Capítulo 80: Date

An hour's gone by since Akeno first awoke. We're still atop the small hill her crystal had been sitting on, laying down on the ground as we stare at the starry skies above.

The earth is no longer barren. My Ki had flowed into the ground, and emboldened by Primal and Divine Energy, the life that'd died due to Akeno's void was restored in minutes. Grass runs all across the once barren land, colored by various flowers and even some trees. A gentle wind blows across it all, rustling the leaves and causing the grass to dance.

We lay there, our heads resting on the grass. Neither of us are speaking, and we don't need to. We're both thinking the same thing.

The world is strange. I know we're the ones who caused it in the first place, but we've gotten so used to the dullness of the past, where magic is only done in secrecy. But now, the air itself thrums with power, the winds overflowing with magic. Billions of people are using magic in broad daylight, and the world is more vibrant for it.

And here we are. A god and his devil. I who hold the remnant of YHWH within my eyes, and she who consumed the soul of the first Devil.

What a pair we make.

The Angels would probably start frothing by the mouth if they learn about this. Hell, I'll say the Devils will probably react similarly as well. And the Fallen too.

Ha! This is a trainwreck just waiting to happen, and the two of us will be there to watch it unfold. I mean, it's not like they can do anything about it. If the Angels try anything on Akeno, I'll send Heaven crashing straight to the pacific ocean. If some idiot Devil tries to do something on me, I have an entire entourage of devoted followers at my call.

The question now is,

"What now?" Akeno asks, gently rolling to the side to face me. "You said that the Khaos Brigade are aiming for your head, right?"

I nod. "They want to use me to awaken the Trihexa." I say, staring at the purple line that runs across the sky. "To awaken the Sin of Man and make use of its strength." I scoff. "It won't work, of course. Rivezim might be a descendant of the original Lucifer, but that means little. The Trihexa is born from the Sins of Man. Their Devil blood means nothing to it."

"Hmm." She grins. "I'm almost tempted to let them do it. Just to see the fear when they realize their efforts will all be for naught." She giggles, and a manic glint enters her eyes. "It'll be delectable."

I had a retort building in the back of my mouth there. Had.

Because, honestly, she's not wrong. I am half-tempted to let Khaos Brigade succeed in their mission, just to see it all go wrong.

I won't, of course. The awakening of Trihexa will be the herald of the End. The already fragile reality that's being upheld will shatter at such an enormous outburst of power. I'm not letting this world be destroyed so easily.

I close my eyes. "We can't leave them alone, though. They're up to some…" I idly twirl my hand around. "Tomfoolery."

She snorts. "You don't need to censor yourself." She traces a line across my chest. "I am The Devil, you know."

I chuckle. "Right. I keep forgetting." I sigh. "I told you that I noticed some Vampires stalking me back in Kuoh." I say. She nods. "It's not a willing partnership. Their de-facto leader, Valerie, has been kidnapped and-" I mime the movement of a piston. "Y'know."

"Hmm." She hums, expression free of any horror or sympathy. Only understanding.

I turn away to hide a grimace. It can't be helped. She is, quite literally, the embodiment of the First Sin. It'd be rather strange if she becomes horrified at a heresy as common as that.

…then again, I can't say much myself. Having full access to most of YHWH memories means an understanding of Mankind. Of all the good and the bad. Of all the blessings and the heresies. The information and memories of millions of years swirl in the ether of my soul.

At this point, am I even still me? How much of myself will remain when the last of the universe is unraveled before my eyes?

I shake my head. There's no point in thinking about it.

"The girl's as good as dead. It'll take a miracle to keep her alive."

She stares at me. "You're God." She says. "You make miracles."

I crack a small smile. It falls just a moment later. "Should I, though?" I ask, frowning slightly. "She wants to die. Tearing her away from the comfort of Death," I sigh. "I don't really know if I should."

She shrugs. "It's your choice."

The Sephiroth Graal—a Longinus that grants control over Life to its wielder. The manipulation of living matter, the control over Souls, and the power to rewrite the ethereal DNA of all that lives.

If Zenith Tempest embodies YHWH's destructive creations, then Sephiroth Graal is YHWH's love of Life.

