They returned to Prince Cederic's carriage when the sun had begun to wane in the sky. The carriage was stocked full with books because Reqiel kept buying piles of them every time he went into a new bookstore.

"Can you read?" Reqiel asked Andras when they were settled in the carriage amongst the bounty they had scrounged from the city square.

"Some," Andras placidly replied, although he was fluent in several languages, most obsolete.

"Do you want any book? I realize I should have asked this while we were shopping." He chuckled self consciously, the carriage smoothly rolling over cobbled roads.

Andras glanced at the pile of books, knowing well that the Angel wouldn't stop asking until he accepted his offer. He took a book at random and held onto it.
