When I was just a few days away from turning nineteen and Campbell and his father had come over to join me on my first official day in parliament, a small celebratory dinner was held in my honour.

He and I sat next to each other with flushed faces and gentle laughter as our hands constantly and accidentally brushed against each other's as we both reached out for the same things. I could tell he wanted to say something to me privately but under the intense eyes of both our fathers we found ourselves unable to have any privacy at all.

"Do you want to sneak out quickly?" he lowly whispered into my ear just after dessert. We were all in the grand hall, where a live band played music and everyone mingled with drinks in hand.
