Capítulo 6: Information For Public Disclosure: Regalian Military

The Duchy of Regalia, inhabited by a population of 400,000 souls, is the center of military and political power in the eastern region (Estveine). It also serves as the main frontier of Runtallia against the Chiefdom of Norsmund, deemed by the realm to be the land of savages. In order to fend off attempts of invasion and defend the land from these adversaries, the late Lord Aldrene Walruse founded the largest armed forces in the eastern region presently known as the Regalian Standing Army. This military order permanently employs regular soldiers like men-at-arms, archers, knights and mages, boasting a sizable number ranging from 6,000–8,000 troops, roughly 2% of the entire Regalian population. Structured in twelve divisions, these soldiers are garrisoned throughout various towns and fortresses to oversee nearly all the territories of the Duke's domain, especially the capital city, to prevent barbarian incursions, banditry, goblin raids and other ill-spawn attacks, as well as to suppress possible rebellions from other provincial lords who may pose a challenge to the crown or ducal authority. Each division is made up of at least 500 troops, headed by an officer referred to as the commander-at-arms. Every division is granted one or two magic caster, which is considered a great military asset. In addition, these divisions are then split into five regiments of a hundred soldiers, each supervised by a knight acting as the captain-at-arms. A regiment is further branched into ten squadrons, a ten-man unit led by a sergeant-at-arms, who may or may not be a full-pledged knight, depending on the unit's composition.
