Capítulo 53: Chapter 53
Alex experimented with the stuff he got from Voldemort and Dumbledore's grind for almost a week before getting a decent understanding of his powers.
"Now that some of this is done, I now have other methods to fight unlike before where I could only use the ropes and transfiguration."
He yawned before he took out the Philosopher's stone and looked around. Black cloths appeared in the air before they covered the windows. Alex cleared out the space in the room and played with the stone as he tried to conjure gold.
"Ah, I forgot. I need base metals. Gringotts is out of the equation. Can't trust those guys."
He walked out of his home and headed out to the muggle streets through the leaky cauldron.
After finding a nice busy street, he used wandless magic to pull out wallets from the pockets of different people. He did it for almost twenty minutes before he checked all the wallets he stole.
He kept all the notes and coins while he simply threw all the empty wallets in garbage can.
Twenty-three One-pound notes and fifty-eight one pound coins were placed in his right pocket while the few five and ten pound notes were kept in his left pocket.
[The printing of notes stopped somewhere in 1980's and instead they began circulating the coins. Just in case someone wanted to know. If you didn't, ignore it cus it doesn't play much of a role in this fanfic other than here or maybe once or twice in the future.]
Using the money, he bought four metric tons of iron ore which cost him thirty pounds for a metric tonne. Large trucks dumped all the iron in an isolated land at the outskirts of London while Alex watched from the side as disillusionment charm hid him perfectly.
He waited until night and began placing muggle repelling charms and disillusionment charm around the whole area. After he was done, he lifted all of the iron ore into the air while nerves began showing in his hand and head while as he started to sweat.
"Fuck! That's too heavy." He muttered as he took out his wand from his other hand.
"Toffy!"
*POP*
"Keep all this iron in the air for me, please."
"Toffy understands, master." He said as he raised his hand, effortlessly lifting it all up.
Alex formed a colourless barrier around the irregular ball of iron before he began to heat it up to an unprecedented level of heat by using the experience and knowledge of alchemy that he stole from dumbledore.
The ball of iron glowed bright red at first before it slowly turned orange. Alex could see the ball shrink at a speed visible to the naked eye.
[To all the nerdy readers like me, Iron ores (Hematite and magnetite) are iron oxide compounds. When you burn them at high temperatures, the oxygen is kicked out and you are left with 69 to 72% of the original weight. This time its pure iron.
If there is a bit of carbon added, it becomes pig iron but that is of no use to us right now so I won't say more about it.
Note: I might be a bit off cuz I studied this a few years ago and im too lazy to check right now.]
Flames began to spew out of the ball and seeing that, Alex looked at Toffy.
"Can you uh… knead this thing? Like the outer portion should go in and the inner stuff should come out."
Toffy simply nodded before he began to aggressively knead the ball of iron while hot flames shot out of the ball every time it moved.
The process continued for almost four to five hours until the ball stopped shrinking.
"Shape them into bricks that weigh exactly two kilograms and…. Place them on this stone slab.", Alex said as he forcefully pulled out stones and rocks from under the ground and transfigured them into a large slab.
Toffy did as he was told and soon, layers of iron bricks were placed one upon the other. Alex cooled the bricks by spraying them with large amounts of water before he took out the philosopher's stone.
"Finally… two tonnes and eight hundred kilograms of iron… gold after a while…"
The stone floated for a while before he made it sit on the thick rectangular wall of iron bricks. All he had to do was will for the iron to turn into gold and as soon as he did it, from the point of contact with the stone, the whole wall slowly turned golden.
"This is probably the closest thing to a miracle even for a person with magical capabilities. After all, changing the metals permanently without runes is almost impossible.
The only problem right now is to sell this gold and to do that I could either sell it for muggle money and then exchange it or find a broker who can exchange all this gold into Galleons for me."
He put all the gold into one of his rings before he looked at Toffy, "That was some great work, Toffy. Now let's get back."
"Thank you, master." He said before popping away.
"I meant… take me with you. I can't apparate yet. Toffy!"
*POP*
"Wait a second." He said and send the stones and rocks back into the ground and took off the disillusionment and muggle repelling charms.
"Take me home."
Toffy seemed to have smiled before he held Alex's hand and apparated back home. Alex sat on a conjured chair and thought for a while before coming to one final conclusion.
"Hunters den it is…"

A tall man appeared in the lobby before he bought the weekly membership. After he wore the mask and the cloak, he tapped on the counter to get the woman's attention.
"Do you guys buy gold?"
"Yes sir! How much would you like to sell?"
"A lot." He said sharply.
"A lot, you say… I know the right person. Please follow me."
She took him to a black tent and asked him to wait outside before she headed inside.
Alex, who looked like a middle-aged man, sent a thin thread inside.
"Sir, there is a customer who wants to sell a lot of gold like you predicted before."
