Capítulo 3: Vanishing Spells

"That girl is totally my type!", Rosier exclaimed sitting and holding his feet on his four-poster.

"Oh boy, she smiled at ME!", Avery counter-attacked the former.

"Pff, I sat beside her dude!", Rosier didn't want to give up.

Riddle lay in his bed wide awake his hands on the back of his head, his friends were definitely talking about Morsia, and Rosier even had a girlfriend already. He was annoyed that they kept talking about this new girl.

Yes, she is beautiful but this was too much, the castle is full of simps. All these emotions make people weak and vulnerable, he thought to himself before turning his back to his friends.

Even though the four posters had screens for privacy, he could still the silhouettes of his friends, and he didn't quite like that for a morning view.

The Slytherin dormitory was located in the dungeons and had dim lighting and the green lamps hung with chains gave an eerie glow to the room.

Riddle changed into his robes, which were quite old and used. His parents didn't leave behind anything or he wasn't aware of it. But the old robes looked rather good as he wore them. His sleek black hair and handsome frame did the trick.

He walked out of his dormitory, into the common room that glowed in green. He looked around and the air was chaotic as the students engaged themselves in gossip and prank the first thing in the morning.

He couldn't find Morsia anywhere, he felt a little relieved for some reason.

"Ooo, Look at me, I'm a prefect now, you better behave yourselves," a slightly plump girl with curly blonde hair, was boasting around her fellow classmates.

It was Annebeth Notts, a fellow fifth-year prefect. Rosier's girlfriend, she didn't particularly have the qualification needed for a prefect but she was the best among the fifth-year Slytherin girls.

As soon as Riddle emerged from his dormitory, a group of girls surrounded him asking questions and handing him gifts but he skillfully avoided them and walked towards the exit.

"Hey, Riddle!" Notts called out as she spotted him, hurrying over to catch up.

Rosier and Notts were a couple, but their interests seemed to lie more in other people than each other.

'This is how fools end up as losers,' he thought to himself.

"Oh, hello Notts," he said, offering her a fake charming smile, and she seemed on the verge of fainting taking in his charm.

"AH, yes, are you going to the Great Hall?" she asked, twirling a strand of her hair, her tricks not escaping Riddle's notice.

'Disgusting piece of sh**,' he thought to himself.

"Oh yes," he replied, and without wasting any more time, he walked through the door, leaving the Slytherin common room behind.

"I'll come with you too!" Notts squealed, following him with boundless enthusiasm, her eyes fixated on him.

Riddle felt like she was some kind of a pest that kept bothering him, now that she's also a prefect he couldn't imagine how much time he has to spend with her.

The Great Hall was only half filled as it was still early, he walked down towards the Slytherin table sitting beside someone who was engrossed in the daily prophet.

"Um actually, I was wondering which school did you go to before getting transferred to Hogwarts?" the girl who sat in front of tom riddle questioned the person who sat beside him reading the daily prophet.

It was Morsia, much to Riddle's surprise. He flinched once again as he looked at her. He didn't want to look at her for more than a second.

"Oh well, I went to St.George's Institute in Liverpool," Morsia replied smiling widely which made her dimples prominent.

She carefully folded the daily prophet as she grabbed her fork and knife tugging into the pumpkin pie.

"Really?, I never heard of a wizarding school of such name," the girl in front wondered aloud her voice sounding genuine.

"Well, it's a normal school -- Uh I mean a muggle school," she mentioned casually as she returned to eating her pumpkin pie.

Riddle spat his food, the same reaction from every student who were listening to the conversation.

Before the girl could ask further, Professor slughorn - the head of house for slytherin, trudged his way towards the slytherin table holding the time-table sheets for the fifth years now.

The Great Hall was overflowing with students and professors. It was a lively scene, just as they were handed their time tables, the fifth years frowned.

"Holy cow, we've got Dumbledore for the first hour!" Rosier exclaimed as he read the sheet.

