Alicia had to get all dolled up and put on the outfit they handed to her before she could step out on stage.
In the dressing room, the makeup artist had just finished smoothing foundation onto Alicia's face and started focusing on her eyes.
The artist, with a makeup brush in hand, said, "You're so young and incredibly pretty. Next to those old men, you might not seem as credible. Should I try to make you look a bit older with the makeup?"
It was almost as if she was hinting that Alicia was just a pretty face.
Alicia, catching the subtle hint, just smiled knowingly and replied, "No need, just keep it simple. In our job, it's our brains that count, not how we look."
So, the makeup artist just added a coat of mascara and a smudge of lipstick. Alicia was set to go on stage. Usually, she dressed in simple, stylish clothes. Today, to fit the show's theme, she was in a bright, sleeveless chiffon dress that showed off her delicate collarbone and slim arms.
