Capítulo 416: Long live the king

It seemed like the vampire materialized from thin air, but the air was filled with petrifying gas, albeit in low concentration. Without Cael's mist hiding within, there was even less of it.

Dieter still held his shield up—he didn't want to be even a bit petrified.

Ludwig didn't see him—he still looked at Dieter. But he must've sensed him now that Cael's mana wasn't spread across the entire room.

His glower turned into an expression of surprise, but that soon flickered into smugness again.

"This… Hah, I get it—"

Before Ludwig could finish his monologue, or complete the command to the tower that would gather an entire battalion of royal guards there, Cael struck.

His magic was already half-ready, after all. His claws shimmered with it—Cael completed the spell at the same time as he brought them down on Ludwig's neck.
