"Professor, no." Phoenix's expression changed instantly. She quickly communicated with Nightcrawler, who was inside the pyramid, "Kurt, you have to hurry!"
"I'm still searching, it's like a maze in here." Nightcrawler stood still, looking around, completely lost.
Just at that moment, a shadow suddenly floated over the wall behind him. Then Angel flew over and slammed Nightcrawler against the wall.
After being slammed twice, Nightcrawler extended his tail, trying to pierce Angel, but Angel caught his tail. In a panic, Nightcrawler teleported away.
However, Angel held onto his tail and continued teleporting with him. The two of them teleported from inside the pyramid to the outside, entwining in mid-air.
Inside the pyramid, Professor X was in a dire situation. The stone bed he lay on was covered in golden patterns, and the bed itself was lifted by several beams of purple energy. Eventually, the purple energy enveloped Professor X.
And thus, a scene that everyone would enjoy witnessing unfolded. Professor X's thick mane of hair began falling out, one strand after another. In the blink of an eye, he turned completely bald.
His eyes, one of them completely black, this was the result of "possession" that had occurred only a moment ago.
"He can't hold on much longer." Phoenix said anxiously.
Fortunately, at this critical moment, Nightcrawler managed to break free from Angel. After teleporting several times within the pyramid, he finally located Professor X lying on the stone bed.
Swoosh!
Nightcrawler teleported onto the stone bed, leaned over, picked up Professor X, and the next moment, their figures vanished from the bed.
The goal of this mission was to rescue Professor X. Since he was safe now, there was no reason to stay any longer. Nightcrawler used his teleportation ability to bring Beast, Cyclops, and the others onto the aircraft.
"Prepare for takeoff." Moira immediately started the aircraft, intending to evacuate.
However, things didn't go as smoothly as planned.
The other side had flyers as well.
Angel had previously been thrown into a web of steel by Nightcrawler. His wings spread open, and he rotated in place, slicing through the steel web. Then, carrying Psylocke, he soared into the sky.
Psylocke jumped onto the aircraft in mid-air, her energy sword materializing. In one thrust, she pierced through the aircraft.
Plop, plop, plop!
Not satisfied with just one strike, Psylocke kept stabbing at the aircraft.
"Everyone, hold onto Nightcrawler!" Phoenix shouted.
"I've never tried carrying so many people." Nightcrawler sounded a bit concerned.
"Get us out of here." Phoenix said.
Cyclops, Beast, and the others followed her orders, making physical contact with Nightcrawler.
Bang!
At that moment, a loud noise rang out. It turned out that Psylocke had sliced a large opening in the aircraft with her sword. Angel jumped into the cabin.
However, they were too late.
Although it was a close call, Nightcrawler successfully teleported everyone out of the cabin.
Without anyone piloting, the aircraft began to plummet toward the ground.
While Psylocke had cut open the aircraft, she hadn't jumped in. She stood on the aircraft as it crashed. She managed to jump off the aircraft just in time to escape the crash, saving her life.
But the angel inside the aircraft wasn't so lucky. As the aircraft crashed to the ground, along with it went the angel.
Boom!
A deafening explosion erupted, and flames shot up into the sky.
This time, the angel truly became an angel.
Although Psylocke couldn't fly, she could use a sword.
She conjured an energy sword in mid-air and thrust it into the wall, using this rough method to break her fall.
Although she was knocked unconscious by the impact, she at least survived, not meeting her demise.
Among Apocalypse's Four Horsemen, Angel was down for the count, Psylocke was unconscious, the Earth-grooming Magneto was tied up, and Storm had gone into hiding. Apocalypse found himself with no viable options for the moment.
Apocalypse could only act himself.
Then a purple portal flashed, and Apocalypse appeared outside the pyramid, standing atop the ruins.
"Bunch of useless fools." He saw Angel's body but had no sympathy for his follower.
What he didn't know was that Storm, who had witnessed this, was beginning to have second thoughts.
"Charles, I know you can hear me, we are still connected." Apocalypse shouted loudly, "Charles! Come out to me!"
Charles, did you hear that?
Yes, I heard.
It wasn't just Charles; Beast, Phoenix, and the others heard it too. They were hiding in a nearby room.
But at this moment, no one went out. Professor X hadn't recovered, Nightcrawler was unconscious, and everyone had just gone through a fierce battle, so they weren't in great condition.
"Charles! Come out to me!" Apocalypse continued shouting as he walked.
Suddenly, his footsteps stopped.
However, everyone knew that it wasn't him who had stopped.
