They were about to fight off this threat together because that was the only way to survive as Corey couldn't even leave if he wanted to so he was trapped here alongside everyone else.

The possibility of Dimitris being dead only highlighted their danger which the erratic Corey knew was a feat that even he couldn't accomplish.
