The dense forest around us made it hard to breathe, and it was dark due to the thick foliage atop the trees blocking the sunlight. I felt like something watched us from the shadows, and that was not good.
"Ma Chen, are you alright?" I asked him.
He threw up and sat on the ground for ten minutes before recovering. "The teleport really got me," he said.
I nodded sympathetically, understanding the disorienting effects of teleportation. The sudden shift in location could easily take a toll on even the strongest of individuals. As Ma Chen regained his composure, I couldn't shake the feeling that we were being closely observed. The eerie silence that enveloped the forest only intensified my unease, and I couldn't help but wonder if there was something more lurking within these ancient woods.
