As a student, doing homework every day was considered normal. However, Hogwarts students were undoubtedly lucky since their workload was light. Homework was usually due every other week, giving students plenty of time to complete it. They could leave all their homework until Saturday and Sunday, or even until the day before it was due, and copy from someone else at the last minute.
In fact, this situation was not uncommon at all.
Hogwarts was known as the best wizarding school, but it was also the only one in the UK, making it naturally the best.
Of course, all of this had nothing to do with Albert.
Well, Albert was a somewhat selfish person to begin with.
For him, as long as he could learn the necessary knowledge at school, that was enough.
Having magical power, an extraordinary force, was undoubtedly an exciting thing.
If asked what excited him the most?
It definitely wouldn't be power, or women, or injecting strange things into himself; it was becoming stronger, gaining power.
Watching himself gradually grow stronger, gaining more power, that feeling was incredibly invigorating, even addicting.
People who pursued power were often regarded as villains who would fall into corruption, but the vast majority of them were just weaklings.
For others, chasing after power might be difficult, but for Albert, making himself stronger was actually quite simple—just learn more spell skills and level up his skills.
One of Albert's secrets to becoming stronger: doing homework.
For others, doing homework might just be about getting it done.
But for Albert, doing homework was also a way to gain more experience, and with experience, he could level up his skills and become more powerful.
However, how to squeeze more experience from homework was also a subject of study.
Albert would ask himself, "What is the content of this homework? Why do I have to write this part? What is its purpose?"
Three questions in a row would help keep his brain active and strengthen his memory.
Well, actually, all of this was just nonsense. The main reason was that Albert found that thinking while doing homework helped him gain more experience.
Generally, it would hover between one to three times the usual experience.
Of course, it might take a little more time, but it was totally worth it.
"What's wrong?" Lee Jordan asked.
Fred and George entered the Great Hall looking depressed and sat down on chairs next to Albert.
"It's Fletchley. He just gave us trouble because we came back from training and left muddy footprints on the floor." George gritted his teeth. "It's raining outside, how could we not leave watermarks on the floor just coming back from training? Fletchley actually made us clean the floor and remove the mud and watermarks."
"Use magic," Albert suggested.
"You and your way of thinking." Fred couldn't help but grumble, "Fletchley is retaliating against us!"
"I know." Albert replied without hesitation, "If Fletchley insists on using a mop, you guys can go blow up his office another day."
Albert naturally knew what was going on.
Last semester, the twins filled Fletchley's office with the smell of garlic, and he was now planning to get back at them.
"Looks like we need to order more dungbombs." The twins said in unison.
"I still have some; I can support you as a friend." Lee Jordan grinned.
"By the way, what are you doing?" Fred stared at Albert's wand and asked with a frown.
"Practicing how to release a Patronus." Albert flipped through his notes and continued, "In the morning, when I went to have tea with Professor Smith, I specifically asked him about this."
Every time Albert communicated with others, he would take a moment to ask them questions about himself, and they usually helped him find answers.
"Can you do it?" George was now even more curious.
"Not yet! At least not for the moment."
Albert softly incanted the spell, causing the tip of his wand to glow again. Then, he lightly shook his wand, just like shaking the light away from the top of the wand.
Albert's Lumos spell had already reached level two. He wasn't even sure when it had advanced to this level, but without a doubt, he had become more proficient in casting the spell.
Now, there even seemed to be a trend of casting spells without speaking.
And why did this change occur?
It was all thanks to Albert upgrading his wizarding bloodline to level four.
After graduating last semester, he successfully completed the Glory task for Gryffindor, which gave him 1 skill point. Adding the two points from the rescue mission task, Albert upgraded his wizarding bloodline to level three.
After reaching level three, Albert felt a significant change in himself, his magical power increased quite a bit. As a result, he directly accepted the Witcher's Path task and upgraded his wizarding bloodline to level four.
