Eve's gaze shifted toward the nearby rocky beach.
The sand beneath her feet was dark, not the usual golden hue. The waves lazily rolled onto the shore, their rhythmic sounds filling the air. Max had been right; the sight of the tranquil sea immediately soothed her emotions.
The beach stretched out with scattered rocks and pebbles, worn smooth by the persistent caress of the tide. The dark sands felt cool beneath Eve's touch as she walked closer to the water's edge. Seagulls circled overhead, their calls blending with the soft lull of the waves.
Next to her, Max was silently playing with the sand as he held her hand. Dressed in a white shirt, the man looked different from his usual calm yet authoritative clothing. He looked more relaxed, more handsome.
The fact that he could stay under the sun even when it was noon was not a secret. Max told her that it was not comfortable, but he could handle it.
"This place is good…" Eve smiled.
