Capítulo 135: One Night's Comfort

Alicia held onto Louis's arm, careful not to touch his hurt hand as they left the scene.

Owen stood there, totally surprised. Just a few seconds earlier, Louis had been this threatening presence, his face cold as a winter's night. But the second Alicia showed up, his scary vibe disappeared like fog in the sunlight.

Everyone has a perfect match, the assistant thought. He looked at Sauron lying on the floor, barely able to breathe, and made an awkward sorry-face. "Didn't mean to cause a scene, detective," he said to Owen.

Owen just laughed it off, "Don't worry about it. That jerk got what he deserved."

"I'm heading out. We'll chat later."

"Sounds good."

As the assistant was about to leave, Owen felt the need to make one last comment. "Louis is one tough cookie. Neither of us could get through to him."

The assistant offered a half-smile. "Maybe it's a classic example of gentle beating strong. Only the one he loves can stop him."
