There were many influential people in the magnificent banquet hall. Every visitor in attendance was an expert in their industry.
Jenna was mentally ready to run into Rex once more. She had already let him go, so her heart didn't flutter when she saw him.
Even though everyone knew Rex had a former spouse, Rex had never brought her to formal events. Everyone had only heard of her by name, even when the previous statement went viral online.
Jenna giggled lightly as she noticed Alice standing beside Rex and wondered, 'She took my spot so soon?'
Gino lovingly patted her arm after noticing how she was feeling.
"Don't be frightened. I am with you."
Jenna's grin broadened. "No, I'm not the
one who should be afraid."
'I don't worry anymore.'
'What exactly should I fear? I'm
invincible!'
Gino approached Rex. A pair of men
were both equally popular and
similar in every way.
"I've heard a lot about you, Mr. Hidalgo."
"So have I, Mr. Anderson."
After shaking hands, the two men instantly separated. Rex was gazing intently at Gino's neighbor.
Gino stood next to Jenna as she grinned brightly. Her tailored outfit made her fair skin look beautiful, and her eyes were sparkling and clear. Rex could not keep his eyes off her since she appeared to be a different person than before.
He was unfamiliar with and wary of the radiant Jenna before him but also felt a fatal desire. A complex emotion rose in Rex's heart, but he could only stare at her impassively.
Did she visit Gino on the day she disappeared? How does she feel about Gino Anderson?
Rex was experiencing intense emotions at the time and was at a loss for words while trying to explain them. His black eyes began to grow increasingly angry.
Alice observed Rex's eyes spark with amazement when he first met Jenna. Jenna, why are you here? She yelled in a harsh voice while grinning covertly. Do you believe you can come and go as you please?"
She was urging Jenna not to lose sight of her lowly status.
Rex creased his brow, but Gino's icy rhetorical query prevented him from doing so.
"And from what family are you?" His tone was distant and interrogative.
As Alice froze, she lost track of Jenna's companion and hurriedly tried to correct the problem. Sir, you might not know this, but Jenna and Rex divorced.
She believed that Jenna had found herself another sugar daddy and needed to reveal Jenna's divorced esteem to him.
Gino's cold demeanor was stifling. Is it a rule that divorced persons are not allowed to attend? Is Mr. Hidalgo not also present?"
Alice tucked her hair behind her ear in an embarrassing attempt to get Rex's attention.
Rex didn't try to get her out of the uncomfortable situation; instead, he just stood there motionless.
Jenna scoffed as she lowered her head a little.
"Ms. Flourence, do I need to report to you, whoever I'm with? Do you not believe that you have gone too far?"
There was no need for Jenna to back down in this tit-for-tat when Alice was causing issues.
Even though the Rex and Alice affair had been put to rest, it had already taken off like wildfire online. Nobody thought Rex and Jenna's divorce was amicable.
Although many people were at the party, Jenna did not even give Rex a passing glance.
"It appears that Ms. Florence's attendance has caused the quality of this banquet to drop," Gino stated icily as he sent Alice a harsh gaze. It would be best to raise your standards when choosing female dates, Mr. Hidalgo. Gino escorted Jenna to the other side of the hall after stating that he had no desire to spend more time with important people.
Alice pouted pitifully as she expressed her humiliation at being made fun of by such a respectable person.
She said, "Rex..." in a shaky and mournful tone.
Rex was not in the mood to think about anything else, and he glared at the two retreating backs with a chilly and grim expression.
We haven't been divorced long, yet that woman feigned not to notice me while she was living in style. She even stumbled into another man's arms?'
Rex left Alice alone and met some business associates when they arrived.
The floor-to-ceiling window overlooked a sizable swimming pool. This area was quiet and empty. Jenna appeared to be observing the moonlight's reflection in the lake while holding a glass of red wine.
'Why should an abandoned wife expelled from the Hidalgo household be permitted to attend such an opulent banquet? wondered Alice.'