Because behind Apocalypse was a demolished building, and an electrical wire was sparking. Even the sparks had frozen in place.
The people within the answer space were quite familiar with this scene. It was the same kind of entrance that Quicksilver had made when he saved people at the genius school.
It wasn't that everyone had stopped moving; it was that the perspective had switched to "Quicksilver's point of view."
Because Quicksilver was so fast, everything appeared frozen to him. He had the ability to perceive things at an incredible speed.
"It looks like it's my turn to make an appearance." Pietro Maximoff's spirits were lifted. He longed for the speed of his alternate self.
"This Apocalypse doesn't seem that impressive right now. I wonder how he plans to catch Pietro," Wanda Maximoff said.
"He's definitely not simple. Just look at his Four Horsemen. They are all strong individuals to be followed by such powerful people," Nick Fury remarked.
As guessed by everyone, in the next moment, Quicksilver's figure appeared on the scene.
He leisurely walked up to Apocalypse and delivered a punch to his face.
Swoosh!
Apocalypse was sent flying by the punch.
Even in "Quicksilver's perspective," his speed was still too fast to be seen. He had already appeared where Apocalypse was about to land, and another punch was thrown.
Swoosh!
Apocalypse was sent flying again.
Just like before, Quicksilver appeared ahead of Apocalypse's flight path. He lifted his foot and kicked Apocalypse forcefully, sending him flying once more.
In this way, Quicksilver used his super-speed to continuously punch and kick Apocalypse.
Poor Apocalypse, after the first punch, he had been floating in mid-air, unable to touch the ground.
However, Apocalypse's impressive nickname wasn't for nothing. Amidst the barrage of punches and kicks, he gradually started to perceive Quicksilver's movements!
His eyeballs kept darting around. When his eyes turned gray-white, the ground suddenly bulged, gripping Quicksilver's foot.
Quicksilver's foot was trapped, and he couldn't run anymore.
"You foolish boy." Apocalypse stepped toward Quicksilver.
Quicksilver raised his hand and threw a punch at Apocalypse, but Apocalypse easily caught his fist.
Crack!
Apocalypse kicked Quicksilver's right leg, producing a crisp bone-cracking sound. Quicksilver's right leg twisted in an eerie manner.
At this moment, Psylocke appeared. Holding her sword, she walked toward Apocalypse.
Apocalypse grabbed Quicksilver by the hair and lifted him up, saying to Psylocke, "Kill him."
Without hesitation, Psylocke raised her sword.
Swoosh!
Psylocke swung her sword—a swift and fierce strike that cut through the air and aimed for Quicksilver.
But Quicksilver didn't die. Psylocke's strike didn't target Quicksilver; instead, it was aimed at Apocalypse!
Under that strike, Apocalypse's neck opened up with a large gaping wound. Despite being a clear deadly wound, it seemed as insignificant to him as a mosquito bite. It didn't affect him in the slightest.
Apocalypse reached out and grabbed Psylocke by the neck, lifting her up. At the same time, the large wound on his neck closed up in the blink of an eye.
A pained expression crossed Psylocke's face. Then, her skin began to ripple, transforming into a girl with blue skin and red hair.
And that was none other than Mystique, who shared a deep connection with Professor X and Magneto, forming a trio of close friends.
"Raven." Professor X, hidden in the room, sensed Mystique's peril and grew deeply concerned.
"I'll go save them." Beast turned around and started walking out.
"I'm coming with you." Cyclops followed.
"No." Professor X struggled to sit up, "He's after me."
"Charles, you can't walk into his trap." Moira said, "If he finds you, we're all done for, maybe even the whole world."
"Brave hero, just like them, you're so fragile." Apocalypse held Mystique by the neck, lifting her in the air. He shouted, "Charles! Come out! Save these weaklings! Trade your life for theirs!"
"He's right." Apocalypse's words actually gave Professor X an idea, "There is still a connection between him and me. I can enter his mind."
"Thank you for letting me in." The next moment, Professor X lay down.
"Are you going to just stand by?" Outside, Apocalypse was shouting loudly, suddenly finding himself in a strange place.
This place was enveloped in dense fog, as if standing in the clouds.
The man he desperately wanted was standing there, across from him, watching.
"You wanted my abilities, didn't you? You wanted to experience what I feel?" Professor X strode towards Apocalypse, extending his hands and placing them on Apocalypse's head.
Instantly, Apocalypse felt countless people rushing into his mind. The sheer volume of information nearly made his head explode. The pain was so intense that he couldn't help but scream.
In reality, he also felt dizzy and nearly fell over. His hands involuntarily loosened, causing Mystique to fall to the ground.
