Capítulo 34: Considerate Lucas Considering
As the morning sun cast its warm glow through the window, Milane stirred from her slumber, regret coursing through her veins. A wicked hangover had settled in, and she scrunched her face in response to her heavy head and parched throat.
With all the grace of a sloth, she extended her arm towards her bedside table in search of her lifeline: her phone. But just as her fingers grazed its screen, a sudden bolt of panic surged through her.
"FK!! It's 11 am! OMG!" Milane bellowed, her eyes widening as the truth dawned: she was terribly, hopelessly late.
Her heart raced as she stared at the multitude of notifications that had piled up overnight. She could almost hear Lucas, her imposing boss, conjuring curses through the phone, demanding to know her whereabouts.
With a sense of impending doom, she unlocked her phone, resigning herself to whatever fate awaited. Milane drew in a deep breath, her finger trembling slightly as she opened Lucas's message.
