GWEN
To keep going.
Peter sits by Gwen, she begins to cry.
GWEN (cont'd)
I couldn't stop them. I'm too weak.
PETER
Hey, you're safe, that's what matters-
GWEN
No! People are going to die because of me! Because I wasn't good enough. I'm, I'm-
PETER
Shh, it's okay.
Peter hugs a weeping Gwen.
PETER (cont'd)
Is there anything we can do to take your mind off things?
Gwen looks up at Peter, she kisses him.
GWEN
All I want to do is sleep.
PETER
Then we'll sleep.
Gwen rests her head on Peter's shoulder.
INT. OSCORP, PENTHOUSE - NIGHT
Norman pours a small glass of whiskey in his Penthouse suite. He swirls the glass and takes a deep sniff.
He drinks.
A SCRATCHING noise from across the penthouse snatches his attention.
NORMAN
Hello? Who's there? Show yourself!
In the shadows, framing Norman, Scorpion's tail slithers around, undetected.
Norman slowly reaches for the radio by his desk when suddenly...
SMASH.
Norman drops his drink due to the Prowler lunging out from the shadows and picking Norman up by the throat.
Norman struggles.
Scorpion slithers across the ceiling and down the wall. Her stinger brushes Norman's face.
SCORPION
Hello Norman.
NORMAN
Winona?
SCORPION
No... You killed Winona. I'm new, better. I'm what you made me. A monster!
She pierces Norman's shoulder with her stinger. He winces in pain. Soon, his eyes grow heavy and he passes out.
SCORPION (cont'd)
Sweet dreams, hun...
INT. PARKER RESIDENCE - MORNING
Gwen and Peter rest against each other in bed. Gwen stirs. She sits up and rubs her eyes. Peter grabs her shoulders and pulls her back down and cuddles her.
She slowly pries herself from his grip and crawls out of bed. She walks over to the end of the bed and opens her back-pack. She takes out her phone and notices a notification. A live situation on the Brooklyn Bridge.
Gwen takes a moment to contemplate.
PETER
Go...
Gwen turns to find Peter looking at her phone too.
PETER (cont'd)
He's a bad guy, yeah, but Spider-Woman SAVES lives.
GWEN
But-
PETER
No. Go. It's who you are. A hero.
Peter grabs her face and kisses her lovingly.
They break and stare into each other's eyes.
PETER (cont'd)
You have a corrupt businessman to save.
Gwen kisses Peter one last time.
Peter turns to get up. WHOOSHING is heard from behind. Peter turns to find Gwen fully suited up in her dusty, and slightly torn, costume.
PETER (cont'd)
Huh, have you always been able to change that fast?
GWEN
Only when the bruises disappear.
Gwen winks at Peter before pulling down her mask and jumping over to his window. She opens it and leaps out into a swing.
EXT. BROOKLYN BRIDGE - MOMENTS LATER
Norman slowly opens his eyes to find himself bound and dangling above the river. He panics and squirms.
A news helicopter watches from a distance.
Scorpion approaches Norman.
SCORPION
Tell them what you did to me.
NORMAN
What happened to you was your own fault!
SCORPION
LIAR!
Scorpion cuts the rope, letting Norman fall a little, and catches him with her tail.
SCORPION
Tell. Them.
NORMAN
Never.
SCORPION
Then die.
Scorpion lets go. Norman screams as he falls. Scorpion turns to Prowler.
PROWLER
I didn't hear a splash.
Scorpion turns her head and looks over the edge.
From underneath, Spider-Woman swings around and kicks Scorpion in the face, Norman in her arms. She zips a little further away and lands with Norman.
SCORPION
You...
NORMAN
Thank you, Spider-Woman-
Spider-Woman webs Norman to a nearby wall.
NORMAN (cont'd)
Hey! What the hell!
SPIDER-WOMAN
We have a lot to talk about, later. Stay put Osborn.
Scorpion snarls.
SCORPION
Why couldn't you just stay away?
SPIDER-WOMAN
That's not very superhero of me is it?
Scorpion fires a ball of acid from her stinger, Spider-Woman dodges easily and zips over to Scorpion. Prowler tries to intercept, but Spider-Woman fires a web below and pulls herself down, dodging the attack.
She continues moving towards Scorpion, striking her with a punch.
Scorpion flies of one of the bridge's beams, but catches herself with her tail and flings herself up.
Prowler also turns back around and readies another attack.
When Scorpion lunges her stinger forward, Prowler leaps at Spider-Woman. Spider-Woman slides under the stinger, then jumps over Prowler and webs Scorpion's stinger to the metal supports.
Prowler uses his claws to spin quickly, but is immediately struck by a kick to the jaw which sends him off the bridge.
Spider-Woman zips back over to Scorpion and begins to cocoon her.
SPIDER-WOMAN (cont'd)
Hey, while I'm here, where's Shocker? I would've expected him to be here.
Scorpion breaks free and wraps her tail around Spider-Woman, before throwing her into the air.
SCORPION
Herman wasn't allowed to come, we were filled to capacity.
Spider-Woman dodges, mid-air, another acid projectile.
SPIDER-WOMAN
Shame, he was kinda cool!
Spider-Woman shoots two webs at Scorpion and pulls her.
SPIDER-WOMAN (cont'd)
Get over here!
Scorpion blocks Spider-Woman's kick with her tail and counters by slamming her down, also with her tail.
Spider-Woman dents the metal when she lands, but quickly dodges Scorpion who jams her stinger into the metal.
Spider-Woman fires another two webs and slingshots herself at Scorpion's face again, this time, sending her falling into the traffic below. Spider-Woman tries to swing under the metal but is tackled mid-air by Prowler.
A driver leaves his car as Prowler and Spider-Woman slam into it. Prowler tries punching Spider-Woman while she's down, but she dodges. Prowler punches a hole into the roof.
Spider-Woman kicks Prowler with a kip-up and shoots a web which wraps him up completely.
Through traffic, Scorpion is knocking cars off the bridge left and right. Spider-Woman jumps off the bridge and manages to web up a few cars, leaving them dangling.
