"So swift! And... this guy has become so formidable!"
Accompanied by a thunderous light from the far side of the forest, advancing like a charging bull, C once again stood before the two of them.
However, C's appearance had undergone a drastic transformation now, exuding a more violent and ferocious demeanor than before. His strength was incomprehensible!
"This C...!!"
Tobirama's gaze also hardened, amidst the malevolent wind blowing towards him, he suddenly emanated a majestic aura.
But soon, his gaze softened. Though he didn't retreat, he simply tightened the grip on the surgery scalpel in his hand.
"Interesting!" Takeshi had no intention of killing Tobirama here, so he leaped away.
He too was immensely surprised as he beheld C, who now bore large blood-red scars on his bare-headed form. Both his appearance and strength had undergone a significant change.
When ninja cross paths, they first attempt to gauge each other's strength.
Takeshi had recently clashed with C, even gaining a slight advantage.
Unexpectedly, after just a few months, the other party's wounds had healed, and the faint power emanating from him now left Takeshi uncertain, even feeling a sense of oppression when facing Tobirama!
The three individuals exchanged glances, the atmosphere tense.
A few months ago, Takeshi went by the name "Uchiha Dragon." C and Takeshi had fought, eventually encountering Tobirama. The two had fled without a word.
Meeting again now, the circumstances of the three were vastly different from before.
"Hokage-sama, I apologize for my tardiness. Please ensure your safety."
After a prolonged silence, it was C who broke the ice, his words cryptic.
"I too regret the circumstances surrounding Lord Raikage's demise," Tobirama replied impassively.
"Master Ai... has passed away." C lowered his head, a somber expression etched on his face.
"The fault lies with us regarding the peace negotiations. On behalf of our teacher, I offer my apologies to Konoha."
There was a flicker of lightning in C's eyes, his countenance grave and earnest, yet he couldn't help but turn to Takeshi standing beside him.
"As for those responsible for this turmoil, we will pursue them relentlessly, meting out severe punishment, and providing both parties with a satisfactory resolution!"
"Haha, you savage, you didn't rush in with shouts and threats, it's changing my opinion of you!" Takeshi exclaimed in astonishment.
The C before him seemed to have undergone a sudden shift in personality, leaving Takeshi astounded.
Tobirama's expression remained as still as water, understanding C's implications.
The terms of the peace agreement signed by Ai and himself were still in effect.
The disruption caused by Ginkaku and Kinkaku was indeed a significant upheaval, but it wasn't what Ai and C desired.
Therefore... regardless, the conflict between Kumogakure and Konoha had come to an end. At least, Cloud Village was still willing to unilaterally declare a ceasefire in accordance with the agreed-upon terms.
The war is merely an extension of politics. Though the two sides were locked in deadly combat not long ago, upon meeting again, C realizes that for their Land of Lightning, this war has become unnecessary.
Instead, he will step into the shoes of his fallen mentor, take up his mantle, quell the rebellion, and navigate the tumultuous situation.
Ai's initial goal in launching the war has, in essence, been achieved... but at too great a cost!
Like C, Tobirama's expression twists into a bitter smile, his face bearing a complex and inscrutable look.
"Hokage-sama, you..."
Observing Tobirama's pallor and the intensity in his gaze, C trembles, sensing something amiss.
Tobirama shakes his head, reluctant to divulge more, simply stating:
"The terms of negotiation were agreed upon from the start."
C nods solemnly, understanding that Tobirama likely harbors deep-seated resentment.
However, both sides have suffered severe losses. In truth, they are both eager to clean up their own messes and have little energy to spare for anything else.
Especially Tobirama, I fear...
"Hehe, are you two having a lovely chat? Do forgive me for intruding, Uchiha Dragon stands before you!"
Takeshi theatrically interrupts their silent communication at an inopportune moment.
"Uchiha Dragon, we meet again. Why does it seem you're always around?" C finally looks at Takeshi with a wry smile, a faint flicker of lightning dancing around his form.
"And what of the two brothers, Ginkaku and Kinkaku?"
"Fear not, they have met their demise and can trouble us no longer. Their bodies now lie as ashes," Takeshi answers, turning his attention to Tobirama. "I believe they cornered the Hokage to a dire position, and he resolved it on a whim. Though they weren't my target."
Confronted by C's formidable aura, Takeshi remains unfazed, instead, he spreads his arms wide, adopting an innocent and jesting demeanor.
"It's a shame you ended a good thing," C replies ambiguously, his scars flushing a deeper crimson. Was Takeshi referring to Tobirama's demise, or something else entirely?
This man harbors hidden motives, rendering him entirely untrustworthy. C desires to dispose of him swiftly!
"And what role do you play in this upheaval, Dragon Uchiha?" C's tone grows increasingly menacing.
However, Takeshi suddenly unveils a pair of bright, mesmerizing kaleidoscope eyes, refusing to back down. Their gazes lock in a tense standoff, the air crackling with tension between them.
"C, from now on, you will be the new Ai."
In that tense moment, Tobirama, his expression dark, shattered the silence.
"Remember what you've just promised."
"Of course, Your Excellency Hokage," C replied, turning his head with solemnity.
"Need me to send someone to escort you back?"
C glanced at Takeshi, who exuded an air of superiority. Power simmered beneath his surface, the implication clear.
"No need. Farewell."
Tobirama took a step back and vanished suddenly.
"My time... is running out... I can't afford to waste it talking to you, and I can't trust you!"
Beneath the canopy of a tree, Tobirama's figure flickered, his face turning momentarily pale before disappearing once more.
A kunai with an engraving lay on the tree, a marker left by Sarutobi and his team along their path.
"I can't trust anyone now."
Sadness, resentment, humiliation, anxiety... Tobirama's heart swirled with a maelstrom of emotions. With cold eyes, he disappeared forever from the Land of the Moon, akin to a king in exile.
"You're just leaving like this?"
Takeshi feigned surprise, but before he could react, C lunged forward, engulfed in fiery light, landing a close-range punch on Takeshi!
"It's over—!"
Thousands of lightning bolts erupted from C's palm like a blazing silver sun, striking fear into Takeshi's heart.
"You, you...!" Takeshi's mouth gaped, shocked and unprepared for C's sudden lethal strike, blood spilling from his lips.
"Heh, Tobirama seems to have retired... Uchiha Dragon, whatever your game with him, as long as lives end, lights fade, it's all the same to me!"
In that moment, C's single eye gleamed with ruthless intent. Faced with Ai's death, his own near-fatal injuries, and the weight on his shoulders, he learned restraint, yet his resolve grew fiercer.
C was no longer the same as the Third Raikage in history.
"Teacher, I'm not the same reckless person I once was. Today, I avenge you!"
C roared, lightning blazing around him, a thunderous bolt erupting, reducing Takeshi to ash!
"Heh, C, you've changed."
A mocking voice echoed, and C, caught in his fury, froze, turning in disbelief.
Takeshi stood atop a tree, observing C from above. C's outburst seemed like a joke to him.
"Death is just the beginning..."
