Capítulo 21: CHAPTER 21 : ALCRYAN CAMP 2

There's something about this liquid that intrigues me. I can't help but wonder about its secrets and potential. Just imagining all the possibilities that might unfold if I could unravel its mysteries fills me with immense excitement.

And I have a feeling that this will require multiple experiments to get started with, but unfortunately...the current supply just won't cut it. I mean, even if I were to completely deplete Mr Fisher's entire stock, which consists of approximately five tubes, it still wouldn't be enough.

This is also the main reason why I decided to stay here with these alcryans until now. And my wait is finally coming to an end, as tomorrow, we are going back to alcrya.

*Knock knock*

I quickly threw the tube in my ring at the sound of a knock on my door and went to open it.

"Yo," Asher stood in front of me as I opened the door.

"I'm busy right now, come again later," I said. however, just as I was about to shut the door, he swiftly slipped through the narrow opening between my arms. Without a second thought, he barged into the room and made himself at home on my bed with his shoes on, as if he owned the place.

I shut the door with a surprising lack of reaction, almost as if it had become a mundane routine, which it had, considering this was not the first instance of him doing so during my week-long stay in this encampment.

My silvery pupils stared intently at him as I sat on the wooded chair beside the bed.

Asher stared back with his brownish pupils, imitating my gaze and we had a little staring contest for a full five minutes until...he blinked.

"Fuck you, bro! Can't I just come and see you?" he yelled, rubbing his eyes in frustration.

"Not when I'm busy," I replied in the same annoying tone.

"Whatever, I just wanted to ask...what are we gonna do with that bastard Fisher?" he suddenly asked, his voice trailing off into a mere whisper.

"What of him?" I said, blinking my eyes in surprise, as a realization dawned on me - perhaps I had underestimated Asher's intellect.

"Don't act like you don't know! The bastard literally sent us to our deaths for real. It was just my good luck that the old you was stupid, otherwise I-I could have died as well," he shivered, which I could tell was fake.

"If you already know that I'm not John, then why are you even asking me that?" I said, letting out a sigh, catching the small clue in his words.

"huh? Aren't you a dicathen spy? If you want to stay in the alcryan military, then don't you think he might become a hurdle for you later?" he asked, confusion evident in his face, as he sank deeper into my bed.

I shook my head at his words and replied, "He is just an insect I can kill anytime I want. And if we are talking about hurdles, The biggest one should be you, as you already know I'm not an alcryan resident."

"heh! You know that I won't do that, otherwise whoever is trying to kill us will get a good excuse to get rid of both of us legally!" he yelled.

"Why? Aren't you loyal to alcrya?" I asked him, with a grin.

My words left him motionless, as if time had frozen.

Suddenly, he brought a finger to his chin, lost in contemplation.

"Hmm...it's easy. I don't feel any entitlement to alcrya, you can also say that I.....hate it to some extent." He uttered with a gloomy expression, his tone slightly husky.

I looked at him in surprise, as it was the first time I'd seen him like this.

The room fell into silence for a while as the atmosphere became a little awkward.

"I wanted to ask though, are you... really a dicathen spy?" Asher asked, breaking the silence after a couple of minutes, returning to his usual self.

"Oh, do you doubt that?" I asked him curiously.

He rolled his eyes at my words, "Bro, it's literally so obvious. I've never heard of a camouflage technique like yours even in alcrya. If dicathen was advanced enough to make THIS, we would have been discovered by them long ago."

I nodded, agreeing with him.

"But it still doesn't change the fact that I'm from dicathen," I said, shaking my head.

"Then, ARE YOU loyal to dicathen?" He inquired with a broad grin that stretched from one ear to the other, attempting to mimic the same one I had earlier.

Looking at him, A smirk formed on my face as I said. "I'm only loyal to myself."

"Huh! If you don't work for dicathen then...what is your purpose in coming here?" Asher asked, blinking his eyes a couple of times in confusion.

I Put a finger on my chin, pretending to ponder on his question.

As I pondered for a brief moment, I squinted at Asher with narrowed eyes. Noticing this, He caught on to my inquisitive expression and mirrored my intensity, eagerly anticipating my response.

"Who knows," I said, as Despite my best efforts, a faint giggle managed to escape from the edges of my mouth.

"Huh?" In mere moments, Asher's face transformed from surprise to anger, and finally to frustration.
