Daphne woke up the next morning with her stomach doing flying somersaults and her guts rearranging inside her body. She felt a wave of nausea creep from her stomach before rising to her throat. Unable to tamper it down, she bolted from the bed and dashed straight to the en-suite bathroom.
To hell with propriety and dressing up! The sheets fell from her body as she ran with no care, hunched over the toilet seat as she threw everything she had for dinner out into the bowl.
Wave after wave, Daphne emptied the contents of her stomach, retching until she began to dry heave nothing but acid out. Her mouth tasted bitter and sour, and the air smelled foul. However, she was much too tired to care.
She sank to the ground, her arms and legs trembling from a mixture of soreness from last night's strenuous activities and having used so much energy to drive the nausea away.
