CHAPTER XXIII: REALIZATION
What the fuck is up with this stupid System!?

START OR SKIP
The notification popped up infront of me. I quickly think of 'SKIP' and the screen vanished. With this I have a 12 hour window to think of something.
I immediately turn my attention back to the Beastkin standing infront of me. He's already in a fighting pose with that heavy looking sword. Looking an eery calm. Even an amateur like me can pretty much tell that he's a veteran. Probably been in dozens of fights and wars over the years.
If I remember correctly I have to take the initiative against a more experienced opponent. Maybe it's the opposite I'm not too sure but there's no time for hesitation.
I immediately charge at him and swing my sword. As expected he easily blocks my inexperienced swing. Using my own forward momentum he pulls me in and aims for my hands. I quickly launch myself further forward with my back foot. My sword aiming right for his chest but he halts his swinging momentum and leaps further away.
From a standing position he jumped some 10 meters without even trying. I'm glad all those movies, games and anime are useful now. This is my chance. I can't match his experience in actual combat but I can take it out of the equation altogether by simply overwhelming him.
Using all of my willpower I release all of my Ki in a brilliant dark red and black aura. For the first times he seems a bit confused but you shouldn't have given me the time to re group. At this very moment I feel like a million bucks. Like I am invincible. At full speed I charge at him before jumping right for him. I come swinging down my sword hard. As expected he jumps away again.
"I knew you would do that!" I say to him and quickly push out my left hand open palmed towards him.
I launch a Ki blast like a rocket towards him. Creating a powerful explosion that sends the whole forest shaking. Literary everything is burned within a 3 meter radius. Living behind a creator 3 meters wide.
Fuck! I think I used too much energy. I still can't control the Ki well enough. The dude I was fighting falls while smoking and burnt to a crisp. When I look around I notice everyone watching me.
Like I said, those countless hours on movies, games and anime is useful now. I remember a scene at the start of Naruto Shippuden. You can't change direction in mid air or dodge an attack. Naruto used a clone to pull himself to change direction and avoid the attack. This dude ain't that lucky.
Damn! My body feels exhausted from that one attack already. I need more experience using it in actual combat. My aura is still going strong. With this brilliant aura I walk over to the center of the scrimmage.
"I suggest you all live this place!" I warn loudly. "That includes the 5 of you still hiding in the trees!" I add as I look up straight at where I sense one of them.
He's startled when I look at him but quickly calms himself. He suddenly jumps down from the branches and lands right infront of me.
He's about my height but scrawny. He too is a wolf Beastkin like a few of the rest. The others have typical soldier physique but he seems to be specialised. Specialised for speed and agility from the way he looks.
"You're mistaken about something!" He begins. "We're not here to kill you... just yet! This was merely a test to see your 'abilities'!"
He suddenly vanishes right before my eyes. I quickly close my eyes and concentrate on sensing him. Fuck, he's behind me! I open my eyes and turn with my sword ready to swing.
There he stands some 20 meters away at the crater. How the fuck did he do that!? I guess I was right about him being fast but... if he attacked me now? I wouldn't be able to react at all!
He suddenly walls down into the crater. He kneels down and the hand of the guy I thought was dead suddenly rises to meet him. He hands him a bottle of what I recognise as a potion bottle. He puts the bottle to his mouth and drinks the blue potion. After a few moments, a blue light envelopes his whole body. The light intensifies and illuminates the whole area. It vanishes as quickly as it appeared. From it walks out the was injured wolf Beastkin and stands up like nothing happened. He turns to me with a vicious scowl on his face.
"Next time!" He warned as an aura of yellow magical energy surrounds him.
"Everyone... we have what we need! LET'S GO!!" The scrawny guy says.
In an instant they all vanished like ghosts. Already dozens of meters away and reaching my sensory radius limits.
FUCK FUCK FUCK!!! This is bad! I was so fucking naive in thinking this world was weak! I thought I would just cruise through the missions with my new found abilities! I should have known they wouldn't make it so easy!
No... calm down bro. Just chill a bit. I need to calm down. I just need to think this through. I've only been here a month. I'm already this strong so there's no need to panic. My knowledge of earth is still a huge advantage here. What I need is just time. Time to get to know more about this world. Time to train and get stronger. I'm getting used to using Ki. All I need is more time.
"Are you alright!?" A voice suddenly snaps me out of my daze. I look up to see Freya and Helena looking worried at me.
"Hmmm? Sorry I was in deep thought!" I answer.
My hand instinctively reached for my heart. I can feel it racing uncontrollably. I may appear calm on the outside but I'm freaking out. I just had a horrible realization that I'm not as strong as I initially thought. I underestimated this world. I won't be doing that again, or at least I hope not.
"Is everything packed for the journey ahead?" I ask to one of the servant girls.
"Everythink is packed and ready!" She answers.
She looks a bit horrified for some reason. I turn to Freya and Helena. They too are scared for some reason. The rest of the guards are also staring at me with panicking faces. I look down at the direction they're looking and they're looking straight at my sword.
Oh right, I forgot my aura is still raging on and I still have my sword in a fighting pose. I quickly close my eyes and put back the energy into that weird seed. Then I open my eyes and put back the sword into its scabbard.
"We should depart immediately. Those guys are just outside the limits of my sensing!" I say to Helena.
"Of course! Everyone into the carriages! We're living!" She answers before ordering the rest.
With everything prepared by the servants we get back into the carriages and return to our journey. Me on the other hand I'm on top of the front carriage. Infront is the guy taming the horses.
I cannot waste any more time. I just realized with undeniable prove that I'm not the strongest or even in the top 1 percent. Not to mention that this kingdom is considered quite weak in the eyes of the rest of the continent. If I'm this weak in a low tier kingdom just imagine if I go to a place like the Vermilion Empire.
Kyle already warned that not even a third of the missions are completed in the last 10 million years. If I am to break that duck I'm afraid I have to embrace my new self. I cannot be afraid of myself like somekind of teenage fool who's afraid of his powers.
I'm a grown ass man who's seen the ugly side of life. If I am to live longer and flourish then I have to be ruthless.
Which brings me to my third mission. This is only the beginning of my journey. I cannot waste a valuable ticket so early. That is a very amateur move. I also don't want to die which means I'm left with only one choice. The next time that notification pops up will be later today. When that happens I will not be skipping again. I will kill Helena Detalia.
