Capítulo 106: A burden for the road

"It is settled then. Kayla will be going with the Dreamwalkers," the elder declared, rising from his seat and tapping the ground with his cane.

The villagers dispersed quietly as the old man gave them permission to leave. Even though they dared not speak openly of it, Xander could tell that they were relieved to get rid of the cursed child and his mother.

Once they had all left, Kayla approached Leena and expressed her gratitude through tears. "Thank you for everything. I will pack our belongings and join you soon."

As Leena gave the nod of approval, Kayla walked away, heading for her hut.

"What the hell were you thinking? Why would you want to bring a Godless One with us?" Xander laid into Leena as soon as everyone was gone.

"She needed our help. Why can't we take them with us?" Leena asked.
