Capítulo 2: Part 2 : Outcast And The Shadow Deity

The cell was supposed to be inescapable. Guards whispered of its dark history, of prisoners driven mad by the weight of their confinement. But tonight, as shadows danced and curled around his fingertips, Kazuki knew freedom was within his grasp.

His breath fogged in the chilly air as he extended a trembling hand towards Tsukuyomi. As their fingers interlaced, a jolt of cold, electrifying energy shot up his arm, making his hairs stand on end.

"Embrace the shadows," Tsukuyomi whispered, "and let them guide you towards your vengeance."

As the figure faded, the weight of his newfound power settled within Kazuki. The once-impenetrable cell now felt insignificant.

"Is this truly my new reality?" he pondered, looking at his hands as if they were foreign entities. The pulsating energy beckoned him, and even though it felt alien, he knew he had to harness it.

That night, with the prison shrouded in darkness, Kazuki began to experiment with his new abilities.

He practiced in secret, careful not to draw the attention of the guards or disturb the sleep of his fellow prisoners. He felt the shadows respond to his will, wrapping themselves around him like a protective cloak.

"Control," he murmured to himself, focusing on maintaining his composure amidst the strange sensations that accompanied his newfound power.

He tried teleportation first, using the shadows to move silently from one corner of the cell to another. Each successful attempt brought a newfound sense of confidence, but he knew that he had only begun to scratch the surface of his potential.

The cold sweat trickling down his brow and the rapid beating of his heart were clear indicators of the toll the magic was taking on his physical form. Each time he dissolved into the shadows and reappeared in another, his breath hitched, his strength waned.

He was becoming aware that the magic he had acquired was as demanding as it was powerful. Despite its utility, it drained him and consumed him.

By the third teleportation, his legs wavered, threatening to buckle under his weight. He leaned against the cell wall for support, his chest heaving as he attempted to steady his breath. This was not the kind of magic that he could employ frivolously, he concluded. It was too costly, too exhausting.

Kazuki then turned his attention to a small pointed rock he had found on the floor of his cell earlier. He held it between his fingers, concentrating on imbuing it with shadow magic. To his amazement, the rock became sharper, its edges gleaming with a shadow energy.

The whole process seemed to have little to no impact on his stamina. He felt no different than before, no exhaustion washing over him.

This was an important discovery. Infusing objects with shadow magic stood in stark contrast to his earlier stamina-depleting experiences.

"Remarkable," he whispered, his eyes widening at the sight. He tested the rock's sharpness by lightly pressing it against the stone wall, effortlessly etching a deep mark as though the rock were forged from steel.

As the days passed, Kazuki continued to hone his skills in secret, each night bringing new revelations about the extent of his powers.

Yet, beneath his newfound sense of purpose, there was a lingering fear within Kazuki. He couldn't shake the feeling that with each step closer to mastering the shadow magic, he was losing sight of the man he once was.

The lines between light and darkness were beginning to blur, and he couldn't help but wonder what price he would pay for his vengeance.

"Is this truly the path I must take?" he questioned silently, the shadows seeming to listen intently as they swirled around him. "Can I wield this power without losing myself to it?"

Only time would tell, but for now, Kazuki embraced the darkness, letting it fuel him as he prepared for the day when he would finally face those who had wronged him.

"They should enjoy their slumbers while they can," Kazuki murmured, his voice laced with resolve, "Because I'm coming. Each and every one of them will taste the bitterness of their own demise." he murmured, chuckling softly as he envisioned the fear and panic that would soon grip their hearts.

The following morning, a guard approached his cell, his face a mixture of disdain and unease. "You have five hours left, Kazuki," he sneered, rattling the bars of the cell. "Until you're executed for the death of Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu."

"I can't wait," Kazuki said, his voice unnervingly calm. The guard stiffened, unease creeping up his spine. Kazuki's eyes, once filled with despair, now glittered with a sinister promise, leaving the guard momentarily paralyzed.

Swallowing his unease, the guard stumbled backward, hastily retreating from the cell. The cold stone hallway seemed to close in around him, and he could still feel the chilling intensity of Kazuki's gaze even after he rounded the corner.

As the final hours of his incarceration ticked away, Kazuki couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction at the thought that soon, his enemies would pay for their crimes.
