"Ugh… damn it. This hurts…"
An aphrodisiac? Because of a boy? Seriously!? Were the gods playing with his fate?
Of all the creatures on earth, why did he have to feel this way because of a boy? And worst of all, he was a human! The kind of creature Maximillian hated and cursed the most! Even for a human, that boy was very ugly.
Maximillian looked at the sun that was shining brightly outside.
"Are you playing with me? Do you think I will lose your game? It doesn't matter if you are a god, I will beat this. I, a great dragon, will never be defeated by your cunning games. You damn gods!"

Maximillian's condition was getting worse. He had tried soaking his body in cold water for several hours, but the burning sensation within him never subsided.
He was a dragon. Heat or flame would never burn him, but the heat that attacked him this time could not be extinguished.
The door to his room was wide open, showing a breathless Luca. His subordinate's worried face made Maximillian want to laugh.
"My Lord, what happened to you? Why are you sweating while soaking in the tub?"
"That servant. I want you to kill him."
"Servant? You mean Eden?"
"Yes, he made me like this. Kill him and I will never feel pain like this again."
"What do you mean, My Lord? You've never felt pain before. Even the hottest flame will never make you sweat. What can an ordinary human like Eden do?"
Maximillian got up from the tub. He used his bathrobe carelessly. The heat was bothering him. Coupled with Luca, a subordinate who never understood his order, he was getting agitated. If Luca asked unimportant things like this again, then he would just kill the servant himself with his hands.
"Heat. My Lord, are you in heat?" asked Luca after seeing his master's body.
Maximillian momentarily stopped in his place.
"Heat? Are you stupid? I don't have a mate. That would never happen to me"
"But, My Lord… you don't look well!"
"THEN KILL HIM TO FINISH THIS QUICKLY!" Maximillian's scream echoed into Edna's room.
Edna shook with fear. She was sure she had done nothing wrong. Her master was the one who came to her room first and suddenly said something strange. The man even tasted her blood.
Did the man realize her power? If they knew that her blood could heal diseases and wounds, Edna would most likely be killed. Or at the very least, she would be used like how her father used her blood.
Edna looked at her bag that was filled with her things. She was facing two difficult choices; run away to save herself with the high possibility that she would be captured by the royal troops or stay in this mansion and possibly be killed by Luca.
Five more minutes. Edna would wait for another five minutes. If she heard another commotion, she would immediately run away without a second thought.
Five minutes quietly passed. Edna made a deal with herself to wait another five minutes. She kept postponing it until the night came.
CRASH!
Loud bangs could be heard up to her room. Suddenly, there was a hurried knock on her door.
"Eden! Are you in there? Can you come out for a moment? I need your help!"
Edna just looked at the door. It was Luca's voice. Many possibilities ran through her mind, and she was terrified. What help could she give to her master? If it was just to make dinner, of course, she would do it. However, the situation now was not like that.
"Eden? Are you inside?" called Luca again.
Edna then mustered up the courage to hear what Luca had to say. She had come this far. She must have the courage to show some confrontations.
"Ah, so you're inside. Thanks Eden … Eden, I need your help right now."
"What… can I do for you?"
Luca turned his face as though thinking about what he wanted to say. He needed to tell the boy in front of him the words that were easy to understand without causing misunderstandings.
He then saw the scar on the neck of the boy in front of him. It seemed it was the mark inscribed by his master. There were two scratches, one looked very thin and the other was quite deep. It seemed that the deep one was his master's doing.
"Eden. Our master, Lord Maximillian, is in… heat."
"Heat?" Edna asked. He didn't what Lucas mean.
"Yes. I need your help to extinguish the heat in his body."
Edna took a step back. "Me? What can I do? I don't know what heat is and how to help him to get rid of it."
Luca understood. In front of him was an ordinary human. The boy certainly would never feel what they felt.
As Maximillian's condition worsened, he would slowly have hallucinations. Luca knew exactly what Maximillian was feeling because he also felt it when he met his mate for the first time.
His mate refused him so Luca had to hold back, being tormented for quite some time. In the end, his mate agreed after being convinced by the other dragons.
Yes, he and his master were dragons from another continent. They flew through seas of monsters, as well as fierce storms to find a medicine that was said could cure all kinds of ailments, diseases, and wounds.
Maximilian was the leader of their tribe, and he immediately flew to save his friend's life. His only friend and also Luca's friend. A queen from another kingdom. For the past ten years, the queen had only been able to lie on her bed. No medicine could cure her.
Everyone was looking for medicine all over the world. Maximillian also joined the search. But, who would have thought when they arrived in this kingdom, they heard rumors that one of the nobles was selling medicine that could cure any diseases, ailments, and wounds.
They kept digging into who this nobleman was, but no one wanted to open their mouths. His master's patience was getting thinner day by day. Spending time around humans, the creatures he hated the most made Maximilian want to burn down this kingdom. Fortunately, there was Luca who could always hold the man back.
And now, who would have thought that his master… who had always been lonely without a mate, would suddenly feel this way. Luca certainly felt empathized because he knew the pain of holding back the desire.
