Capítulo 59: Sena wants a thud on her head

A Legend!

That completely changed Lireesa's initial belief, from novice to hell mode straightaway. Now Sena's words also silenced her into deeper thoughts, where Lireesa understood how her friend was stuck in the mud of predicament. Sure, legend wasn't a frightening threat to Lireesa even if she was still in the rank of quasi-legend but the same couldn't be said to the expeditionary force. Lireesa wasn't named Ranger-General for nothing as even without her Thas'dorah, her prowess was feared by many trolls. Her present strength was incomparable with her past when she was already several times stronger. As someone who majored in both arcane sorcery and archery, Lireesa couldn't even estimate her strength accurately but she for sure knew her competency increased.

Of course, Legend's strength wasn't simply having higher damage; their output involved the use of law and the environment would help them in their combat, where levels lower than the rank couldn't achieve. Are they invincible in a sense? Nope, they were still killable, despite harsher restrictions and requirements. Unlike quasi-legend where the numbers could still affect them during the battle, Legends could only be contained by 3-5 quasi-legend. Below the rank of Level 9 was useless in front of their momentum. If by any chance there were 10 quasi-legends to confront the real Legend, no one could still guarantee their ability to eliminate Legendary powerhouse. Usually, only another Legend could kill a Legend, yet this never applied to Lireesa who deviated completely from the conventional ranking.

Naturally, Lireesa clearly heard what Sena said before, which meant her friend was indeed unsure if the legend existed on the opposing side at the moment. The probability had already required Lireesa to become more serious and solutions must be made to quickly address the coming threats. Although there was an unwritten rule between the trolls and the elves to prevent a Legend from participating in the small conflicts, Lireesa couldn't assure herself the enemy wouldn't break the rules. As was the saying in a previous life, rules were meant to be broken. After all, Windrunners had severely damaged infrastructures and slaughtered many trolls in their region albeit it was still a small border conflict. Who would ascertain, whether their action had already enraged the Legend?

Even if the probability was 1%, Lireesa must participate in the expedition to ensure the safety of her guards. She didn't want to see Windrunners getting slaughtered due to her miscalculation not mentioning her daughter and her friend was also present. She couldn't risk their survival even though she wasn't available at the moment. Lireesa laid back on her couch inside her office room and tilted her head back. Her hands rose cupping her cheeks and kneading them in distress. She even groaned whenever she discovered annoyingly the dilemma couldn't be solved. Since Lireesa had promised to meet the king a week ago, there shouldn't be a refusal of his invitation. Besides, she dragged the timeline to meet ten days later and the king had already given her face by not forcibly summoning her.

Now just when she was about to depart for the Silvermoon, Sena's word extinguished her travel plans. However, she must definitely go there and answered the king's summon. Or else her deeds might offend the royal faction and her plans for the future would encounter obstacles. The complications from her denial didn't merely produce such consequences. The intricacies in the whirlpool of Silvermoon might drown Windrunner's house if she released such a handle. There were already enemies in the dark inside Silvermoon and affronting the king was the last thing Lireesa would consummate.

Lireesa signed and thought there was only one method, which was to give a reasonable excuse and delay the summon. At the same time, she must prove she had tried despite the difficulties washing over her and shown her attitude. Perhaps, because Lireesa was in contemplation and didn't voice out apart from some imperceptible groans, Sena asked if she was still listening: "Hey! Lireesa! Are you there?"

"Yeah, I'm here. I have to admit, although your guess isn't supported by evidence, we must make a guarantee for our sister's safety. Should your conjecture become a reality, we'll be ready by then." Lireesa voiced out her agreement requiring her direct intervention in the expedition. Later, she explained her own predicaments and asked for advice from her friend, who was very unreliable. Forgetting her friend's frivolous character, Lireesa regretted inquiring Sena and her eyelids twitched as if she expected the answer already. She should've implored Ella instead to solve her mess, where even Ella's infuriating seriousness would lead her to a better solution.

"Fuck the king! Your sisters are in a precarious situation now and they need your help. Ignore the rest nonsense." Lireesa received a very typical Sena-like reply. She really had the urge to smack Sena's forehead if her friend was nearby. If the solution was as easy as Sena depicted, Lireesa would never have a headache. Should Lireesa focus on her own guards and neglect her relation with the circle, the entire Windrunner manor would be walking on the edge of the blade. She decided to divert Sena's thoughts.

"Why don't I send you my Thas'dorah bow and help you fight against the legend, while I meet the King Anaesterian in Silvermoon." Lireesa clapped her hands after finding a simple remedy and blurted out. There was silence from the device as if her thought scared away Sena, who then shrieked.

"Are you out of your mind, Lireesa? Although it could help me combat a Legend and solve our problems, the repercussion it will bring is unimaginable." Sena exclaimed, shocked by her friend's idea. "Your family's heirloom isn't something anybody can take hold of. I understand you don't care about such details, but if I hold onto that weapon, it totally represents a different meaning to the public."

