Gabbi and Azrael lay entangled beneath the sheet, her face resting against his chest. His strong arm, one she had dreamed about for so long, was now wrapped around her waist, his thumb gently tracing circles on her back. The other hand propped behind him, resting comfortably against the headboard.
The man was a picture of masculinity. So hot.
Gabbi reached for the spot where Azrael had marked her. Though it was beginning to heal—faster than was normal—touching it sent a pleasurable shiver through her.
"What is it?" Azrael asked, sensing the subtle shift through their bond.
She shrugged. "I don't know, it just feels strange. Living among the Fae, I never thought I'd be mated, let alone marked. The Fae tend to look down on humans, and only a select few are ever chosen to be mated by the gods."
"Well, congratulations," Azreal chuckled, pressing a kiss to her temple. "You're now among the select few, God's chosen."
