Capítulo 78: Around Silvermoon

Lireesa stopped her footsteps after hearing their question and the reason why she wanted to leave was to avoid talking with these diplomats. Now that they had emphasized her name, she couldn't dodge no matter what.

The previous and current Lireesa were never interested in diplomacy and the war of words. For them there was only one truth; if one arrow wasn't enough then two—problems solved.

"Whether the elves are at war or what they're doing at the moment, why are our excellencies, humans, and dwarfs having concerns?" Lireesa asked directly and stared at the two. Although these two had experienced different scenes and met high-level people, encountering Lireesa was very distinct.

Her surroundings immediately felt colder and being watched by these freezing sapphire eyes wasn't a good one. As a human in her past life, she knew what they were planning. One was to put pressure on the elves as a warning and the other was to have diplomatic leverage.

The dwarf calmed himself and said, "We're worried your act will spread chaos and affect our homeland. Nobody wants the trolls to mess around our kingdom."

"Do you think we want it then?" Her sharp voice cut in.

"Of course not, your ladyship." The human grasped the dwarf's shoulder and answered. "At least I believe Quel'Thalas should give an explanation to its allies."

"I will say once again; Quel'Thalas is not your vassals, nor a state that must listen to others. Whatever we do should not raise objections from our neighbor." Lireesa's eyes turned colder as she spoke. "To be honest, although it's my personal opinion, we're not even allies. Except for the Empire of Arathor, the remnants shouldn't dictate what we do."

Frankly, Lireesa was exhausted from the journey and had to debate with the two diplomats. Everything she said should actually be said by the royal family member instead. She knew the old fox couple was playing blind and taking advantage of her; moreover, Lireesa also disliked humans and she didn't mind making a move here.

The nobles there were worse than in Quel'Thalas, completely depraved and dishonoring their ancestor. Lireesa could guess if there weren't an orc invasion, the seven kingdoms would surely collapse by itself and Quel'Thalas would survive longer. But there was 'no if' in real life—what happened would happen.

"In addition, I will clarify to clear misunderstanding; Quel'Thalas is not at war with trolls currently. In fact, it is only my Windrunner house who fought against them recently to expel them from our border." Lireesa paused making sure they digested her words. "I order them in the name of retaliation to avenge our fallen citizens including my husband Verath Windrunner who was murdered during the troll's sudden despicable assasination."

The two diplomats were confused but they understood the expedition units were solely from the Windrunner family. The infamous ranger family was well-known for their fierceness across the seven kingdoms when they overthrew the condescending ideas of elves as weak if not for the support of arcane sorcery. They proved without mages they were still formidable. If Sunstrider was the number one, then Windrunner followed up the list.

When both the human and the dwarf realized the woman in front had lost her husband, they felt bad and they couldn't argue any longer. From moral grounds, if one were to prevent her from getting revenge, it appeared too imprudent.

They even regretted asking Lireesa in the first place, worried about her mental state. What if she burst out and injured them out of rage? Her behavior showed she hadn't finished venting her anger. They didn't come here to replace the Trolls. Not mentioning their power leverage was gone

"Our condolences, milady. We don't know this occurs to your ladyship. Such horrendous acts must not go unpunished!" Both bowed and expressed agreement; their attitude shifted so suddenly as if changing clothes fast was mediocre.

Stunned as her eyes wandered between the two, Lireesa couldn't even find faults and swore diplomats were indeed full-time actors. Alleria's surprise was obvious with her mouth covered by hands and gasping air. It was already a perfect score for her not to choke since the first time she saw shamelessness in higher ranks outside.

"I taught my daughter since her childhood that we must solve our own business before pointing at others." Lireesa's face became nonchalant and peaceful. She was indeed alluring when her temperament was soothing, waning the diplomats' concentration for a few moments. It was her strong bloodthirsty aura which overshadowed her beauty.

"Besides whatever our Quel'Thalas does, doesn't need the permission of others. Our kingdom's sovereignty doesn't require outsiders to discuss. That'll be it. Now, excuse me your excellencies." Lireesa spoke and gestured to exit without violating etiquette. Glancing at the king and queen, she bowed her head and left afterward.

The king and queen had smiles on their face as they watched the two diplomats look at one another. No one was offended by Lireesa's words and they regarded her as expressing dissatisfaction for her pursuit of vengeance.

Since the Ranger-General of Quel'Thalas lost her loved one, Windrunners' actions were eligible and legitimate. If the same occurred inside their kingdom, there would be no difference. Of course, her warnings to the two of them weren't ignored.

"It seems we had cleared our doubts here. I'll be taking my leave shortly and report back to my king. Your majesty." The human said first and saluted to leave soon.