Well, actually, Albert was worried that the skill could only be upgraded to level five.
According to the experience needed for level three, which was 10,000, the skill level wouldn't be too high; otherwise, even if he had the experience, he wouldn't be able to keep up with it.
If after level two, leveling up the skill required a five-fold increase in experience, level five would require 250,000 experience, which would be almost impossible to fill.
So, Albert's judgment was that level five was the limit.
He wouldn't risk waiting until after level four to attempt the upgrade; if he could only reach level four, he would cry in the bathroom.
Of course, another reason he chose to upgrade at this time was that he wanted to stir up some trouble.
Causing trouble required strength, and strength was the source of confidence. Increasing his magical power was undoubtedly the fastest way to increase his strength.
So, Albert was quite confident when facing Hagrid and even wanted to get some tasks from him. However, the result was a bit disappointing.
With the increase in magical power, Albert's magic became even more potent, and learning magic was faster than before. Moreover, he might even have the opportunity to try to find the so-called Gryffindor's treasure in the Forbidden Forest.
As for how much benefit he could gain from this task, Albert was quite looking forward to it.
"Stop shaking it; you're about to blind someone!" Shanna couldn't help but complain.
As soon as she finished speaking, she saw a faint light ball separating from the wand, slowly flying up like a firefly, and suddenly disappearing without warning.
"Did I just see things?" Shanna rubbed her eyes and murmured.
"No, you didn't; I saw it too!" Lee Jordan widened his eyes in astonishment, looking at Albert, "How did you do that?"
"Well," Albert recalled the feeling he had just had, "It seems like..."
Then, in front of everyone's eyes, another light ball separated from the wand, but it also disappeared into thin air shortly afterward.
"I wanted it to separate from the wand." Albert spoke softly, "However, it seems that I can't control the light ball."
According to Smith, after the light ball separated from the wand, it could be controlled with a simple command.
Albert had not fully succeeded, but this was undoubtedly a good start. Now, he just needed to practice more according to Smith's teachings.
"I never knew the Lumos spell could be used like this." Shanna took out her wand and tried it, but unfortunately, she didn't succeed. So, she couldn't help but ask, "Is there a trick to it?"
At this moment, everyone pricked up their ears, afraid of missing the so-called trick.

"You said... a trick?" Albert intentionally stretched his voice, pretending to be pondering how to answer the question.
After a moment, he spoke, "The trick is... to bring the same determination you have during final exams and practice spells diligently."
Originally, Albert wanted to say it was cheating, but after careful consideration, he gave up on that idea. No one would probably understand what "cheating" meant.
At this moment, the expressions on everyone's faces froze. They thought they would hear something useful, but Albert was just teasing them again.
Before they could voice their thoughts, Albert continued, "Alright, actually, this is a kind of magic variation, somewhat like... hmm, Leg-Locker Curse and Full Body-Bind Curse. Of course, this magic is more challenging to master than the Lumos spell."
"So, you weren't shaking your wand just now?" Shanna finally understood what was going on.
It was just that, casting a spell while the tip of the wand was glowing gave people the illusion that the light ball was shaken off from the glowing wand.
"Of course not." Albert looked speechless, not expecting that they would think that. Well, he had to admit that it did look like he was randomly shaking the wand.
The curiosity of everyone didn't last long. They might be interested in the spells Albert was practicing, but not many would want to learn. For most students, in addition to doing their homework, they had to practice the spells from class, which occupied a lot of their free time and attention. They simply didn't have the spare time or effort to practice new, more complex spells.
Especially spells they couldn't understand and required a lot of time to learn.
Shanna was undoubtedly the most efficient student in her year, at least when it came to doing homework, which was probably related to her Muggle education in the past.
After finishing her homework, Shanna started using pieces of paper to practice the Duplication Charm.
It was a spell she learned from Albert, and while it wasn't too difficult to learn, it still required a considerable amount of time to practice in order to master it.
