Capítulo 4: The old Man
Tired of trekking all the way from SKYVILLE high school to High Street; I was getting exhausted, just then I remember that I haven't retrieve the itunes gift card my dad brought me; luckily for me; I was just passing the vendor shop, I quickly dashed into it.
'I met the vendor guy listening to music on his phone with your ear pods, I had to speak loud to get his attention: "Hey hey!!!!!!!", I waved my hand; damn the guy should notice quickly I walked into the store.
"Hey I have to retrieve this gift card" I told him dragging my backpack open so that I can bring it.
"Sorry for that, I was Just listening to this new song, you've heard 'JEALOUSY' by Offset and Cardi B, man this song is mad!!"
I didn't appreciate what he just said, guess my mind is trying to get this money, probably gonna be late for Guardian of the Galaxy 2; if this Guy would just do his work".
"Thanks; I replied after he had gave me my money and left; I got carried by the aroma of this Vanilla Ice Cream and brought for myself".
Walking down the street hearing many thing discuss my people, yeah I got good hearing; so there is this one that caught my attention; people think that the Wife of Superstar JUSTIN BIEBER Is pregnant; wow maybe, that chick gonna be pregnant; it's been five years now since they are married.
"Hey old man, get out of the road".A Trespasser tried to signal the man of a Car coming, The old man probably in his 70s yeah he looks so old, homeless and thirty, he was about to pick something up which I think fell from the cart he was carrying alongside with him; maybe he was mute cause he was still pick alot of old clothes,books and things of the ancient days.
"Hey Old man", I tried to signal him but to no avail, I didn't know before I tried to walk to him, the car was damn close and I think the driver hasn't noticed the Old Man on the road trying to pick something.
I didn't know before I even believe that I pushed the man off the road to the other side of the road like in the movies.
"I saved someone life; I lamented to my self, "I can't believe I said someone life, adjusting myself and asking the Old Man if he is okay; I noticed alot of people looked at me; definitely witnessing the whole incident.
"Hey are you guy okay, you alright" I see the driver pleading; " I think we are fine; the old man deaf, I think it's can hear us". I said; " I'm really sorry for what just happened, I was looking at the the road, and thank you kid for saving this Old Man life and my guts in going to jail". he handshake me before he left; by them I can witness lots of people looking at.
I quickly get up, noticed I wasn't hurt and there is the Old Man pushing his cart". he smiled at me with appreaciation.
"What a day" I said to myself; I looks at the Old man finding it hard to pull the cart along with him, I don't know out of no where I just felt the need to help this Homeless Old man, so not what I always do but today was different, sounds like responsibility; I laughed.
"Wait up; I screams at the Old Man who was going my way too; I ran to him and signals for him to let me push the cart which he kindly accepts; I just felt the need of helping this Old Man; the cart was neither difficult nor easy to push; We pulled along the cart from the High street 1st Lane to 3rd Lane which I lives in 4th Lane.
He directed me to a small space between two house which I admit there he lives, he was really Homeless I guess right; I stopped the cart feeling exhausted and tired.
"Thank you kid, you really help me from 1st Lane to third lane, thank you; that's really nice of you son". he smiled saying.
'Wait the Old Man can talk, "So you can talk Old Man; I asked the old man.
"I never say I can't talk; he question me with a smile, "No way you let me help me all the time" I replied him back; "I never ask for you help either; he smiled looking at me.
So I asked him "You live here; he didn't replied but told me "Son, it's definitely to find help like you, I mean I was walking and pushing the cart by myself; people thinks that I'm just a old dirty homeless man who wasted his life when he was an adult and here his me".he said with a smile on his face.
I was starring at the Old Man white beards who looks like Dumbledore in Harry Potter series; he caught me and says"You looking at my beards, you gonna get them before just 60 years from now". we both laughed.
"That a whole lot of age", I said." you better make good ues of it" he replied immediately.
"Alright Old Man, I'm gonna go now, my name is Jaxe copper and is nice meeting you", I said about to make a move.
"My name is Griffin, pleasure is all mine", he said with that smile which wouldn't leave his face.
I gave him an handshake feeling the texture of this old palms; Alright Old man Griffin I Walk away to my destination hurriedly to catch up the before 5pm to watch cinema.
"Hey Kid you forget something" he called my attention back; what most I have forgot I wondered".
