"This will do."

(This armor set used materials from the monster called tree eating lizard. If I were to describe that monster, it's very annoying to deal with.)

(It's a 1 meter tall brown that possess both high [Physical Defense] and poison that can deal lot of damage that also reduces target defense. Just killing one of those bastards took some time to kill when I first encountered it.)

(Well, materials from those fat bastards are quite nice. This heavy armor provide tons of the defense, but doesn't provide at all attack bonus. Well, I'm tank in the first place so getting high defense is still good for me. I also still use those gauntlets and the cape I got from the kobold chieftain, so my current defense stat is very high right now.)

(Honestly speaking, I was thinking of making a different version of this armor after I tested out the black iron, but it already had level restriction of 80, so making stronger version would probably end up making armor with too high level restriction for me and all. So, for now I didn't bother making it.)

(For accessories I went mostly with strength and agility ones. Using wings can make me somehow faster, but it's eating way too much stamina if battle drags for too long, just like when I fought that kobold chieftain, I literally runed out of stamina at the end. I need to manage my stamina more properly.)

(The new weapons are ready for combat testing as well. All preparation are done, so let's go.)

Forge left the city and headed straight towards the forest. As he walked through the forest, he passe by many trees, half of them seemingly being melted by something.

"I already entered their territory huh? That was quite fast."

(Honestly speaking, I kind of encounter less monster than when I came here before. I saw some players along the way, there was quiet amount of them They were probably the one hunting the monsters in the areas I was passing by. Well, it's good that I didn't had to waste time dealing with random monsters that didn't interested me.)

"But somebody could at least dealt with those bastards."

[Tree Eating Lizard] [Level 73] x 5

A group of 5 giant brown colored lizards with purple eyes, stood in the Forge way.

"Well, normally dealing with you is giant pain in the ass and all, but the stuff you drop are extremely good and you won't mind if I test one of my new weapons on you, won't you?"

Forge was holding a big metal spiked ball that was attached to the chain. The chains that were attached to the ball were also wrapped Forge waist.

[Prison Violence]

[A giant metal ball with many sharp spikes sticking out from it. The weapon possess special made chain that is extremely durable and very hard to break. The special belt that comes with the spiked ball and chains, possess mechanism that allows to retract the chain and wrap it back around the belt.]

[Attack Power: 185 – 215]

[Restriction: Level 80]

(Let's have fun!)

Forge beginned spinning the chain with the spiked ball attached to it, before moments later throwing it right at one of the lizard monsters.

The ball flew, hitting the lizard monster straight at the face and knocking it away. The ball then quickly get pulled back by the Forge, returning it to him.

The other 4 lizards that didn't noticed the Forge before, instantly turned towards him. After noticing him their cheeks swollen up, before moments later they all fired a poison made projectiles from their mouths. Forge dodge the attack by running towards the tree nearby and then using it as the cover.

(Tree eating lizard specialty is high defense and long range attacks using poison. This bastards are able to take hit or two. Even that direct hit with my ball that should have dealt lot of damage, did not manage killed that lizard.)

(The other annoying thing about tree eating lizard is their acid poison. Things like rocks and trees will melt over time when they are covered with it and if the player get hit by it, he or she can end up losing up to 15% of the total defense they possess, they will also take damage over time while covered in that stuff.)

(They are bad match up for the tank like me. Honestly speaking, the best approach is to attack from afar and then use trees as cover.)

"But this will take too long, so let's play bit risky."

Forge jumped out from his hiding spot and then immediately thrown the spike ball once again, hitting another lizard.

After that, both of the claws blades begin to emit the reddish smoke.

"[Demonic Claw]!"

Forge swinged his claw blades, sending projectiles straight at the lizards. Both attacks hit the already heavily injured lizard, finishing it off. The remaining lizards once again prepared to attack and shot at the Forge.

But before they could shot, Forge took out his wings and leaped towards the lizards, right at the moment they fired their poison.

Forge flew above the projectiles and then threw his weapon once again, hitting one of the injured lizard, but not managing to kill it. After that Forge landed on the ground, near the injured lizard and begin launching series of punches and with each one also stabbing the creature with the claw blades.

Second lizard got killed.

