Capítulo 20: Status?

As the lot ventured more and more inside The Celestial Academy, the greater their amazement became. The buildings that made up the academy were made from materials that resonated the color of the cosmos.

It was as if space itself formed into bricks just to build the academy. Wherever one looks, statues of prominent individuals can be seen on display. Not one single person dared to move outlandishly as they walked the sacred grounds of the academy as the fear of standing out and gaining the attention of The Stellar 12's members was raging within them.

As they approached the Reception Hall, familiar faces greeted them. Meyer and his students were also entering the hall when their eyes locked with each other. Z was ready to use his glib tongue once again, but to his surprise, they just went inside without saying anything.

'Hmm? Is it because we are at the headquarters of The Celestial Academy? Just how much of a deterrence is this place?' Z wondered.

When they got inside, a beautiful hall filled with chairs facing the stage welcomed them. It had a serious atmosphere that sent chills to the hearts of Z's classmates. Everyone was sitting quietly, not daring to make any sudden moves which made Z even more fascinated.

He then remembered the words of Anne, 'Z, in the world outside, your demeanor is one of great value. Do not make the mistake of being vulgar in front of those mighty powers as it would only take you coughing for them to ostracize you.'

With that in mind, he assumed the posture and demeanor that Anne carved into his very being. His loose attitude that he equipped for this entire time was gone as he changed his manners like gears of a watch.

Anshth could not help but slightly nod after seeing Z take things seriously. After a while, everyone suddenly stood up as 12 individuals walked inside the hall. They came from the 12 major races of the world and all had distinct aura's.

Some of them looked kind while the others did not even bother to veil their condescension, but they all had one thing in common, power.

Z could not help but remember Aheli after seeing the lot, 'My masters were not lying, talents do populate the world.'

The twelve sets of eyes looked at every inch of every corner of the room to scan everyone's faces. All of them, without fail stopped after seeing Z. Their eyes locked unto him like he was a speck of black dot in a white canvas.

"My, my, my… Here I thought I am aware of the forces of the world, but who is this gentleman from The South Celestial Academy?" A man with lavish clothes and short purple hair asked with a complicated smile while staring at Z with his green eyes.

Anshth desperately wanted to tell Z what to say, but if he communicated with Z through Arcane, it would be considered disrespectful, and he was not above taking the punishment.

"I am Z, and you are?" Z replied with cold eyes, causing everyone to gasp. They all stared at Z like he was a ghost which made him confused.

"Mwahahahahahaha! Unbelievable! To think, there is someone who does not know who I am!" The man said with a laugh full of anger.

"Should I?" Z continued, making some of the 12, chuckle.

The man could not even reply to Z as a group of people wearing white uniforms of The Celestial Academy surrounded Z. "Young Master Byron, forgive us for being blind. Let us escort this peasant out."

"Of course. I will be benevolent and ignore this transgression," Byron said with a proud smile. 'Just wait, peasant. You will die,' is what he thought instead.

As the troops escorted him out, everyone inside clapped aside from Lea, Ashe, and Aheli. This was, of course, noticed by Byron, but after realizing who they were, he decided not to do anything about it.

Meanwhile, Z did not mind what was happening at all, as another thought filled his mind entirely. A wide shock can be seen on his face which everyone interpreted as him disbelieving the situation, but the truth is, it was because of one of the ladies among the 12 individuals.

She gracefully stood there with her long white dress. She had long silver hair and azure eyes that were filled with endless mysteries. In a way, she resembled Ashe, but unlike the latter, she seemed to resonate with the world.

'Is she from the same race as Lady Emilia? A Primordian?' Z thought, as this was the only reason he could come up with as to why she looked similar to his late master.

The lady, of course, noticed that Z was staring at her which, consequently, caught her interest. Her gentle eyes locked unto him as well, widening ever so slightly after she felt a familiar force from Z.

The guards immediately stopped after seeing her walk toward Z. No words were exchanged between the two, but the meaning behind their gazes were enough for the lady to take action, "I will attest for his status. Release him."

"Lady Thea!" Byron exclaimed. His eyes were full of shock and anger as he could not believe why Thea saved the man.

Thea, however, did not bother responding to him. Z ignored Byron as well as he nonchalantly walked back to his table while transmitting an Arcane message to Thea.

(11pm. Eastern Lake. Meet me.) Thea conveyed.

Noticing their transmitting of messages made everyone wonder what they talked about, but there was no way for them to know. Byron could only stand there in anger and disbelief over everyone's collective decision to ignore him.

'Aaaaaaa!' he screamed in his thoughts. He tried his best to maintain an outward calm, but deep inside, he can no longer maintain his sanity.

The subtle changes in Byron's manners did not escape the eyes of Z which made the latter wonder, 'How is it that such miniscule actions trigger him that much? What is the use of power if mere questions to his authority breaks him?'