Honestly, why isn't Sephiroth Graal considered one of the strongest Longinus that exists? I mean, yeah, it can't cause a dozen nuclear explosions with a snap or something. But in return, you get the ability to edit the characteristics of everything that lives. You can even start a zombie apocalypse as a prank.

Instead, they consider the Longinus a crack-emboldened version of Twilight Healing.

People have no creativity.

But in truth, I don't really…need it anymore.

Because now I'm a god, and I can do all that and more. I don't need to have that Sacred Gear any longer. And besides, giving someone control of something so powerful is just a bad decision all around.

Ah, fuck it. I'll deal with it in the future.

It's still late, and I'd rather not spend this wonderful night thinking about this.

Instead, we spend the rest of the night just playing around. We've both changed in ways we could've never imagined. Even our most basic strengths—foundations we thought never could've changed have shifted their paradigms.

Akeno's lightning has changed. The previous bright blue had been replaced by a pulsing black. Or well, most of her attacks had gained that same black tint. Even her movements have changed, leaving behind a translucent purple shadow as she moves.

It's a new form of power, born through the unholy mixture of Lucifer's Demonic Energy and the Primal Energy she'd awakened years back. It's the purest form of Sin, changed by Primal Energy yet not consumed entirely.

It's Chaos. The power to scramble Information. It taints her every attack, and she needs to consciously limit herself if she wants to avoid using it. At its most basic, it's the perfect counter to any magical entity. Any structured formulation of Magic will be destroyed by even the slightest graze.

But she can reach further. Information dictates how the universe classifies itself from random noise, and given time, I'm sure she'll reach a point where she'll start tearing apart universal rules just by existing.

Then again, if the universe starts breaking around us, I'll be there to mend it back together.

Magic is the power to manipulate quantized Information. An already expansive art, capable of destroying planets and bending the space-time continuum. A power that relies on the language of mathematics—the bridge between the human tongue and the cosmic infinity.

I don't need Maths anymore. During my time incubating in that amber, the energies inside my body finally threw away their grievances and got along.

And that means my Mana can now be emboldened by both Divine and Primal Energy. The permanence of Divine Energy, and the catalytic empowerment of Primal Energy. I can perform Magic without calculating. I can manipulate quantized Information with only my intent. Given that I can withstand the mental strain, that is.

Still, just the fact that I no longer need to rely on mathematical calculations opens up so many possibilities.

That means I can finally turn my punches into atomic bombs. Which also means I don't need to steal atom bombs from good ol' USA. They get to keep their playing cards for a little longer.

Of course, just because I don't need to, doesn't mean I won't. They have thousands of bombs hiding in those silos of theirs. I'm sure they won't mind if a dozen or two just happen to vanish into thin air.

"You know, I just thought of something." Akeno suddenly says, eyes bright with mischief.

I raise an eyebrow. "Hmm?"

She turns to me, and she pinches her fingers together. "Only around 2% of a nuclear bomb's payload actually undergoes fission. The rest has no time to react before the explosion occurs." She snaps her fingers together, and a small arc of black lightning rises from her nails. "I wonder what'll happen if all of it explodes?"

I blink for a moment, and then realize what she's implying. "Akeno, no."

She grins at me. "Akeno, yes."

I roll my eyes. "2% was enough to wipe out Hiroshima." I say, using my eyes to see what a fully activated nuclear bomb could do. The predictions aren't pretty. "The reaction of a full payload will genuinely ignite the atmosphere."

She giggles. "That'll be a pretty sight."

I open my mouth to retort, but I stop myself. Despite how macabre her words are, her words are genuine. She does want to see what it'll look like.

So I sigh. "Fine." I say, mentally noting down the relative coordinates of Mercury. "We can try." Her eyes light up the moment I say that. "We'll be doing it on another planet, though. I'm not-"

"Thank you." She says, a beautiful smile adorning her cheeks.

"...yeah, yeah." I turn away, hoping it'd hide the slight tint of red on my cheeks. "Whatever you say."

She grins, and sensually traces her finger across my chest. Arcs of black lightning fizzle from her finger, and it makes my chest tingle. "Now that's new." She says, cupping my chin with her other hand. "Is Issei embarrassed?"

I groan. "Why are you like this?"

She just giggles.