One of the lizards near the Forge, tried attacking him, but he quickly pulled the chains and made the spiked ball hit the lizard directly in the face from the side, knocking it over.

Another lizards tried shooting at the Forge, but he quickly stabbed the turned over lizard with his claws and lifted it and moved it, using it as the shield that blocked the projectiles. After that Forge once again land many strikes with punches and claws against the creature he just used as the shield, killing the creature.

Then Forge jumped over the corpse of the lizard he just killed and pulled back his chained ball. He then spined the chained ball around before then launching it at one of the remaining lizards, smashing its head from above.

Forge then landed on top of the lizards and quickly finished it off with claws. After that he quickly pounced at the last lizards and ripped it to shreds in matter of seconds.

[You have slain: Tree Eating Lizard – Level 73]

"Huh. Well, that was way easier than before? I mean like, last time I came here I was struggling a lot against them. I guess the training I did with the others paid off way better than I though."

(I literally came unscratched from that fight. I'm the best!)

"Let's quickly loot them and then- "

'SPLASH'

"…."

When Forge took a step, he heard something splashing beneath him. When he looked down, he noticed a very visible poison puddle beneath him, that was after one of the lizards attacks.

"….."

"Are you fuking kidding me right now?"

[You have been poisoned.]

"…"

"For the love of god…..."

The idiot that stepped in very visible puddle of acid poison took the antidote and continue his exploration.

(Okay, I'm finally here. Took bit longer that I thought to get here since nobody WAS HUNTING HERE! For crying out loud, I know this isn't great leveling up spot and all, but common! I had to fight every single bastard that stood in my way to get here!)

(Tch. Welp, last time I came here there was this border barrier that blocked my path. It wasn't seen through barrier, so I couldn't tell what was one the other side, but now it's gone and I can move further now.)

(Kitty suggested that all of us explore different areas, in order to gather as much as possible information and to find any good hunting spots, hidden quests, hidden dungeon or any other hidden stuff that developers did not mention at all.)

(I was dispatched to this area. Honestly, it's bit annoying in here and I kind of hated this place at first. I didn't manage to find anything hidden or special here. However, the materials from the tree eating lizards are extremely good and the wood that you can gather here is very durable and has high mana affinity value.)

(It's not great leveling up spot, but it's good spot for me since I can gather lot of materials that can be used for crafting and the stuff you can get from here can be sold for a bit of gold in the city, so it's also good spot for earning money.)

"As far as I can see, there are the same trees in that new area and the melted trees by the tree eating lizard acid poison."

(Does that mean that tree eating lizard territory stretches even further? So far, I didn't manage any boss monster in the territory or different type of monster living here. It would be nice if I find any evolved version of the tree eating lizard, materials would be probably be great.)

Forge begin exploring the new part of map, encountering many trees with some of them being melted off.

(…)

(Weird. I'm still encountering the tree eating lizards, but definitely in smaller number than before. Am I closing to the monsterless zone?)

[Monsterless zone – a term made by the players. Simple put it refers to the area in the wild where monsters don't appear often or don't appear at all, a safe zone in some sense.]

(If that would be the case, then it's worth marking it on the mini map, it would probably make cutting wood way easier in that area since monster wouldn't bother me.)

(Or by any chance some players already manage to get ahead of me and killed all the monsters, but I don't see any traces of combat anywhere, so I doubt that would be the case. However, I should keep my guard up just in case, I know that some monsters hide and ambush people when they think they are safe.)

(!)

(I think I heard something from afar in front of me. Combat? So, players did manage to get ahead of me!)

Forge begin running towards the source of the noises. As he approached, the sounds became clearer and louder.

(I don't know who is fighting, but I should probably try and not to be noticed or seen.)

Forge slowed down and beginned hiding behind the trees one by one while moving closer to the source of noise.

"…."

(What the hell?)

While peeking behind the tree, Forge saw a tree humanoid monsters that was standing 3 and half meters tall, fighting against tree eating lizard.

[Living Tree – Level 79]

[Tree Eating Lizard – Level 75]

(A tree monster huh? He seems to be humanoid type, but he obviously not using any equipment, he is just slamming the lizard with his bare hands like a bear.)