"Your action might give birth to unhealthy ideas among the Windrunners, even if it is temporary." Sena continued her speech. "There might be power struggles within and different factions will come out. You don't want it; I don't want this to happen either. Only your family line is what makes us united. Please don't even joke about it."

Lireesa was helpless as her friend didn't even take this joke. Although she had this idea in the back of her mind, she knew the consequences of following this idea weren't something that could easily be solved in the future. Sena's opinion also flabbergasted Lireesa as she never expected her friend to ponder deeply. This was the first time; she saw Sena wasn't a straight-headed woman and even calculated the disadvantages brought by her move. The unreliable suddenly became reliable and Lireesa looked outside the window to see if any pigs flew by. If Sena heard Lireesa's inner monologue, her mouth might sprout unforgivable descriptions.

"Okay, I'll come to your group and stay guard. I'll not act if unnecessary and you're still the commander of the operation. Satisfied?" Lireesa was helpless without any other options. As for meeting with the king, she would send her entourage and her kids first as a gesture. "You better send a dragonhawk for transportation. Otherwise, even if I run to you, I wouldn't make it in time."

Sena's hidden agenda was to bring Lireesa to the fight no matter what other solutions might exist. Now that she received an affirmative from Lireesa, her mood instantly went up the sky. Although she was shameless to invite her own lord to complete the task, who could blame her when she didn't even possess a good weapon to deal a Legend. She forgot her strength was like heaven and earth when compared with Lireesa's.

In the past, Sena believed she would never ever reach her lord's realm and it was a tough pill to swallow, unable to keep up with her childhood friends. Moreover, Lireesa had already told the possibility of becoming a Legend to Sena, who in spite of happiness for her friend also was saddened by the greater distance between them. She really had no derivatives to stand side by side even if Lireesa would never treat anyone differently because of her own growth. Because her friend was not visible and communicated through the device, Lireesa had no knowledge of her friend's sorrow.

Lireesa surprised her friend didn't respond back to the good news, asked again to confirm she received her messages: "Sena, do you hear what I just said?"

"Hmm, I heard it. Sorry, my thoughts just flew away suddenly." Sena replied vaguely. "You're not going to ask about your daughter? I mean she just fucked up in the previous battle. Don't get me wrong she's fine."

Somewhat noticing Sena's voice and mood was unusual, Lireesa was about to inquire about her state, but Alleria's news quickly transferred her chain of thoughts especially when Sena described her daughter's situation as if she made a blunder. Lireesa remained calm and said, "If my daughter is in harm's way, you would never behave like this but straightaway scream at me and cry for help."

"Geez! Praise the Sunwell, I swear I'm never a shew, even if the world collapses. " Sena quickly retorted Lireesa's accusation. "Your daughter fought against a stronger opponent and won by a narrow margin, causing her body to hollow out. Now she's resting and couldn't move."

"Nothing happens to her, right? Except for the exhaustion." Lireesa asked worriedly albeit rationally she discerned Alleria was safe and sound.

"Of course, with me here, not even a hair is harmed," Sena replied and her quick response drew a picture in Lireesa's mind of Sena patting her chest and solemnly making a promise. Lireesa was unaware and Sena failed to recall Alleria was almost squashed to death. Well, at least what Sena said wasn't wrong except the bone was hurt a bit.

Afterward, Sena recalled everything and told Lireesa about her daughter's progress on the battlefield. Although she already knew her daughters were all protagonists, Alleria still amazed her mother by challenging someone stronger than her. Even if her victory was unsightly, for someone who was still a greenhouse, Lireesa regarded Alleria as very talented. It was a matter of time before her daughters would surpass the previous her, provided Lireesa didn't increase her own levels from now on. Nonetheless, it was impossible for the current Lireesa to remain as she was when she already had a broader vision and knowledge of her future enemies. There was no time for her to waste her level upgrades. Furthermore, as a transmigrator, it would become a stain on her belief if she were to be beaten by someone weaker than her, particularly her daughters. Proud was she for her daughters, but it also compelled Lireesa to not neglect her own cultivation.

"I think I don't even have to pave a path for her, she already had her place in the team. I guess even if I increase the rank no one would have dissatisfaction." Lireesa said relieved her daughter had already adapted to battles.

"Agreed, previously due to her talents and background, everyone didn't express and accepted the result. I can assure you after Alleria showed her strength, she convinced everyone her surname is not for nothing. Not to mention I'm still guiding her myself." Sena's praise raised Lireesa's eyebrows because a stranger would perceive it as if Alleria was raised by Sena personally.

Lireesa couldn't help but said, "It's as if you're the mother of Alleria."

"Isn't your daughter, my daughter?"

"…!"

I hope I'm not dillydallying. Lireesa becoming Legend is taking so many chapters that even the author is astounded. If rushed the description, the flow is disrupted ruining the whole novel.

A dilemma.
