Capítulo 365: 4. My Love, My Life.

I stood in awe, unable to believe my eyes. Before me was our own private paradise, a pristine beach framed by soft, golden sand. The sound of waves crashing against the shore filled my ears, as I ran along the water's edge with Damon close behind. The water was warm and inviting, lapping at my toes with each step. As I turned to face Damon, he closed the distance between us, and our bodies collided in a passionate embrace.

Our lips met in a fiery kiss, and we tumbled onto the soft, warm sand, lost in the moment. The sensation of our bodies intertwined was electric, igniting a desire like never before. At that exact moment, a sense of relief washed over me, and I felt like all the pain and hardships I had endured were finally worth it.

The intense connection I felt with my significant other was almost palpable, and it seemed like we were the only two people in the world. The fully furnished house we were in had luxurious rooms decorated with intricate details and expensive furniture.

The sheer opulence of the place was a sight to behold, but it was the allure of the sandy beach that captivated me the most. The crystal clear water and the sound of the waves crashing against the shore were invigorating, and I could have spent hours basking in the sun and enjoying the scenery.

As I walked through the woods, the dappled sunlight filtered through the trees, casting a warm glow on everything around me. Suddenly, my love appeared out of nowhere, and he surprised me by pressing me against the rough trunk of a tree. The tree bark was rough against my skin, but the sensation was exhilarating.

I could feel his breath on my neck as he whispered sweet nothings and then a little rougher stuff, which made my pussy start to want some intense heat treatment. His voice whispering dangerously into my ear was something that made my soul sing, my little bitch side come out, and I knew that I was exactly where I was meant to be.

Other times, if I climbed a tree, he would pursue me, and we would find ourselves fucking furiously among the branches. That was quite a new place to fuck for us. We had a whole forest or jungle to be dedicated to. We really tried our best. I told Damon, after we had had a very intense time, I was lying on his chest, fucked to bits, "Do you know what, Damon, we will never find this forest dedicated enough as rain will rinse our scents away?"

Damon snorted softly; he murmured to me, "I know, baby, that's why we have to come here and fuck this island wholly before the next rain rinses it all off."

It felt as if we were meant for each other, our passion fueled by the almost two-year separation we had endured. We didn't speak of past troubles or previous relationships here. It was just the two of us in this secluded haven, entirely consumed by our deep bond. I knew this happiness was transient, but it didn't matter. These stolen moments made life worthwhile and reminded me to cherish love.

My love for Damon was reignited, burning as fiercely as it did the first time we met. But this time, it was a love that ran even more profoundly, forged by the shared experiences we had weathered together. We were united, and this place would forever hold the memories of our joyous times. It would forever remain a sanctuary for just the two of us, untouched by anyone else.

My heat lasted for eight weeks, during which time we were completely engulfed in the beauty of the Azores. Damon promised that even after we left, he would occasionally whisk me away to our own paradise for a week or two of passionate encounters.

My lust burned brightly, and Damon matched it with equal enthusiasm. In his presence, my vampire side was kept in check, leaving me more alive than ever. He filled me with a thick, intense cream unlike anything I had ever experienced. We even fucked on the plane during our journey back, and my soul sang with pure bliss.

Deep down, I knew that the return to our everyday lives was inevitable, but I hadn't anticipated the steep price we would have to pay for those eight weeks of ecstasy. However, every minute spent in that paradise was worth it—every single one.

We arrived back in Iowa, greeted by the vibrant greenery and the distant sound of chirping birds. The following day, the soft sheets brushed against my skin as I woke up. I was fully velveted at some point. I could still feel slight nausea and photophobia, which comes when my body breaks down velvet all wrong.

Damon had tried to improve his formula, but I, being unique enough, it seemed my body took the challenge and continued to break down velvet, so I got a hangover for myself. I glanced at the nightstand, where Damon's phone and wallet lay undisturbed, clearly indicating that another ordinary day had begun. After steadying myself with a refreshing shower, I dressed and made my way downstairs in search of breakfast.

