The community was on the verge of falling but that was all dependent on if Carl could close the gate in time. 

Carl had done everything right but he had little experience in combating these creatures which made it impressive that he could accurately stand his ground against a few evolved zombies.

Even though they weren't quite on the same level as other evolved zombies, this was still an impressive feat.

Carl looked over his shoulder and could tell that the evacuation was ongoing but he had to find a way to close the gates.

Luckily, they had another exit behind the community for emergencies and the zombies were only focused at the front.

Carl mixed in with the zombies, walking around like a mindless drone but he was nearing the evolved zombies with each step, an action he was aware of but he knew he had no choice.