Unlike Shanna, Albert's progress was very fast. The light ball he produced was getting bigger, and it didn't immediately extinguish. Moreover, he could even make it fly forward for a distance.
This visible rate of progress was indeed shocking, and they all realized that Albert would likely master this magic in no time.
Shanna looked up, staring at the floating light ball above her head, her face full of disbelief. "Is it that easy to succeed?"
From the time Albert started practicing until now, it had only been less than half an hour!
"There's no need to be surprised; this is normal." Fred consoled offhandedly, "Albert must have practiced secretly; you just didn't know."
Albert glanced at the skill panel; the skill was only at 65 experience points and hadn't reached level one yet, but the gained experience was already remarkable.
"Looks like you forgot about the gathering time." Someone interrupted their thoughts.
Katarina appeared behind Albert at some point, also looking up at the disappearing light ball above her head, with a thoughtful expression on her face.
"I never thought you'd come to remind me." Albert put down his wand, took out his pocket watch, opened the lid, and checked the time. "There are still twenty minutes."
"Last time, you took me to Classroom 21, so this time, I'll take you to Classroom 17," Katarina turned around and said to Albert, her back facing him, "It evens things out."
The two were talking about the Magic Club, and they both received invitations.
In fact, on the day after Katarina said that Albert wasn't invited, he received an invitation from Professor Flitwick. Similar to last year's invitation to Professor McGonagall's Transfiguration Club, the task panel directly completed a task related to the Magic Club and rewarded him with 2000 experience points.
After completing the task, Albert directly raised his theoretical magic skill to level two. At least when attending the club, he wouldn't have to worry about not understanding what Professor Flitwick was saying. Moreover, the 2000 experience points reward from the task was not used up entirely; there was still one-third left.
George looked up at the two figures walking away and muttered softly, "When did their relationship become so good?"
"Geniuses tend to be friends with other geniuses," Shanna said, rolling her eyes.
"What does that make the rest of us, then?" Fred disagreed. Their relationships were all good, especially after Albert risked going into the Forbidden Forest to find them a few months ago.
If Albert didn't consider them friends, how could he have taken such a big risk?
"Roommates," Shanna said without hesitation.
"No, no," George didn't pay much attention to this remark, shaking his index finger playfully, "We're geniuses too, you know!"
"What kind of geniuses?" Lee Jordan couldn't help but jest, "Geniuses in causing trouble?"
"I think Katarina has it tough," Fred remarked.
"Tough?"
"She seems to enjoy competing with Albert, which isn't a good choice," Fred took out a deck of cards from his pocket and waved them in front of Shanna, "Want to play a game?"
Shanna didn't even look up and asked, "Aren't you supposed to be doing your homework?"
"Forget it, pretend I didn't say anything."
Seeing Fred concede, George and Lee Jordan couldn't help but laugh.
In fact, they admired Albert's talent too, but as his friends and roommates, the three of them were well aware of Albert's situation. Perhaps he was indeed a genius, but in secret places, he put in unimaginable effort.
To master those spells, Albert also needed to spend a considerable amount of time researching and practicing.
Especially when it came to writing to his "pen pals," the letters he sent were thick and becoming thicker each time, almost anti-wizard.
The three had seen the contents before, and the feeling of being able to understand each word but not the overall meaning was awful.
Those things were much harder than the homework they did.
Albert managed to write several letters a week, and he also received the same number of replies, which was terrifying in their eyes.
However, despite all of this, that guy still seemed more leisurely than them.
Katarina was a genius, but in the eyes of the three, she was just that. That was why Fred said competing with Albert was tough for her.
Sometimes, being a genius wasn't terrifying; what was terrifying was when your opponent was a genius and worked even harder than you.
Because they had long been left so far behind that they couldn't even see Albert's shadow, they didn't feel any jealousy. They were all aware that they were no longer on the same level as Albert in certain aspects.