Finally, he regained his composure.
"Welcome to my world." Professor X delivered a punch to Apocalypse's face.
"Now it's my turn." Professor X swung his fists at Apocalypse repeatedly.
With each punch, walls rose from the ground, creating a house in the empty space, enclosing him and Apocalypse within.
"This Professor X's abilities seem similar to Wanda's," Pietro Maximoff said. "Wanda can enter people's minds too."
"But Professor X's abilities seem more sophisticated," Steve Rogers commented. "It looks like if he can defeat Apocalypse in his mind, then Apocalypse is truly defeated."
"His abilities in this regard are much stronger than mine," Wanda Maximoff added. "He doesn't even need to see, he can sense others without any intersecting spaces. When he enters someone's mind, he's just in, and there's no defense against it."
"Doesn't that mean people susceptible to this kind of mind control are helpless against Professor X? After all, I don't know how to kick the people out of my head," Stephen Strange wondered.
"This Professor X, perhaps he might not be as physically powerful, but he's definitely one of the most terrifying individuals," Bruce Banner praised. "It seems like he can sense anyone at will. He can enter anyone's mind effortlessly. Leaving aside personal privacy concerns, he can silently kill someone in their sleep, and you wouldn't even know where he is."
"What's even scarier is the complete lack of defense," Tony Stark remarked.
"I hope Apocalypse won't be resolved like this," Peter Quill said. "Right now, Professor X seems to have the upper hand."
"I think it's unlikely. This guy is known as the Apocalypse, after all. It feels too hasty for him to lose like this," Thor added.
"Quicksilver is a good example," Loki said. "At first, he was enjoying pummeling Apocalypse, but soon, Apocalypse could actually see him! By the heavens, at that speed, he could actually see the opponent! The current situation is eerily similar to when Quicksilver started, with Apocalypse being overpowered. I believe the final outcome will be the same as last time. This Professor X will eventually be beaten by Apocalypse."
And as it turned out, Thor and Loki were right. In the scene, when Professor X swung his fist again, Apocalypse caught it with one hand.
"You're not powerful enough." Apocalypse exerted force, causing Professor X's bones to crack.
At the same time, Apocalypse began growing larger and larger!
Originally, he and Professor X were both human-sized, but in the blink of an eye, Apocalypse turned into a giant several meters tall!
On the spiritual level, Professor X was suppressed, which immediately reverberated in reality. Professor X lay in agony.
Moira, Phoenix, and the others watched Professor X with concern. But before they could react, the room they were in turned to ashes.
They turned around and saw Apocalypse outside, extending his hand in their direction. He had turned the room into dust, exposing everyone before him.
On the spiritual level, the giant Apocalypse grabbed Professor X's body and tossed him around.
In the real world, Apocalypse was gradually walking toward Professor X, whom he had just located.
Clang! Clang!
Just as Apocalypse was about to reach him, two thick steel beams descended from the sky and embedded themselves in the ground, forming a giant "X" that blocked Apocalypse's path.
Apocalypse looked up and saw Magneto, draped in a cloak, flying over slowly. The magnetic field in the air was dissipating, and the metal objects that had been floating in the air were gradually descending.
"You're betraying me?" Apocalypse asked angrily.
"No, I'm betraying them." Magneto raised both hands, and a large amount of metal on the ground flew up, forming two torrents of steel that thrust towards Apocalypse.
An energy shield in the shape of a circle appeared around Apocalypse's body, radiating flames that consumed the torrents of steel.
"We jump," Beast told Cyclops upon seeing this.
"What?" Although Cyclops didn't know what Beast had in mind, he followed Beast and jumped down.
"Cover me." After landing, Beast instructed Cyclops before rushing toward Mystique, who was lying on the ground.
"It's alright." Beast lifted Mystique and went to Quicksilver, who was trapped by the ground. He pounded the pile of soil beneath Quicksilver's feet, releasing him along with Mystique.
Cyclops had already taken off his stylish sunglasses and had begun the "kill you with my gaze" game.
His eyes were fixed on Apocalypse, and two blinding beams of light shot towards him.
Even though he was subjected to such a fierce attack in the real world, Apocalypse, on the spiritual level, tormented Professor X mercilessly.
"They're not strong enough." Apocalypse grabbed Professor X and threw him several meters away.
"Jean, help me." Professor X had no choice but to turn to Phoenix for assistance, unable to overcome Apocalypse on his own.
As a force to be reckoned with in the mutant film universe, even though the current Phoenix was still a student, her unleashed power was unmatched by anyone else.