(That tree monsters is taking on the lizard poison, but it's not backing off, it seems to be a tank type monster just like that lizards)

"However, by the look of things the fight will end soon."

As soon as Forge said that, the tree monster lifted its hands into air and then striked the lizards from above, crushing it beneath its arms.

(It already ended huh? Too bad. I wanted to observe fight bit more.)

(Anyway, why were they fighting? I never saw monsters fighting among themselves. By any chance was it because of tree eating lizard? I saw sometimes those lizards eating the trees, that is the reason why so many tress are melted. Was that lizards trying to eat that other monster? Since well, that monster was a tree and that lizard eat trees and all.)

(Anyway, that tree monster is already damaged a bit, I should probably finish it off.)

Forge left his hiding spot and revealed himself to the tree monster. The monster noticed Forge and moved towards him, ready to strike, but before it could do that the spiked ball flew at it and finished the creature off.

[Level up.]

"Huh, I guess he was more worn out from that fight than I though. The acid poison probably did it think too."

(Anyway, what the heck is going on?)

This never happened before. I never saw or heard from the other guys about monsters fighting among themselves. Just in case I even contacted the group and asked if they found something similar happening, but none of them encounter anything like that while exploring the new territories.

Hmmm…. It's better if I investigate this. Maybe I will be able to find something interesting this way.

Pretty much, instead of hunting right now, I focused more on observing the current situation. Pretty much as I went further, I saw more of those tree monster fighting against those lizards.

Sometimes I saw the small group of tree monsters fighting against lizard group and sometimes I saw battle between single individuals. Sometimes I saw single monster getting beat up by the group.

At first, I thought that the tree monster was defending it self when the lizard attacked them, but by look of things, sometimes the tree monsters attacked the lizard first, even when the lizard didn't noticed the tree monster or anything.

I also tested some things, like "What will happened if they notice me while the two sides are fighting each other?"

Pretty much the fight would turn into battle royal. The lizards and trees would still fight each other, but they would also attack me when the chance presented itself. It's not like they will fully focus on their enemy and just ignore me or anything.

As I went further, the area around started to change little by little. The numbers of trees started to decrees as well as grass. The number of the monsters I encounter also ended up decreasing by bit.

(Weird. What the hell happened here? This place look like it's slowly turning into wasteland. From what I saw before the tree eating lizards didn't left that kind of damage after their "meals". Did different monster did that?)

"Hm?"

(What the hell? A building? Why is there building out here in the wild? I should check and see what the heck is that.)

Forge begin moving towards the unknown structure and as he did, he realized the structure he saw was a wall made out of the stone.

(Why is the wall out here? Hm? I think I see somebody on top of it? Oh, I think they noticed me, they are waving at me.)

Forge moved even closers toward the stone wall until he arrived at the gate, guarded by the two guards.

"Hold! Who are you?" – said one of the armored solider that was guarding the entrance.

"Em, well my name is Forge and I'm one of the wonderers."

[The NPCs in this world refers to the players as: Wonderers or just a players. NPCs are also able to tell if the person in front of them is a player or NPC.]

"Wonderer? I didn't encounter any yet, but I heard that your kind explore and wonders around."

"Well, yes, that is true, people like us like exploring and all. Honestly speaking, I was exploring this area and hunting any monsters I encounter, until I found this out of place area. Unlike the rest of the area, there is barely any trees around or any plants at all and while looking around, I noticed this stone wall from afar. I kind wanted to take a look around and see what was the thing I saw and all."

"Oh. Okay."

"…."

"So…. What is this place? Just wondering."

The two guards looked at each other and one of them nodded his head to the other guard, before then turning back towards Forge.

"This is emergently defense outpost. Honestly speaking, we are currently dealing with some problems right now, so it's not exactly safe past this point really. We don't recommend you explore past this point."

(Oh? Now this seems to be interesting. I maybe have found something.)

"I can kind of see that this place became partially a wasteland. I saw some tree eating lizards destroying parts of the forest and all. Is this by any chance was it their doing?" – asked Forge.

"Well, you are close, but not really. It was the doing of the – "

Before the guard could finish his sentence, a sound of bells could be heard.

"MONSTER WAVE INCOMING! I REPEAT! MONSTER WAVE IS COMING!"
