki shook her head. “Then…It’s time to say goodbye to your level, Tanthai…”

“Master Blanche…What happened? Why is the Eizenger card in your hand?” A soft voice rang out in Blanche’s ear. It was Eize who said that. She was now Blanche’s fairy as his deck got swapped with Tan’s by the Risk Breaker’s skill.

“I don’t know how to explain it to you. Let’s say after the battle ends, you will return to Tan, alright?” Blanche pointed at Tan who was running around and reading his cards’ descriptions.

“Master Tan!” Eize exclaimed. “Why did Master Tan take Eizenger out of his deck?” She asked.

“He didn’t take just the card out. His deck was swapped with mine because of his Job’s skill,” Blanche explained.

“Master Tan’s skill is very troublesome,” Eize said as she shook her head and sighed. She flew to sit on Blanche’s shoulder and watched the battle, cheering for him.

“Summon! Summon!”
