Sarell sat on his knees on Prince Velia's bed, he was spaced out, pale green eyes staring at nothing. Nothingness was his only companion; there was nothing to do and he couldn't leave the Crown Prince's chambers.

Before leaving to become Prince Reqiel's caretaker, he had spent all of his time inside Prince Velia's chambers. Although they had both been teenagers then, Prince Velia was just as standoffish, maybe even more so when he was much younger.

So he hadn't really understood Prince Reqiel's demands for freedom, at least the third Prince had an entire castle to himself but now he did. Prince Velia's rooms were by no means small, the ceilings high but he felt claustrophobic, he missed the sun on his skin.