Meanwhile, Beast, after rescuing Quicksilver and Mystique, fearlessly reengaged the battle. Roaring like a wild beast, he leaped onto buildings and pounced at Apocalypse.
However, with a mere lifting of his hand, Apocalypse exerted an invisible force that sent Beast flying, causing him to collapse unconscious on the ground.
At this point, Cyclops, who had been relentlessly attacking, couldn't take it any longer and had to close his eyes to rest.
Apocalypse extended his hand again, and Cyclops was hurled away, crashing into a wall.
Just as Cyclops was about to take off his glasses for another "kill you with my gaze" attack, the wall behind him suddenly engulfed him.
"Hank!" Stuck within the wall, Cyclops couldn't free himself and had to call for Beast's help, but Beast still had his eyes shut and couldn't come to the rescue.
In reality, Apocalypse was prevailing against the odds, and on the mental plane, he continued to torment Professor X mercilessly.
"It's over, Charles. You're weakening." Apocalypse pressed Professor X's back with his enormous fist and said, "Now, you're mine."
"You'll never win." Professor X retorted, even in this dire situation, he hadn't lost his resolve.
"What gives you the right to say that?" Apocalypse asked.
"Because you're alone." Bloodied, Professor X opened his eyes, "But I am not alone!"
As he finished speaking, a figure walked in.
In this mental world that was previously occupied only by Apocalypse and Professor X, another presence intruded.
Phoenix!
"Release your power, Jean." Professor X smiled at Phoenix and said, "Don't be afraid."
Without a word, Phoenix started walking towards the giant Apocalypse step by step.
She didn't just approach Apocalypse on the mental plane, but in the physical world too, she walked towards him step by step.
Even though there was no visible path beneath her, she seemed to tread on thin air, as if an invisible road stretched out before her.
Standing amidst the void, she gazed down at Apocalypse, who was single-handedly taking on everyone.
"Release your power!" Professor X shouted, "Let go, Jean!"
"Ah!" Phoenix extended her arms, and a surge of vibrant energy erupted from her body like a volcanic eruption.
Phoenix's intervention had an instant impact.
On the mental plane, the giant Apocalypse shattered into pieces in an instant, ceasing to exist.
In the physical world, Apocalypse's armor immediately disintegrated, and he let out a painful scream.
Despite the combined efforts of Old Man Logan, Professor X, Cyclops, and Beast, they hadn't been able to breach Apocalypse's defense. But as soon as Phoenix acted, the immediate effect was apparent, leaving Apocalypse screaming and his clothes in tatters.
This demonstrated the immense power of Phoenix.
The unconscious Beast was perhaps awakened by the screams. He opened his eyes and saw Cyclops embedded in the wall.
Bang! Bang!
Beast immediately rushed over and punched through the wall, freeing Cyclops from his entrapment.
The first thing Cyclops did upon being freed was to take off his glasses. Two blinding beams of energy shot towards Apocalypse.
At this moment, Apocalypse was already wounded by Phoenix and had been hit by a major attack from Magneto. Several metal pipes were now impaled through his body.
Such injuries would have killed anyone else, but he still held on. Another energy shield materialized around him, protecting him.
Crack!
As Cyclops's energy beams successfully struck the shield, a massive bolt of lightning descended from the sky, striking the shield.
Storm had taken action!
After observing from the shadows for so long, she finally switched sides from Apocalypse's "Four Horsemen" to Professor X's team.
Storm's intervention was the straw that broke the camel's back. Already severely injured, Apocalypse struggled to hold on against the group's attacks, but now, he was utterly defeated. He disintegrated on the spot, leaving nothing behind.
With Apocalypse defeated, the flying individuals, Magneto, Storm, and Phoenix, slowly descended from the sky.
Psylocke saw this scene but chose to leave without saying a word. The others ignored her departure, paying her no attention.
Beast, carrying Cyclops, leaped up to an upper floor. He saw Moira performing CPR on Professor X.
"We've lost him," Moira said sorrowfully, "He's dead."
"He's not dead." Phoenix approached, "I can still sense him."
Phoenix stepped forward and placed her hand on Professor X's head, closing her eyes.
After a brief moment, Phoenix withdrew her hand, and Professor X opened his eyes. "Thank you, Jean."
The space dimmed, and the video ended.
"What an amazing battle," Tony Stark commented. "Second only to Stephen folding the city."
"But I think their abilities are more practical than Stephen folding the city," James Rhodes said. "Just take Cyclops, for instance. His eyes can kill the enemy. His attack speed is as fast as his sight. If he sees you, you're dead. This ability is practically undefendable."