"It's double transfiguration this morning," Avery choked on his pumpkin pie.

Morsia looked around them innocently, as she didn't have any idea about what they were talking about.

As for Riddle, he was excited to learn new things this new year, anything is wonderful as long as it's Hogwarts and not Ms.Cole's Orphanage.

The Slytherin fifth years made their way towards their transfiguration class, they shared their hour with Ravenclaws as they walked along with them.

Everyone took their seat, with Slytherin on one side and Ravenclaw on the other, it wasn't a rule but the students liked to keep it within their houses.

Knowing Morsia was studying in a muggle school or simply jealous of her, the Slytherin girls led by Annebeth, didn't give her a seat.

Morsia looked around, she didn't droop her face, she was poised and composed as ever. She casually walked upfront and sat beside a Ravenclaw in the front seat.

Everyone looked her shocked, even the Ravenclaws started murmuring. Morsia looked toward her side and smiled at a Ravenclaw girl who had curly black hair and plump lips, she turned away her face blushing.

The murmur was growing as Riddle finally had to look toward Morsia, sitting with the Ravenclaws. He was impressed, she is bravely going against her fellow Slytherins whom she have to face when she comes back to the dorm.

There was silence all of sudden that engulfed the room, It was the transfiguration professor, Dumbledore emerged out of his room, looking more majestic than ever his black beard flowed just above his abdomen, and his pointed maroon hat and matching robes gave off the real feeling of a wizard.

"what's cooking?" he asked looking through his half-moon spectacles eyeing every students with his piercing blue eyes.

No one spoke a word and Prof. Dumbledore swayed his way through the classroom.

His gaze fell upon Morsia who sat beside Ravenclaws Isolated from fellow Slytherins.

"Interesting," he remarked at her looking carefully.

"We've got a new student, why don't we start with a little introduction," Dumbledore smiled softly at Morsia who returned his gesture.

"Well, I'm Albus Dumbledore, your transfiguration teacher"

"I may seem old but I'm just seventy," he shook his head.

There was a calm vibe that filled the classroom contrary to the previous one.

"Now, In today's class, We're gonna learn about some advanced transfiguration --Vanishing Objects," He said calmly to the entirety of the room, his voice booming to everyone.

"It is a very complicated and powerful magic, you'll start by learning wand moves and try vanishing small objects for the starter", saying this dumbledor handed out some sheets that had wand movements printed on them.

"This is some cheat sheet, I provide for you, since you may forget what I teach you in the classroom", he raised his eyebrows looking around the room.

As everyone got their sheets, he went back to his original position near his table.

"What do you know about the vanishing spell?" he asked the class.

Riddle immediately raised his hand, to which dumbledor nodded.

"Evanesco - is the spell for vanishing objects, If practiced with perfection we can even vanish humans and bigger objects," Riddle finished his tone very cool and casual, he didn't seem like he's throwing up what he knew from books rather it was as if he knew it without having to refer anything.

"Very well, Tom. You never cease to impress me," Dumbledore said now he turned his face toward the Ravenclaw benches and his eyes fell upon Morsia.

Now everyone's eyes were prying Morsia, as she seem to sleep while sitting straight with her eyes closed. The Ravenclaw girl beside her nudged her to wake up.

All the while, She didn't startle, she looked around the class who was looking at her and then toward prof. Dumbledor who was looking curiously at her.

"Yes?" she asked the general audience unsure of who to drop it against.

"Very well, Ms. Ravenwood, What do you know about vanishing spells?" Dumbledore asked her still his curiosity piqued.

"Well, I don't know anything about them", Morsia replied.

There was a roar of laughter from both Ravenclaw and Slytherins. Dumbledore silently looked around the class his brows raised. The class fell silent.

"But I will learn it through this class hopefully," she continued as if she hadn't been interrupted by mocking laughter.

Dumbledore smiled at her and nodded, and swayed back to his original position continuing his class.
