Sam had entered a truce with these two men but he in no way trusted them.
They began to try to bypass the door, they tried to force it open but there was no luck with him.
The door wouldn't bulge but they weren't about to give up because they wanted the weapons.
"This is one strong door!" John said, and Sam nodded in agreement.
Sam never allowed them to stand behind his back because he knew he would be vulnerable to a sneak attack.
Sam looked around and saw that there was an axe at where the men were previously but he didn't bring it to their attention.
It looked like they made an active attempt at hiding it but they didn't hide it well enough; Sam kept quiet because he wanted to see if they had hidden motives.
The last thing they needed was to hack down the door, they couldn't do that previously due to the zombies that were present.
They hoped that the zombies would move on if they didn't hear anything from within but Sam came to their rescue unknowingly.
"Ha! Things would have been easier if we could break down this door with something…" Sam threw up that idea hoping that someone would catch it.
John and Max glanced at each other but Sam's body language was in his favour, they didn't perceive him as a threat.
"We should check around for something so we can break down this door and get our guns. We cannot waste time or more zombies might come." Sam rolled his eyes.
He sounded frustrated but this gave the other two men an excuse to bring out their hidden axe.
This way, they could bring it out without suspicion.
Sam was playing them and they were dancing right on his hand, they weren't as smart as they seemed and Sam was taking advantage of them.
Max 'found' the axe and returned to the door, they stared each other down but this was Max's way of seeing if this man suspected them of anything.
"Well? Are you going to do it big guy or do you want to hand me the axe?" Sam said casually, his friendly demeanor made Max chuckle.
"I have got this…" Max reassured him and he smashed the axe right at the door, the first strike was enough to put a dent in the door.
"He is strong…" Sam thought to himself, he knew that these men weren't as weak as they portrayed themselves and Max revealed his strength just as Sam intended.
John noticed that Sam was paying an unnatural amount of attention to Max.
He was watching him with hawk-like eyes but he couldn't blame him, they were strangers.
"So the other person you guys are with, what happened to him?" Sam asked, this was the perfect moment for this conversation because Sam believed that they had broken through the hostile phase and they would be more susceptible to agree with him.
"I don't think he will be coming back anytime soon…" John said as he watched Max make headway with the obstacle in their path.
"What about yours?" John asked and Sam knew he couldn't let these men know that he was alone or even with Clementine but luckily, he didn't need to.
"Fuck yeah!" Max cussed out loud, the door had been broken through and John immediately rushed forward.
Sam found this strange, it looked like they were trying to ice him out but Sam didn't mind.
"So what was blocking the door?" Sam asked but he got no response from the men.
"You guys suddenly can't hear me?" Sam asked but the silence gave him his answer.
Max swung the axe, but this time, it wasn't aimed at the door but right at Sam.
Sam had an idea of his strength so blocking it wasn't in his best interest and because of that, he chose to dodge it.
Sam ducked down, feeling the axe narrowly miss the top of his head.
"Such agility!" Max thought to himself but a roundhouse upper kick connected with Max's upper jaw.
This sent Max crashing backwards, he hit the ground with a loud thump as Sam gradually got back to his feet, looking at John.
"Are you going to be stupid as well?" Sam asked but John just started cackling like a madman.
"You stupid piece of shit! You don't know what you have done!" John was laughing his ass out and Sam found this strange because there was nothing funny going on.
Sam soon realized why he was laughing as he saw a looming shadow, he jerked his back and saw an enraged Max.
"That should have knocked you out…" Sam commented but it didn't.
Sam now understood his situation, he had to kill these men before they got their hands on the gun and despite being outnumbered, Sam didn't look threatened by his situation as a grin crept up on his face.
"What're two more bodies…" Sam said, picking up the axe from the floor.
-
Clementine threw up when she saw a dead woman, someone had violated her body.
But this wasn't the only thing that they did, they cupped off her breasts like some sick game and placed the baby into the corpse of the woman that they had cut open her womb.
Clementine didn't understand how humans could be so cruel but this was a prime example of why the world needed rules for people to follow.
Clementine had locked the door because she didn't know if whoever was responsible for this was still around and she would rather not find out. Unlike Sam, she wanted to believe in the goodness of mankind.
Clementine picked up the bloodied baby and she realized that this woman was a zombie but had lost the ability to move or do anything otherwise.
They had broken her spine and limbs so the zombie couldn't reach the baby, it was a sick joke and Clementine didn't find this funny.
"Who could have done this!?" Clementine thought but she heard movement in the closet.
Clementine noticed that the lock on the closet matched the key and came to the conclusion that this was the reason the man had given her the key.