To my surprise, Bran was already there, the smell of freshly brewed coffee filling the air. There was no one else here. Bran seemed to be in a good mood, but he was wearing a suit and tie, meaning he was going somewhere, too.

He greeted me with a warm smile, saying, "Good morning, Mimi. I have another PR job lined up for you. There's a troubled bakery that could use your expertise. They are short-staffed, and the founder of this bakery is a friend of mine. I have to attend to matters in Washington, so I was wondering if you could help them out. Will it take two months? Perhaps less, considering your capabilities. They have had some misfortune, and recently, four of their main bakers got pregnant and are now on maternity leave. He would hate to have closed the doors because of too few workers. He is very particular about who he takes working for him. He is very skilled in chocolate works, so he could probably teach you too. Your organization is in good hands with Adam and Magnum, and Charles has also been involved."

"Sounds good," I replied, feeling satisfied that things were progressing smoothly. "I'll head down there and see what I can do. I could take then PR gigs from veterinary clinics, as I have a license now, or in zoos. Being a veterinarian has its perks, after all."

Bran nodded and handed me a folder containing all the necessary details about the gig and the bakery. I had no objections, with nothing better to do and having just experienced a satisfying two-month vacation. Of course, if I could improve my chocolate work, it would be all the better. Adam was nowhere to be seen, but I trusted that he was taking care of his responsibilities. The job was in Colorado, requiring me to make the drive up there. If Adam was occupied with the flea job, that was fine; my phone hadn't received any urgent requests, indicating that everything was under control.

Arriving at the bakery, I was met with a bustling atmosphere and the enticing aroma of freshly baked goods. Once a thriving establishment with a staff of 15, it now operated with only six employees, including the payroll clerk and the secretary.

The bakery was owned by a tall, thin man who reminded me of a combination of Guy Henry and Patrick Swayze. He was an excellent chocolatier but not knowledgeable in baking bread or rolls. This was a problem because customers wanted fresh loaves of bread every morning. As a result, I took charge and ran the entire bakery for two long months. It was challenging work, but I was determined not to disappoint anyone.

It was only after eight weeks that I finally received replacements. Despite the demanding nature of the job, it allowed me to showcase my skills and take pride in my accomplishments. I also learned much about chocolate work since the owner was always willing to teach me whenever I had some free time. My days were busy, and I often did some chocolate work after closing time since the owner had no family to speak of.

One day, I shared with the owner about my organization, my experiences, and my wolf, Mimosa. At first, he was scared of me, but eventually, he got to know Mimosa, and she won everyone's hearts. The owner, whose name was Owen, became determined to bring those who experimented on Mimosa to justice. He called his friends and became an ally for my cause.

His father, a prestigious professor at Harvard Medical School, even came to visit one day. We discussed Mimosa, and he offered his expertise, studying Mimosa very thoroughly. He wanted to help us find the perfect food for her, so I gave him the contact for my wolf nutrition team. He also promised to call Colin, another contact of mine, to see where he could offer his medical expertise.

I couldn't help but marvel at how unexpected outcomes often accompanied Bran's assignments. By passing through this bakery, I made many new contacts and spread the word about our cause. It was amazing how my experiences and my wolf, Mimosa, could bring people together and create new allies.

During my time working at the bakery, I sent a message to Adam, who happened once again to be a loyal follower of Bran, the Marrok. Adam informed me that he was dealing with a werewolf crisis assigned to him by Bran, which didn't surprise me, given his unwavering loyalty to Bran. Although I respected Bran for his position as the Marrok, I had personally witnessed Adam's devotion to Bran, even when faced with opposition from Samuel or Charles.

After the conversation with Adam, I made my way back to the Colorado house, feeling exhausted from a long day of work. As soon as I entered the house, I collapsed onto the couch, desperate for a moment of respite. My eyes closed involuntarily, and I slowly drifted off to sleep. However, my phone sat on the coffee table, silently reminding me of its potential to disrupt my much-needed rest. Despite my exhaustion, I couldn't help but be aware of the possibility of being interrupted. I fell asleep and woke up to the fucking phone ringing.
