Capítulo 72: You Can Never Surpass The Original

The resounding slap echoed throughout the room, its intensity making it seem as though even Cian could feel the pain. Lola, upon receiving the slap, tumbled to the floor. She instinctively reached a hand to touch her stinging cheek. The pain, at first delayed, began to register.

"Lola! What on earth were you saying to our guests? It is you who has been disrespectful!" Micesse scolded her sternly.

"But, Papa!" Lola protested, her eyes welling up with tears. "They didn't bow to me as they should have!"

"They were not supposed to bow to you! They are guests, not commoners!" her father snapped back.

"B-But I thought... I..."

"No more excuses, Lola. You have shown great disrespect toward our guests! You should be utterly ashamed of your behavior!"

Lola's attention then shifted to the two women standing behind Cian. They, too, had not bowed to her.

"But they—"

"I said enough! Do not bring further shame upon me!"
