Capítulo 68: The Missing Witness

Azazel brought Esmeralda into the courtroom. Because of Azazel's magic, Esmeralda's appearance remained clean and neat even though she had become a straw doll for almost two weeks.

Esmeralda bowed her head so she wouldn't have to look at Roxana or Rosaline because both sisters were equally creepy to her.

Roxana was willing to do anything to get Esmeralda to testify on her behalf, even if she had to kidnap and lock her up. At the same time, Rosaline had so many supporters who were willing to destroy those who stood in her way.

In the end, Esmeralda would be at a disadvantage if she supported either of them. However, she has no choice but to follow the wishes of the more horrifying sister.

"Mrs. Mistral, I hope you don't mind being a witness in this trial." Earl Knox's voice made Esmeralda flinch.

When she raised her head, her body trembled slightly as she stared into Earl Knox's eyes that held an abomination behind their gentle gaze.
