After leaving the restaurant, Daohua and Han Xinran were no longer in the mood to continue strolling; they got into the carriage and headed back to the Yan Residence.
On the way, Han Xinran looked at Daohua and hesitated to say, "Madam Guo seemed rather strange today."
Daohua scoffed, "These noble ladies from Beijing are probably praised too much and have become dim-witted, developing all sorts of odd habits. They always like to preach to others. Just indulge them. They give you a good face; if you don't play along, they'll get all huffy. Who cares about her."
Han Xinran gained a new understanding of her husband's legitimate sister; such temperament... it's not something any ordinary family can muster.
