Capítulo 11: Wolf Mother
Enzo upon deciding to stay silent started to look around and see what weapon he can use to kill the rabbits to complete the mission and rescue the wolf.
Although he has the body of a weal five year old, his mind is that of an adult, an adult that was dubbed as the smartest man alive. So he knew a lot of ways to kill the rabbits and rescue the wolf.
He picked up a thin branch and a sturdy vine. He made someone that looked like a bow, but wasn't. It doesn't shoot arrows instead it shoots piles of pebbles. It had the same concept as a slingshot, but with the range of a shotgun in the way it throws a pouch that contains pebbles to increase the probability to hit the target and maybe hit other targets.
It was the perfect weapon for a situation like this. It didn't need aiming, a strong body or being in close range. He took a leaf, filled it with little pebbles and tied the ends of the lead loosely, loose enough to make it come undone when it is his with a force strong enough.
He climbed a tree nearby and took aim. He shot 3 times killing three rabbits. He left one alive on purpose. He climbed down the tree and took a sharpened stone and went to kill the rabbit by hand.
He didn't kill the last rabbit with his self-made weapon because he wanted the wolf to know that he helped it. He was curious about why it wasn't with its mother or the rest of its pack.
After killing the rabbit he approached the wolf cub and started caressing under its chin to make it more docile and let its guard down so Enzo could treat it.
Enzo looked around for leaves and some vines to bandage the wounds. He thought of tearing a piece of his clothes, but quickly put aside that thought as his parents would question him about it.
After treating the wolf it signaled for him to follow and started walking somewhere while the dead rabbit was still in its mouth. Enzo took the bodies of the rabbits he killed to give to the wolf's pack as a way of making friends with them.
After arriving at a place which seemed to be a wolf habitat, he was met with angry wolves surrounding him ready to attack at any time. He was about to take out the sharpened stone which he killed the rabbit with and stood in a defensive pose.
Upon seeing this the wolf cub quickly dropped the rabbit's dead body in its mouth and howled at the other wolves. Enzo saw this and felt that the wolf cub was explaining everything to them, of course he couldn't understand whatever they were saying.
After a few seconds the wolves surrounding him made way for them while they still kept glaring at him like they couldn't trust him yet. He didn't pay much attention to their looks as they didn't seem like they would attack him anytime soon and followed the wolf cub.
After walking for a while and getting all kinds of glares from the wolves, he arrived at a small cave which was guarded by two ferocious adult wolves.
He entered inside and saw a wolf laying there looking very old and malnourished. The wolf cub dropped the dead rabbit in front of it and pushed it with its nose towards the wolf's mouth.
After smelling the blood it began eating it hungrily. Enzo put the rest of the bodies on the ground and gave them to the wolf as it seemed very hungry.
After finishing the food it fell asleep very quickly and the cub left after seeing that, Enzo following it. At this point Enzo was extremely confused, he followed the cub out of curiosity thinking that its pack was dead or that it was hungry and that's why the wolf cub was out alone hunting for food.
He saw that the pack was very much alive and seemed very healthy except for that wolf in the cave. He kept thinking and the only conclusion he arrived at was that the wolf in the cave was the cub's mother, she was sick because she wasn't eating well or that it was poisoned and the antidote was in the red horned rabbit's body. As for why the little wolf was the one hunting he couldn't arrive at anything that could explain why.
The wolf cub took him somewhere secluded. It started making weird symbols on the ground with its blood. It dragged Enzo in the middle of those symbols and bit Enzo's finger and drank a drop of his blood while dropping another drop on a symbol that was in the middle. He didn't resist as he knew that wolves are not ones to bite the hand that feeds them or in this case eat the hand that feeds them as the wolf cub has already bit his finger.
"It seems like our son is very lucky. To find this kind of beast in this low-level world fragment and to even have it form a pact with him. It looks like I was right in letting him sneak out alone. But too bad he still hasn't unlocked his meridians to cultivate and will pass out from just forming the pact."
'I was the one who suggested the idea' Victor really wanted to voice his thoughts, but he knew better than to do that. "Yes Yes my wife is the best mother in all of the universes. I'm so lucky to have such a great wife."
"Glad you know that. ~~Hehehe~~ It looks like the pact had been formed and our son passed out, so let's carry him home, dear"
