Trapped
At the front was a large beast, a mother grieving the loss of her little ones to the hands of an unknown species sent to do nothing but extract the poison from their glands.
At the back was another beast, similar to the first in terms of looks and aggression. At first glance, one could tell that the second beast was the father of the slain litter. Like the mother, it too was grieving the loss of its young but instead of weeping, it acted out on aggression.
With one swing of its jaw, the beast ripped apart the upper body of an Ethisian soldier, leaving its lower body standing momentarily with a fountain of its blood gushing out. The other soldiers immediately turned around and were met by the bloodshot red eyes of the male beast.