"It's a pleasure meeting you, your majesty. We hope you don't get offended by our inquiry. Because our king is worried about the chaos near our border, I'm ordered to ask for your grace." The dwarf smiled cheekily. The king also returned the smile. Everyone here was a performer each tuning their rhythm.

After everyone left, the queen asked King Anasterian worried. "Will Lady Lireesa mind with our conduct?"

The king shook his head and replied, "Fear not. She wasn't the type to hold grudges. It's just a deal between us…Now, forget about these and spend time for ourselves, my dear Queen." The king stood up gently grasping her hand and led the path.

The whole conversation could be regarded as staged because the human and dwarf knew the king could stop Lireesa's madness if he desired to. And their goals had already been expressed when they visited Silvermoon City as diplomats.

For King Anasterian, allowing Lireesa to act on her own was based on his agenda. One if she succeeded Lireesa owed a favor to this king who would use it wisely for his heir prince. Two, even if the expedition failed, the king didn't lose anything as he also could use this opportunity to suppress the rising Windrunner's prestige. Either way, he got everything; this was also the reason although the king persuaded Lireesa otherwise, he never really stopped.

Of course, Lireesa had figured out what the old man on the throne was planning, but she never was dissatisfied. It was merely using each other.

Although the royal castle was captivating, the solemn atmosphere caused discomfort. Lireesa brought Alleria out quickly and the two strolled around the Silvermoon City. Different from rural areas, numerous carriages were seen on the streets and crowds of people marched toward their goals. The busiest place on Azeroth, Lireesa guessed.

Alleria was flabbergasted since this sight brought huge pressure. She had never seen so many elves outside. Lireesa on the other hand merely had a slight interest in her eyes. She had seen many times in her previous life she got bored. However, seeing many beautiful elves at once still had a stunning effect.

Two more days remained before Lireesa's convoy arrived at Silvermoon. She wondered if Sylvanas and Vereesa would whine when they knew their mother was already relaxing while they were struggling during the travel.

Before she roamed around the city, Lireesa took Alleria to a luxurious hotel, aimed at the nobility classes. She registered their names and paid a deposit for a room with all features involved, prepared for the rest of her daughters. It cost 30 gold per day. In modern conversion, it roughly equaled $15,000. In a rich circle, if Lireesa never experienced herself, she would never discover the costly expenditure.

The room had beds, an indoor pool, a shower, and a bathtub exactly like what 5 stars previous life hotel would have. Before Alleria sprung onto the bed, Lireesa held her by the robe and asked to wash.

Both mother and daughter entered the warm bathtub together to loosen the tightened strings. They exhaled and groaned in satisfaction. Lireesa was now somewhat immune to her daughter's beauty from becoming stupid and petrified. Apart from admiring her, nothing more could be done. She was really jealous of her daughter's future soulmate.

After taking a nap on the bed for several hours, night arrived. Lireesa and Alleria were all refreshed and their moods brightened. They decided to go out and asked the maid to buy clothes. The ranger's outfit wasn't suitable to mingle among the crowds to avoid being conspicuous.

Magic lamps filled the entire street and elves enjoyed their time, walking around. The light decorations were no different from a busy metropolitan area in her previous life.

Chatters and murmurs went in and out of her ears. Smells of elven culture snacks drifted into her nose. The noisiest area stunned Lireesa and her mouth twitched. It was a gambling area; shouts and swearing came out from the buildings.

Although she saw a higher civilization underneath it laid decay and corruption. Many elves with noble titles lost control pursuing enjoyment and even some civilians were taking part. Discipline was only seen in her fiefdom. Perhaps, her mistake was to regard other places the same as her march.

Luckily, her daughters were born in Windrunner house and her predecessor was strict in teaching their conduct. Naturally, Ella was more stringent and harsh on punishment. Her kids feared her. She must thank her friend Ella sincerely to produce a disciplined atmosphere.

Alleria looked interested at the laughing elven parties but since her mother's face was ugly watching them, she said nothing and followed Lireesa. As long as they roamed around, the experience was addictive, encountering several kinds of elves.

Music and cheerful commotions attracted Lireesa's attention. The elven music albeit similar to orchestra was a new genre for Lireesa. Their songs had the magical power to convey moods the composer wanted to express.

It was from a tavern and a clean one in contrast to her expectation. She entered and discovered the inside was crowded. Sitting down on available chairs, Lireesa scanned around. No one cared about them apart from the initial admiration for their beauty. Everyone resumed drinking.

The lights dimmed, signaling the show began. Lireesa was anticipating gladly what entertainment would amaze her. Based on the introductory music, she was already satisfied.
