"I asked another teacher to cover my class," Qiao Yujuan informed her daughter. She followed with a concerned question, "Wanwan, are you okay?"

Knowing that Xiao Yichen had been involved with another woman, the mayor's daughter, Lin Wan's suffering must have been profound.

"I'm fine," Lin Wan replied, rubbing her eyes again, concealing any signs of her tears.

Fortunately, Lin Wan looked groggy, and her mother didn't notice her reddened eyes.

"Then rest for a little longer. I'll prepare lunch for you now," Qiao Yujuan said, seeing that her daughter didn't want to talk further. She would find a better time to have a serious talk with her later.
