Capítulo 10: Adventurers' Pub

After completing a light workout, Sucura savored the fresh fruits he had purchased the day before. Once he had finished his meal, he indulged in a long, soothing bath. Refreshed and invigorated, he changed into his clothes and caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror. Studying his well-worn adventurer's attire, he mused aloud, "It's time for some new clothes."

Suddenly, his stomach let out a distinct grumble, voicing its protest.

'And I need to eat first. I forgot to have a substantial meal last night since my mind was so mentally exhausted,' he realized.

Descending the staircase, Sucura approached the sophisticated lady stationed behind the counter and inquired with utmost politeness, "Excuse me, could you kindly direct me to a location where I may promptly dispatch my letters?"

Within a few moments, Sucura presented her with a meticulously sealed envelope, accompanied by a pouch brimming with gleaming gold coins.

Upon leaving the Golden Peacock Inn, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was being watched. Dismissing the sensation, Sucura casually strolled along, tossing a few rocks to the side as he made his way to the Adventurers' Pub.

The Adventurers' Pub in this enchanted realm teemed with life and exuded an infectious vibrancy.

As Sucura entered, he was immediately enveloped by the rich aroma of hearty meals, the smoky scent of a roaring fireplace, and the sweet fragrance of exotic spices imported from distant lands.

The lively atmosphere was punctuated by boisterous laughter and animated discussions about recent exploits and news. Although a few patrons glanced in Sucura's direction, their attention quickly returned to their conversations, allowing him to blend seamlessly into the bustling crowd.

The walls of the pub were adorned with an eclectic mix of memorabilia, from tattered maps and ancient weapons to mystical artifacts and the mounted heads of fearsome creatures.

As he approached the elegant receptionist, he ordered stewed mutton and serpent kiss—a light beer, as he felt that ordering juice or something similar might attract unwanted attention.

Sucura cast a furtive glance at the top of her head.

"Please take a seat at the vacant table, and we'll bring your order to you," the receptionist said with a warm smile.

Sucura reminded himself not to cross the receptionist. Offering a subtle nod of acknowledgment, he made his way to the empty table.

The Guildmaster had a daughter who suffered from a rare ailment known as Berryl Disease. This affliction caused the victim to lose consciousness, their skin to turn a sickly green hue, and produce yellow pus. The skin would also slough off when touched. No known treatment existed for this condition, except for the consumption of Chrysanthemum.

The Chrysanthemum, renowned for their scarcity and evasiveness, stood as some of the most coveted flora within the realm. Legend has it that these enigmatic blossoms could primarily be discovered hidden in the shadowy recesses of the Accursed Forest, an area veiled in intrigue and peril.

Contrary to their name, Chrysanthemum were neither fragile nor harmless. Rather, they were horrifying, predatory beings, highly skilled in the art of ambushing their unsuspecting prey with an uncanny ability to pounce. In addition, they boasted a formidable array of toxins, making them a force to be reckoned with. These astute plants were known for their extraordinary vigilance, carefully evaluating their adversaries with razor-sharp discernment. Should they detect an overwhelming threat, they would not hesitate to make a strategic retreat.

In the game, the Chrysanthemum possesses the remarkable ability to cleanse characters debuff ailments.

"Here's your order: Stewed mutton and Serpent's Kiss," announced a serving maid.

Sucura responded calmly, a faint smile gracing his lips. "Thank you."

The maid caught a glimpse of his smile beneath his half-mask, offered a slight bow, and then departed.

'I must learn Mind Blank firsthand before approaching the Guildmaster, who possesses an item known as Angel's Quill,' Sucura contemplated.

Sucura savored the rich aroma wafting from the dish. He picked up his spoon with a steady hand, carefully scooping up a generous portion of the tender mutton and hearty vegetables.

As he raised the spoon to his lips, his eyes remained tranquil, revealing no signs of haste or impatience. He took a slow, deliberate bite, allowing the flavors to meld on his tongue before swallowing contentedly. The savory broth, infused with fragrant herbs, seemed to warm him from within, causing his shoulders to relax ever so slightly.

"This is delicious," he remarked as he sipped his Serpent's Kiss beer.

His thoughts drifted to the previous day. 'There's something peculiar about this world. Firstly, Vyn as if enigmatic, someone I can't quite put into words. And Shaine, who betrayed Sucura in the game, seems different in the castle. She's selfish, but there's more to it. Am I really in Netorare Game?'

With a dismissive air, Sucura mused, 'Hmmm… Who cares?… Why should I concern myself with the emotions of others? These strangers hold no significance to me; even if they were to perish before my eyes, I would remain unmoved. I am no hero, nor am I a saint. If I choose to help them, I'll do it moderately, that it can't bite me back. My compassion is reserved solely for those who are dear to me. If I were offered the chance to return to my own world at the cost of watching this one burn, I would accept without a moment's hesitation.'

As Sucura pondered other matters, he thought, 'The Queerly Word of Catastrophe, lies imprisoned within the depths of the bottomless pit in the heart of the Accursed Forest. My plan quite simple free the entity and, in exchange, secure its assistance in transporting me back to my own world. The last memory I have before finding myself in the Palace of Daichetus is a blinding flash of brilliant light.'

'Why would I possess knowledge of various events without having experienced them myself? The answer is quite simple: my friend harbors a strong aversion to spoilers, which inadvertently leads to my awareness of these occurrences.'
